I use to work for these criminals when I was younger in 2006 when they were located off President…read moreSt in Savannah GA.I was a struggling newly wedded father who needed all his coins. We were responsible for putting up tents they rented from Ranco tent company out of Statesboro GA, setting up all the heavy stuff like chairs tables, and cleaning up after the event.Well they had a lot of work and needed extra help but didn't have enough people so they asked me would I be willing to help them out?I said yes because I need the money and by law anything over 40hrs is overtime in the state of Georgia and you are supposed to be paid for time and a half, just as they had posted inside of there break room. They worked me over 80 hours in one week but when it was time to pay me the lady tried to pay me straight time instead of the time and a half required by law.I thought it was a mistake but when I brought it to her attention she said I wouldn't be paid for time and a half just straight hourly wage which at that time was only 9 Dollars and hour.I stated to her that by law I was intitled to time and a half. She said ok you can leave or she would call the police.I said call the police you are the one who is wronging me.This lady actually called the police on me and I wasn't loud or threatening towards her.i was just pointing out to her what I saw as a mistake at the time.Long story short I never got my money because the police said that this is a civil issue and I would have to take them to court. He stated that I was right but they don't handle civil issues the only reason why they were there was because she said she felt threatened.smh Long story short I didn't have the money or the time to see them so I lost out.For many years this bothered me because I felt like I was done like that because I was black. This company is not owned by someone who has integrity or morals.Or maybe they have or she has changed because nothing stays the same.Im not the same as I use to be.I really just wanted her to see this all these years later and think back to that incident.I helped you and your company and you did me wrong but I'm not seeking revenge I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Simply Magical - A Dream Wedding at The Mackey House!…read more There are truly no words to describe how incredible our daughter's wedding day was--but I'll absolutely try my best! The Mackey House is, without a doubt, the best wedding venue in Savannah. From the moment we drove down the breathtaking, tree-lined driveway, we knew this was the one. The grounds are absolutely stunning--the gardens, the fountains, the romantic ambiance--it all felt like a scene from a movie. What truly set The Mackey House apart, though, was the exceptional staff. Every interaction was warm, positive, and professional. They were always smiling, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed. A huge shoutout to Dave, who served as both the officiant and DJ. His great sense of humor had so many of our guests asking, "Where did you find him?!" He made the ceremony feel personal, heartfelt, and fun--truly unforgettable. And an enormous thank you to Andie from Emerald & Ivy Events. Her bubbly energy, calm presence, and constant support throughout the planning process--and especially on the big day--were invaluable. She guided us through every step with confidence and joy. Even a bit of rain in the forecast didn't shake this incredible team. Dave tracked the weather closely and made the call to proceed with an outdoor ceremony--and it was perfect. Andie calmly worked behind the scenes with the in-house and vendor teams to ensure we had a solid "Plan B" in case weather forced a change, but we didn't need it! Not a drop of rain fell during first-look photos or the vows, and the sun even peeked through the clouds as they said "I do." Pure magic. We loved how each part of the celebration had its own beautifully designed space: cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing--all thoughtfully laid out and seamlessly executed. The bridal suite and groomsmen's "man cave" were perfect for getting ready. And at the end of the night, the staff packed up all of our decor and belongings, making cleanup and departure a breeze. From start to finish, everything ran flawlessly. The Mackey House team made the entire day feel stress-free--for us, our daughter and son-in-law, and every guest. They treated everyone with such kindness, care, and love--it truly felt like they were part of our extended family. Thank you, Mackey House, for making our daughter's wedding dreams come true. It was the most magical day, and our guests are still raving about how beautiful and joyful it was! They did an excellent job of helping us keep costs down while still making sure we had what we needed. We rented chairs, dishes, and tents. They delivered all the items and set up the tents exactly as scheduled and I was impressed with how nice the tents were. The tents they rent are definitely not the same quality as the pop-up tents you can buy so think twice before you try to stick several pop-up tents together. We had guest numbers fluctuate a couple times and Classic Party Rentals never batted an eye when we had to make changes to our order. Overall they were really easy to work with, made the rentals affordable, and were incredibly reliable.

We hired them to supply chairs for my daughter's wedding at Wright Square in Savannah, GA. The…read morecontract specified that they were to deliver chairs for 100+ guests, and the astroturf the city requires for events in the squares. Their representative met with us weeks ago and drew a diagram of the layout, and signed a contract to set up everything at 3:00 PM for a 5:00 ceremony. Our daughter was ready to walk down the isle by 4:45 as planned. Classic showed up after 5:00 PM with no diagram or layout, and proceeded to set up the chairs BACKWARDS! Several of our guests jumped into the fray and helped the Classic folks fix their mess and set up the remaining chairs. The chairs were all set up by 5:30, and our guests actually got to sit in them for 5 minutes before the ceremony began. It was a very short service (10 minutes or so) and the chairs began hitting the back of the truck as soon as the last guest started to walk across the street to the reception at Creative Coast on York. So, we paid $1000 for less than 15 minutes use of Classic's precious chairs. Roughly a dollar a minute per chair. It doesn't stop there. Because Classic Party Rentals was so late getting started, we had to pay for additional time for the photographers, the officiant, the off-duty police officer, the caterer, and the band. Even if Classic refunded 100% of our fee, we would still be out of pocket to the other vendors because of Classic's incompetence. So, if you don't care about event cost overruns, guests meandering around with no place to sit, wondering if they were in the right place, sign right up. If these kinds of incompetencies bother you, move on and find a different vendor.
