The emails I received from her were deeply upsetting. The customer entrusted them to send the ashes to me so I could create her jewelry piece. It was sent via express with insufficient postage paid. I initially refused the package because I did not bill them for the additional shipping, and it was not included in the purchase from the customer. I told my postal worker I would look into it and get back to him the next day. I called the post office and they stated that the postage wasn't paid in full by the funeral home. I called TWICE to let them know what had happened and no one ever got back to me with a solution. I was not in the office the last delivery attempt and therefor it got sent back to them. I told them that I would not accept the package unless the postage was paid, and the woman emailing me said "I will just send this info to the family and they can file a claim with you." The only thing holding up this transaction with the customer is the receipt of the ashes! Her $640 ring is already complete and just needs the ashes added. Her insinuating filing a claim or any sort (because the funeral home is the one who made the purchase, for some reason. They made the customer do it under the funeral home's name, which is not normal practice) leads me to believe they will file a charge back and I will be out time and materials over NOTHING other than them not wanting to pay $25 to send me the ashes the correct way. Either way, I don't need any sort of empty threats over this crap, I am simply a middleman in this whole thing and now I have been dragged into it. Stay posted for photos if this gets crazier. Hopefully they do the right thing and just send the ashes to me.

This was my first time at De Leon funeral home, so I was unfamiliar with the building. It was not obvious to me who or where the funeral director was at the time, because he was dressed in jeans and an untucked shirt. He looked strangely unkempt. It was then that the funeral director informed myself and others that we were walking the wrong way, and simply pointed his index finger on his outstretched arm. The ceremony was in progress, and the priest was giving his prayer, when the funeral director stepped in front of the rows of chairs filled with people, and made his way up to the casket to remove the plastic floral picks (card holders) and cards on the deceased's flower arrangements. This was so disrespectful, as the service was still going on! I could not believe my eyes! There was a moment of transition after the priest finished and left, and when a few people began to approach the casket to say their goodbyes. It was clearly evident that many folks had not said their last goodbyes to the deceased when the funeral director, in a rushed, monotone and uncomforting voice, ended the night with the following, and I quote; "The funeral home will be closing now, so if you haven't said your last goodbyes, say them now". It seemed like he was rushing everyone out so that he could be home in time for his prime-time T.V. show. I should also mention, that Jennifer Tucci assisted in making the arrangements with the family prior to the funeral service. Ms. Jennifer Tucci never made mention of suggestions for where to buy flowers or offering the family the option to write an obituary for the deceased. It is important to note here that, if a family has never planned a funeral first hand, they might not know to ask questions like these. It should be the responsibility of the funeral home to make these suggestions to a mourning family. Sadly this funeral home and its employees fell FAR short of their duties and obligations. Because of De Leon Funeral Home's shortcomings, my loved one was not given the proper farewell they so deserved. I don't often write reviews, as I don't have much spare time to do so. However, this experience was so hurtful that I felt it necessary to write a review. I write this review to share my experience in hopes of helping others to make the best decision when planning their loved ones farewell.

Two different rooms for seating and the bigger room held the casket and visitors came to pay their respects. A decently sizes funeral home that some had to squeeze by others while there was still areas for groups to congregate. I imagine that a lot of thought and preparation was put into honoring this man and this funeral home did him justice. True to his word, everything was effortless before, during & after Mom's service. (They even let me drop-in the day before the service to test our Spotify audio playlist and video slideshow that would appear on their screens during calling hours.) From beginning-to-end, we felt we were in good hands with Mulryan. The room looked absolutely beautiful & well-appointed for the service. Rob was present & available throughout. The coordination from Mulryan to the cemetery was smooth & effortless. And even in our final moments at the cemetery, Rob was there overseeing the final closure of the burial site. We met with the director and wanted to have a casket for just the mass. The home has a casket that they use for multiple rentals for the funeral. The fee to use the casket for an hour and a half was $1200 which we thought was exhobinant. The mother of the daughter is a single mom on a fixed income. The fees from this home were extremely high and I wrote to the owner Tom Mulryan to ask if he could consider a discount for the woman. He never returned an email, I wrote to him again telling him that I thought that it was discourteous to not even respond to a customer. Then I received a rude email back from him stating that I was threatening him because I told him that I will never refer anyone to his business. He also threatened that if I said anything to anyone about his business he would forward my emails to the mother of the child. I never threatened this person and merely asked him if he could possibly give this single mother a discount for their services. there is nothing wrong with that. In return I received the following email from the owner. (This is from Tom Mulryan the owner) "I didn't get back to you because I didn't think there was any reason to.  Just because in your mind you think we should give a discount that doesn't count. How much did you contribute to the funeral.  And don't ever threaten me. If I Hear one thing from someone that you said about me or the funeral home I will forward all your emails to---------- " ( A real classy way to treat his customers that just lost a family member.) Mind you we just buried her daughter a couple of weeks ago. We will never use this funeral home again and this is an example of the sensitivity and crudeness that you receive from no less the owner of the home. This person doesn't deserve anyone's business and I would not recommend that anyone go to their home. It seems like money is the main concern and not the compassion for his clients. All I did was merely ask him if he could give a single mom that lost her 32 year old daughter a discount on the package. This person is insensitive, rude and completely inconsiderate to his customers and isn't professional. I understand now why many people that I know are choosing CT Crematory for $1250 and they have a mass. The don't want to deal with the funeral homes that are bilking people. We just lost a family member and this is the way that he reacted to us. I have never had an owner of any business, especially someone that deals with grief, loss etc. act so callous, and rude. He shows no class. We are still mourning and this is the treatment that we got. We do not recommend this funeral home. Absolutely egregious! Any other funeral home would be better than this one.
