Wow... just left Mattress Gallery Direct to initiate a return for a mattress I purchased last week…read moreand ended up not needing so i never took delivery. They wanted to charge me 20% of the overall cost - roughly $100 - because they "held" the item awaiting my delivery the last 10 days. They ended up charging me only 10% - but still I had to pay $53 for an item that never left the store !! I told the manager he really should make that policy clear when someone purchases from them, and he said "it's written on the receipt "... Yep in the teeeeeny tiny fine print that NO ONE would ever bother to read or probably cant even see to read anyway because its written so small. The salesmen there are very nice and helpful... its not their fault. The mgmt there could care less about their customers and the store just scammed me outta $53. UGH DONT GO THERE !!!!! I came to them with a bad back and said I needed their best mattress that wouldn't break down on the edges. They showed me the Englander aloe Vera special mattress that would "never" break down on the edge. And they said it has a 15 year warranty. Well 4 months in and the side collapses, I call and the warranty says if there are any stains at all on the mattress it will not be honored, if there isn't a visible measurable sag of over two inches it's not honored. With no one on it, you can still see a dent, it's not two inches, but then you lay on it and the side buckles. They have offered no help and now my back problems are worse. If I was a wealthier man I'd sue them, other industries have Laws to protect buyers from bogus warranties. Example: if you put new tint or wheels on a car and the engine breaks down they can't say your car isn't under warranty because cosmetic changes do not effect the function of the car. But of course if I was a wealthier man I wouldn't have given my business to such swindlers. Want a good review Rick? Honor the warranty that you say it has instead of weaseling out of it with semantics and dishonesty. GARBAGE COMPANY!!

I came across their website and decided to visit their Hermitage location. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a delightful gentleman named John. I explained to him what I was looking for and the issues I had with my previous mattress shopping experience and he was happy to help me. Even more impressive was that I showed him the tag from the mattress in my guest room that I really like that was 10+ years old, he was able to tell me all about it and while they don't make them anymore, he was able to tell me about all of the improvements they have made on the current models. They had a large selection of mattresses and John was able to show me the ones he thought I would like based on my preferences, and even explained the differences between the various options. He was very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. *Tip* If you sign up for their "Outlet Pass", they'll email you a voucher for an additional discount off of your mattress. Mine was already marked down to a great deal (less than half of what you would pay elsewhere) and they were able to take an additional $100 off. Boy was I wrong, and my back paid the price. The next day, I showed up to Marks Mattress Outlet and was greeted immediately upon arrival by Jerry. He asked me what I was looking for and was able to find the perfect mattress (pillow soft, firm, mix, etc.) for me. Not only that, but when he heard I was in pain from sleeping on an air mattress, he called his delivery people to see if they could deliver the same day (unfortunately they were booked with deliveries all day which speaks to how well the store does). I thought I would be dropping thousands of dollars for a brand name mattress, but it was incredibly priced and next business day delivery was impeccable. Highly recommend this store for anyone looking to buy a new mattress, and DEFINITELY recommend for any newcomers moving to Nashville.
