They are located at the end of the street market and have seating in front of the store and across the street. I went there twice and both times, they filled up quickly. Because they are run like a well-oiled machine, any line moves quickly.
I ordered a take away sandwich for my husband the first time because he was going fishing the next day and didn't know if lunch was going to be provided. It was and when he shared his sandwich with the captain and first mate, they were so excited as they knew about the place and said it's "world famous." The second time, I was doing a street food tour while my husband fished and the guide took me to ... Caseificio Borderi! I had a lovely plate of meats, cheeses and caponata.
Don't let the line scare you away. This place is worth the few minutes wait to get seated or, at least to grab a sandwich to go. It's places like this that give you the true taste of Sicily!
