We have now proceeded to file an action in small claims court to get our deposit back. The long version: We hired Ulster Overhead on May 5th to install a new garage door. They deposited our check on May 13th. They informed us it would take about two weeks for the project to be completed. When we tried to call to get an update on their status, their mailbox was always full. Their voicemail says that you can text them, but they would not respond to our text messages. By mid-July, Wyatt reached out to us, only after I made a Facebook post asking for advice on how to get this company to respond. He said they were still waiting for a few missing parts and would update us soon. We never got an update, and he never responded to our texts for THREE MORE MONTHS. By this point, I started reading other reviews of people who have experienced a similar situation with them. On October 3rd, I sent a certified letter which got returned for an "invalid mailing address." October 7th, Wyatt finally responded after multiple other texts saying he would get the door installed "this upcoming week." He did not come nor did he respond to multiple requests for him to give me an install date. October 17th, Wyatt texted that he would come Thursday or Friday, and would get back with the exact date after he could. He never came and never texted back. I gave him one more chance and said he had until 10/31 to install the door or we would file an action in small claims court to get our deposit back. He wrote back saying he should be able to get it done by the weekend. He did not come and did not communicate with us again since then.
