Ali Usta serves the Real Döner (not to be confused by the places in the United States serving the previously frozen Gyros stuff). The Döner is freshly prepared, roasted and skillfully sliced. I ordered the classic version where the Döner is served in a plate and covered with Lavash bread freshly baked in the tandoori ovens in the premises. The classic version comes with salad, rice and fries. It was so yummy that I ordered a second portion. So if you are in Istanbul and have craving for Döner or simply wondering what to do on your 3 hour layover at Atatürk Airport, visit Ali Usta and enjoy the Döner !

Very clean bathrooms were a bonus downstairs also. Food was served quickly with an excellent portion size. I ordered the beef wrap and fries with a Pepsi. It was supposed to have been a small lunch, but was actually very filling. I will say the meat could've used a sauce. Something to cut all the grease that it was covered in. I did try someone else's chicken and it was even more in need of a flavorful sauce. That being said, it is served with ketchup and mayonnaise, which is familiar to us, but not the sauce I had in mind. Overall though, great first stop.
