I've found mechanics and doctors, though barbers it seems are a whole 'nother ball game. I started going to Kim in High School, you know that time when you grow out of your mom cutting your hair, and stayed through most of college After I graduated I moved to the South Shore, and have been looking for a good barber in this area. Here are the cliff notes: Shop in Quincy: Requested zero to the whole head, doesn't do a second pass and leaves lots of little hairs that drove me berzerk until it grew in. Shop in Weymouth: I spent 30 minutes extra in the chair because apparently "two one top, one on the sides" is open to a lot of interpretation. I know what I want, thank you very much. That's it, no more searching and getting terrible overpriced haircuts. Here's what I love about Kim: + She's no frills. If you ask for a "two one top, one on the sides" that's what you get. If you are looking for styling/guidance you can get that too, certainly. + She takes pride in her work. No stray hairs left behind like that Quincy shop. You get 100% what you ask for, not 95%. + She's fast (and still accurate). You won't be sitting in that chair longer than you have to, and likewise lines move fast. + Her rates are extremely reasonable. + She's wicked nice! Need I say more? Okay okay okay.... so I decided I wanted to cut my hair into a fade maybe about 2 weeks ago, I…read morewanted to find a barbershop that was close to me because I knew I would be there every other week. I typed in Black Barber Shop into yelp (don't judge me), and this was one of the first that came up. I skimmed through the photos and narrowed it down to this shop and another one on the list, now it was time to do an in depth search of the barber who had the best skills with the clippers. After careful consideration I chose Black Label. For the next week or so I was glued to their Instagram page and constantly checking their yelp like a true stalker. I knew right away I wanted the guy with all the tattoos to do my cut, I searched and searched and finally someone mentioned his name LONG! What a perfect fit, because it took me a long behind time to find out who I had been obsessed with for the preceding 7 days! Finally I went to the website and booked the next available appointment. So Tuesday came I couldn't wait to get in Longs chair to get my cut! My friend came to get me and we took the very short drive over to the shop where there was surprisingly so much parking even after the storm. We went upstairs and I walked into the shop with the dorkiest look on my face grinning as I asked for Long, he was just finishing up another client and I took my seat. Immediately I noticed how immaculately clean the shop was and how quiet and respectful the other barbers were. Long came over introduced himself, shook my hand and we headed to his chair. I showed him a few pictures and he listened to every intricate detail I mentioned to achieve my desired cut! During the cut I got to know so much about him because I was giving him an impromptu interview since I had been stalking his whole life for the past week. After he was finished it was time for the reveal... if you've ever gotten a major haircut before you know the feeling of the final chair spin before you see the mirror and OMG OMG OMG I freaking LOVE MY HAIRCUT!!! I want to say thank you so much to everyone who's made it this far down the review because it's quite Long (all the pun intended)!
