*1/5 stars - Horrible experience at Salon Álvarez…read more Today I went to SA for my usual highlights, but the experience was a complete catastrophe. The stylist who attended to me was not the usual one, and she left my hair completely blonde!! It was like I went from being a brunette to Shakira overnight! I would never in my life ask for that kind of artificial and overdone blonde, and even less without consulting me. Also , during the process, before I realized the mistake, the stylist after two hours told me she didn't have time to cut or style my hair and that I would have to come back another day What ??? She left the dye on my hair for almost THREE HOURS, which I'm sure didn't help the situation. I was starting to get worried as the time went by, but I trusted that she knew what she was doing. Boy, was I wrong. When she finally rinsed out the dye, my hair was completely ruined. When the other stylists realized the damage, they tried to fix the mistake with a toner, but the result was .... OMG : now my hair looks gray It's unbelievable that they couldn't get it right in the first place, and their "solution" was even worse . I've been a client for three/four years and I never imagined I'd receive treatment like this. The lack of recognition and condescending attitude of the staff was what bothered me the most. They said, "This is the color we always do for you," acting like it was true. There was no "Sorry, we made a mistake".They acted like I was crazy and it was all just a fabrication!! Needless to say, I left without paying. Now I'll have to go to another salon to try to fix this mess. I have photos of my hair before, during, and after the disaster, so I can prove the evidence . I don't recommend this salon to anyone. The lack of professionalism and the staff's attitude is unacceptable. Look elsewhere for your hair needs.

Who knew the relationship I'd have with the team here all these years later. I get random compliments on my color from complete strangers. (Friends and family too :-)) Michael and Keri have given me tips on product to use for different seasons and I've never been disappointed. My adult kids now come here because of the service and people !!! The salon has local artists, Michaels Bee honey, and bbq advice. The salon "coffee table " always has great reads. I have not gotten a haircut anywhere else since thats how much I love this place and the people. Everything you would want out of a stylist. Friendly, nice, and always the perfect haircut. The salon is always clean and they have bottled water and coffee available. TVs are on for when you wait and when you're in the chair and they also have music playing so it's never too quiet. Love that they do raffles and little things for their clients on occasion. Love this place if you're looking for a great experience and not just an in and out great clips or lady Jane's haircut this is the place to go. I wanted a fresh new look from a great salon and don't expect " budget cut" services or pricing. I arrived, checked in and ended up waiting 30 minutes for my stylist because mine was running late. Ok, no problem because I watched some great hair being done so I was so excited! I was also in clear view of a gal doing a pedicure and I thought I'd try that service out next time. Good to know it's all under one roof. After waiting with anticipation of the stylist finishing up with their haircuts and blowouts, the gal that fished the pedicure came up to me saying she is ready for me. I was confused.... My heart sank. The excitement was gone and I just couldn't go through with it. I couldn't trust that I would get the same beautiful results as an experienced & skilled stylist for my big hair change. I asked her if she just got done doing that pedicure and was a newer stylist and she said yes, I just got done with the pedicure and have been cutting for about one year. I apologized and said I wasn't comfortable with her cutting my hair. I never had a pedicure nail person cut my hair before. The gal at the desk said all their stylist do pedicures and didn't offer any alternatives. She didn't care that I waited 30 minutes post my scheduled appointment and didn't care that I was not comfortable and didn't try to find me someone more experienced. She didn't even sell me on this stylist either!! Didn't build her up at all. Retaining my business was not a consideration at all. She was all too ok with me walking out the door. Since when does skilled experienced stylist do pedicures on Saturday ? I could have went to "budget cuts" and pay 15.00 rather than 85 plus a tip. That price point comes with expectations of getting a trained stylist passionate about her or his craft.
