I cannot say enough great things about Mike and It Takes Two Entertainment. From the very start,…read moreMike was extremely supportive and guided our family through so much of the party process. He was patient, supportive, offered valuable thoughts and opinions, and really worked with our daughter making sure she was comfortable during the party as well as super excited. He was creative with his thinking and offered fantastic ideas that really made some special moments to stand out. On the day of the party, Mike was amazing with the guests. He kept the kids entertained and provided a space that was full of energy, excitement, and just down right fun. He provided us with an amazing set of dancers. They were truly exceptional keeping everyone dancing throughout the entire event. They interacted with everyone, all ages of guests, and was able to make sure the dance floor was a comfortable place to bust a move and have the most fun. Mike also made an incredible video montage of my daughter too. He creatively captured and put together a beautiful "walk down memory lane" of our daughter that truly warmed hearts. The music was properly chosen and then whole thing was OUTSTANDING! I could not be more impressed by Mike and It Takes Too. His expertise, professionalism, patience, and creativeness made this very special day for our family so memorable. We feel very lucky for all the support that was given. I am ready to book him for our other daughter's Bat Mitzvah taking place in 2019!

The DJ (Fred) and owner was completely unprofessional. There were numerous major issues. First off,…read morea week before our wedding I filled out the song request portal with our ceremony and reception requests, the ceremony requests were fine and he "received" them, yet apparently he did not receive our reception music request list. (One would think if he didn't have the request sheet, he would notify us before the wedding). The night started with the entrances, the maid of honor placed the wireless microphone on the table in the dressing room and left it there as she ran out to make the entrance. When it was time for her to do her speech, she had to borrow the DJs microphone for the speech. After the speech, the DJ only cared about the microphone and went straight to the bride and said that the microphone is worth $600, how did she lose it? I need it back now. While yes, a mistake on the maid of honor's end, the microphone was safe and returned to the DJ within seconds of the speech's concluding. Additionally, After an hour and a half of very dated disco music, where no one under 65 was dancing, we made several comments to the DJ about playing more songs in line with our requests and he aggressively stated " you didn't fill one out" , clearly we did as he received our ceremony requests. Instead of being professional and saying ok let's fix this issue and make the night right and fix the vibe, he decided to stick to his guns and refused to play our and guests requests for more dance / club / higher energy / upbeat music. Upon numerous requests to fix the playlists he made comments like "do you want me to pack up and leave" , "if you think you can do a better job then do it", "I'm getting complaints" to the bride and guests. He also had the gall to constantly say his opinions and commentated over the microphone. For instance, during the cake cutting, the Maitre d' and the photographer were talking to the bride and groom and he had the guts to say "whelp guess they need explanation on how to cut a cake", and that was just one of several openly broadcasted back handed comments made. Literally at the final hour, he started to play more consistent modern songs but by that point it was late in the night, and people were bored and leaving. I don't know if this was a bad night for him, but even if he didn't get our request sheet, make an honest and professional effort to fix the situation and make the client happy. In a business of word of mouth and where every venue is filled with potential new clients, many were left wanting a better experience, and were unimpressed. He was paid in advance so didn't care much apparently. Its a shame we had high hopes for the evening, Fred let us down and was a major regret in our hindsight.

Planning a wedding from Texas in NJ is not easy, but he was very responsive to every email and the few phone conversations we had. Since we had a Friday morning brunch wedding, he was also able to work with our budget and really make it happen for us. Once we booked with CSE Sean also sent us a username and password to our personalized online music planner. It was nice being able to put all the details of who was who, and pick what songs we wanted to be played. Also, the week of the wedding, Sean touched based, went over everything with us too which was much appreciated! Since we had a small wedding, I know it was difficult to get the party pumped up ( a Friday brunch wedding is also a little difficult). But, he played many of the songs we requested and others that were really perfectly along the lines of our wedding day feel- think Michael Buble. It was really nice because it didn't feel like just another wedding with a cheesy DJ. Sean also worked with my sister to orchestrate "the shoe game" I had wanted in the middle of our reception which was a lot of fun! Lots of laughs! Perfect touch. Thank you Sean for being so organized and knowing our venue. It made the day a lot more enjoyable for us. Highly recommend CSE!

Two had him at their weddings and the third at his FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY!! I got married two years ago and chose Magic Mike as my DJ. I didn't see the point of experimenting with new DJs- there's a reason he's been in the industry for so long: 1. He is able to feel the pulse of the crowd 2. He is extremely genuine and warm So many people asked for his number after the wedding. I'd be shocked if he's not booked till 2020!

Beware! Out of over 500 reviews, I've only given a handful of poor reviews. I gave all the vendors…read moreat my wedding 5 stars except for Mike. As Mike has been in the business for 20 years and the glowing reviews on Yelp, WeddingWire, and the Knot, I made the mistake of booking him. Mike loves to march to his own beat and is extremely disorganized, ill-prepared, lazy, inattentive to details, unprofessional, outdated, lackadaisical, and quite frankly a bozo. While I was impressed by all of the vendors at my wedding, I was seething and cringing by Mike's countless mistakes. As other Yelpers have noted, Mike is highly skilled at mixing beats for Hindu/American fusion weddings and getting everyone to hit the dance floor. However, Mike caters to the crowd rather than to the bride and groom. There's "no magic", here are Mike's top 8 blunders which I confronted him at the end of my wedding night: #1: Using an old schedule that was 2 months old! After 3 phone calls with Mike and sending him a few revised schedules based on feedback that he provided, he used the 1st schedule that I sent him with wrong bridal party names, songs, and times! He neglected all of the changes that we discussed on the phone and failed to use the new schedule that I sent a week before the wedding like he requested. When 5 names are mentioned, but only 2 women and a man walk out to "Sister Sledge" playing, that's a blunder! #2: Missing Cues/Repeated stepping of glasses. My fiancee and I are highly private people and don't enjoy long kissing sessions in front of our parents and friends. We actually took out all kissing pics from our slideshow. During the reception, after a big frown and shaking of the head after the 1st stemming of glasses, Mike initiated and continued to round up the crowd for additional stemming of glasses. It got so bad that some of the bridal party members broke some of the glasses in retailation. The stemming of the glasses is a topic that I also wish Mike discussed with us before the wedding so we could have easily prevented this embarrassing mishap. #3 Announcing the grooms name first and then the bride's name. A big no-no! "Peter and Aarti Pruitt". Mike believes in men first, even at weddings. #4 Playing songs on the "Do NOT play list". I hate "Gangnam Style" with a passion and it was among the 20 don't play list. Not only did Mike happily play the song, but he refused to change the song when I asked him to! That wasn't the only one... #5 Begging for a Big Tip. Mike isn't shy about charging top dollar $3K and the audacity to ask my father for a big tip before the event! The bozo loves to overpromise and underdeliver. My dad was way too nice to tip him $200. As a firm believer of tips, I honestly would NOT tip him. #6: Trying to Upsell at the WRONG time. Mike and I had a couple of minutes before the reception started. Rather than using this crucial time to discuss making any last-minute changes to the schedule (ex. moving things up as we wanted to skip sunset pics due to the weather), instead Mike kept trying to repeatedly sell us on the dhol guy. I hate BHANGRA, why would I pay extra for it? #7 Forgetting to play the cake cutting song. I was looking forward to hearing my favorite Baby Love during the cake cutting, too bad I never got the chance to hear it! #8 Not taking full ownership. After confronting Mike about all of the blunders listed above, he kept deflecting and making excuses. Despite repeated emails and phone calls before the wedding, Mike was very ill-prepared and was "winging" it at the wedding with sheepish grins. While I appreciate Mike's apology for his mistakes in a follow-up email that he sent, he doesn't take away from the painful memories that I experienced due to his careless mistakes. He single-handedly ruined the reception. Not once did Mike make it about the bride and the groom, it was more of Mike's day and pleasing the crowd. If you want to make your day special, I recommend tuning him out and enjoying the beat of someone else.
