Now this the spot for oxtails. I'm never disappointed when I get food here. The service is always…read morepleasant the portions are always plentiful. I don't mind having to pay more for good food. The restaurant is always bright and clean. The name was changed to Queen Jamaican Cuisine.

I've tried repeatedly to like this place as it's one of two restaurants that are right outside my…read moresubdivision, so close and convenient. This was probably my 5th time here and the experience never leaves me longing to come back. I will, however, focus this review on the most recent visit, yesterday. I went in with my 18yo nephew who's in town visiting me and my two toddlers. We hit a sweet spot as no other customers were there when we arrived but soon followed. We got our food to go and took it home to eat, along with a few of the juices, ginger beer, and waters. I forgot to snap pics of some of it, but here's what we had: Jerk pork - nephew's first time having it. It reminded him of bbq. He liked it and said it was moist Dumplings - also his first time and he assumed they'd have meat inside...was sad to learn it was just bread. Toddlers were happy to eat it for him. Brown stew chicken - it was dry and the outside of most pieces was hard as if it was cooked a while ago and reheated/overheated. It was slathered in gravy which helped the harder bits go down. The gravy was very good. I needed more for my rice and peas. Some of the peas were dried out too. The plantains in the dinner plate were drier than the ones in the side order. My cabbage was good; it still had some crunch so not over cooked. It was fresh and delicious. Plantains - the side order was good. Somehow they seemed more freshly made than the ones in the dinner plate. Patties/handpies - we had a jerk chicken and a spinach. I forgot to ask neph about his but my spinach one was on point when I heated it up later. I probably would have liked more filling.
