The service is horrible, no smiles, no excuse for taking the kitchen so long and they had to take the drink order twice because the bar couldnt read the handwriting of the first waiter. ... The food has come meanwhile (after 80 Minutes), and it was pretty good. The Lasagna deserves 3 stars, the pizza 4.5 stars (lots of scampis), but the service remained bad. I have been coming for six years and have brought several customers and had a few biz dinners here also. Tonight was exceptional. The staff were very friendly & gave us a good seat to accommodate the baby's pushchair, the decor was quaint & they were English friendly (even had English menus) however the food could have been better. I had a minestrone soup which was nice & my hubby had melon & parma ham - which he said was great (the starters were also a good size). The disappointment came when our main courses arrived, I opted for Penne Al'Arrabiatta & my other half had the fillet steak with pepper sauce. There is no doubt in my mind that the steak was not a fillet, if it was then the restaurant owner should think seriously about changing his butcher, however it was well disguised under a gallon of sauce. The accompanying vegetables were also well over cooked. My pasta was not offensive in any way but I could have made nicer at home myself - although again the portion was very generous. I wish my review could be more complementary as the staff were great & the place itself was lovely but I was disappointed. Will I go back again? Possibly, to give it another chance at some point in the future but would I recommend it to someone as a great restaurant? Sorry but no.
