I've read reviews complaining about how this isn't Authentic Mexican Food. Do you know what I care…read moreabout when I go to a restaurant? I care if the food is good. If I want authentic Mexican food, I'll go to Mexican Town. Camellia's has good food, and I was happy I stopped here to eat. First, I'll start with maybe the most inauthentic item first. The chorizo and ground beef "sliders" were actually 2 burgers in regular-sized buns. Each had maybe 3 ounces of meat, and they were good, Not "I can feel the breeze off the beach in Cancun" good, but it was good with a smear of pretty authentic-tasting guacamole. We ordered chips with guacamole as a starter, and these seem to be pretty darned authentic chips. They were sturdy, with a terrific corn flavor, and a nice crunch to them. Definitely not Tostitos. The large amount of not-authentic-Mexican fries served with the "sliders" were excellent skin-on shoestring fries. My wife ordered chicken and steak fajitas. She didn't like the steak, saying it was too chewy. I have to say, it was maybe a tough cut of steak, and it was a bit overly salty, but I liked the flavor. The chicken was good, with a bit less seasoning. The rest consisted of all the things you expect in fajitas, and all of it was solid. I liked the drink selection. There were actually more Mexican beers here than I have ever seen in Mexican Town. Negra Modelo on tap? I wish I were able to get that when I go downtown, but I'm glad I was able to get a large glass for a reasonable price here. There were a lot of different flavors of margaritas. My wife loved the peach margarita she ordered. There were two waitresses, and a mostly full house, and they were able to keep up with the demand. The price was reasonable for the large portions of food, too. I'm not giving up on the delicious food in Mexican town, but I definitely wouldn't mind coming back here again for something less authentic, but still tasty.

I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. After last night's experience I will think twice…read moreabout returning. I wasn't too hungry and ordered an a la carte veggie burrito for $3.99. My partner ordered a full meal. The server did not tell me that there would be an EXTRA charge of $2.99 to make my a la carte burrito a veggie one (a chicken or beef one would be $3.99). What a surprise when getting the bill. And all the veggie burrito consisted of was onions, green peppers, tomatoes and lettuce. Why would this cost extra? Ridiculous. Between surprises like this and having to pay for chips and salsa, it's a wonder this place stays in business. It's a shame as the food is good.

31 years. I have been dining at CC for 30+ years…read more I went for their stroganoff, but shrimp and crawfish pasta was among the specials. I order the stroganoff to-go and ate the S&C pasta in-house. Excellent! Service is attentive without being obsequious. The ambiance is shotgun diner. Dining room and unisex bathroom are both clean. Will I return? Absolutely, yes.

A true example of "don't judge a book by its cover". We walk in, non peak, with eight folks and they have no issues with us. Quickly seated, orders taken, food delivered. Bam bam bam! The staff has always been great to us and now to our friends. The food is off-the-chain delicious. primarily Ukrainian fair, but you can find several other options and there's ALWAYS something for everyone. For the first five years I came here I ordered Christine's Famous Bomb Burrito. It's that good and I wasn't going to dive into the questionable stuff on the menu. Shame on me! Baba's Pierogis and their Potato Pancakes are wonderful but I recommend the Combo Platter so you can also experience the sausage and the sauerkraut (Kapusta). A quick chuckle: Mrs. E. only eats cold borscht. So we order it and it cools on the table and becomes our dessert. Most everyone I introduce to Christine's become regulars and it ain't because of me! 08/25

This place was Wow!!!! We have been wanting to try this place for so long, but it never worked out…read moreuntil this weekend, and yes, we will be back with the rest of the fam! The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.
