She really listened! She completely "dressed" our home in custom draperies for multiple rooms in the house, a valence in the kitchen and wood shutters for my office. I was thoroughly pleased with the custom faux iron window coverings that she suggested for my upper windows in my family room. They are instant conversation starters and I have referred many customers to KDI for her great work on designing those pieces as well as the draperies throughout the house. She also has a great installation team - they arrived on time, they were neat and considerate and above all, they did great work! Three years after the completion of that project, I made the decision move to another home. KDI took my custom draperies from the first house and did an outstanding job of installing them into my current home. They showed up and repaired my ceilings beautifully. You can't even tell the holes were in there. I think their work is high quality and fairly priced, and I recommend them without reservation.

The work was quoted for a week including decorative ceilings (which was dropped for said reasons), dry walling a living room, kitchen covering a removed door, etc. Admittedly far from a quick job, which was fine with us.The worker (notice the singular form of the word) showed up Wednesday to start work which was expected (minus the crew with him that was expected), fine maybe they would show up....nope. Single worker was just the start. Wrong again after putting about 2 sheets of drywall up he left. A call from Craig (Drywall Guyz sales I guess) they went be back out to the house until Monday. Well no way to make that week deadline they gave us, fine. We can cope a little longer. The single worker at a time starts back up Monday. We check the house at night for progress, we bring up concerns like the original amateur couldn't cut out electric / light boxes with any degree of ability, the drywall around the sliding glass door wasn't picture framed in, and we will see stress fractures if it wasn't fixed. Always assured it would be fixed...fine. Wrong again. Come the following Wednesday (now double the time, with less requested because the workers ran out of materials for whatever at this point) he has seen the house and ready to get paid. Meet him at the house, Craig is 30 minutes late with no call. Finally here, I point out some of the cut outside and how bad they are, immediate "we didn't put that in". Agreed, you were hired to fix the mistakes. We said from the beginning if more drywall was needed that was fine we were willing to pay for it. Since the beginning. Point out the windows weren't trimmed out either. "Well none of the other windows are that way" yes they are. Still wanted his check, who cares about quality as long as you get paid, right? Use at your own risk, they should have been fired week when they couldn't show up for more than a couple hours.

My wife and I found a home in our "dream neighborhood," but we wanted to make some upgrades in the kitchen, living room, and master bathroom. Over 3-4 months, we did some major work (i.e. "take it to the studs" in most rooms) and Steve got it completed on time and on budget -- with many compliments from our friends and family. Before the renovation, we met with several different contractors that provided a series of construction plans and budgets. Steve did that too, but he offered so much more. Most of all, we were impressed by Steve's attention to detail and his keen eye for architecture. For example, most contractors "eye balled" the room measurements. Not Steve. On his first visit, he took measurements of every room and could immediately work with us on room design (or re-design) that helped us envision the yet-to-be-completed project. In addition, other contractors "suggested" that we hire an architect to help with the plans. But the bonus of working with Steve was that his architecture background gave us a "two in one" that could help us envision how we would utilize the house (i.e. you'll want the sink here; the oven here; the pantry here; a door here; etc). In my opinion, this was a huge asset to our remodel plan as we were able to review (and modify) building plans before we started work -- and Steve had some excellent input about "the flow" of our certain rooms in our future layout. Before selecting Steve, we spoke to about 5-7 people that worked with Steve on prior projects and they all offered glowing recommendations of him -- and his work. During the renovation, Steve worked hard to keep his sub-contractors on schedule and routinely updated us on their progress. If we had a modification to our plans, Steve was always willing to find a solution. He also worked closely with us to select light fixtures, cabinet designs, and granite slabs. For other parts, he worked with my wife to "create" her dream kitchen and they would routinely share photos from magazines or the internet so he could best understand what we were "looking for." He did some major work. New hardwood floors that look excellent. A new "rain shower" with a built-in bench that my wife loves. Expanding our kitchen by moving the water and A/C to the attic that allowed us to put an island in the kitchen. Removing a massive (truly massive) fireplace and installing a natural gas fireplace. This was not an easy job and his work was excellent. Now that our remodel project is complete, we can offer our highest recommendation for Steve and Watermark. We are truly happy with the final outcome and it was not a surprising result given Steve's hard work and incredible attention to detail that we now have our "dream home."

I'm wanting to change the layout of my kitchen, in addition to other extensive interior remodeling. With the architectural background this company has, I thought they would be the best choice. It's just unfortunate that they have poor communication with new/potential clients. Rapport is so very important in huge investments such as home improvement; and so far, I don't have a very comforting impression with how this company engages with its clients.
