I could not love this store more than I do. If you'd like…read moreto support a small business in the community that clearly takes great care of its staff, then this is the place for you. This crew is always chatty, helpful, and considerate. They are always well staffed and their crew is incredibly knowledgeable. I was buying some prepared meat to take home and cook and the woman behind the counter went out of her way to answer my questions about best Cook times, etc. and even went back to the kitchen to ask the chef for some advice. Oh, and the prepared foods are amazing! Subs? Deli? Kebabs? Amazing! Like, where do you get this kind of amazing service anymore?

If I am in the Willowick area I will usually try to stop by Sweetberry Fresh Market to see what I can find. Sweetberry is a medium sized market with a large selection of produce and fruits, a full deli counter, butcher counter, bakery, groceries and prepared foods. Once you have parked you get your first taste of what is best and freshest since they have a display of vegies on sale on the side and front porch; which is open in the summer and covered in the winter. Inside you find a tightly packed market which is usually packed with people. The staff does a nice job of keeping things moving, but it can get a bit overwhelming and slow at times. I usually concentrate on the fruits and vegetables; prices are moderate, although I can usually find good deals on the sale items. For me I can pass on most of the other food, while they have a freezer of frozen fish and seafood, there is no fresh seafood. Most times I visit Sweetberry while the selection is good between the crowds and the prices, I either leave with nothing or just a couple of items. If you are in the area Sweetberry is a good alternative to the grocery stores, but probably not worth a special trip.

Cost of corn today 9/20 was 6 ears for $4.50. Yesterday we saw at a farmer market 12 for $7. So a bit more. They have a complete industry going in summer and fall. Lots of pumpkins. Prices for a good size pumpkin is around $16. Kinda high. Good size though. They have a corn maze and such. Corn maze is not free. They have hot dogs, ice cream and corn on the cob to eat. They have glider picnic tables arranged around. It's very family friendly. But after 30 mins you can spend $60 easy. They sell bread and bakery from local places. Loaf of fresh bread is around $7. Inside they have a ton of different fruits and veggies as well as jams and Amish treats. Fruits and veggies can be pricey. We got some lettuce, 3 tomatoes, 2 potatoes, green beans, 1 onion, bread, cost us $41. We could have gotten more but that was enough to spend. Bottom line. Good quality. Good selection. But you're going to pay for it. We like Szalays and will go back. Just be aware of what you can afford.
