She is cheap! But unfortunately, she is also a liar. When you let her do your taxes, you're gambling. She may get it right, but if she gets it wrong, the buck stops with you! I now owe NJ $650 due to a clear input error, and she's claiming that the State is to blame, saying they made a mistake on their end that affects 58% of residents. Well, that's just a flat-out lie. The only thing I can do now is pay the $650 and add another one-star review to warn others about the risk you're taking. The moment you walk into the office, you'll start talking yourself off the ledge. I convinced myself that I hate doing my taxes and just wanted someone else to handle them. Description of Complaint: AVOID USING THISACCOUNTANT FOR YOUR TAXES!!! We filed our taxes in April of this year with Irene. We have NOT received our return and it is OCTOBER. We don't even have evidence that Irene even filed them correctly for us. We paid for her services for NOTHING?? I've tried calling and sending emails all month; her voicemail says she has been in an accident, and her daughter is simply replying to people's reviews on here. Please read this before getting stuck with your company Taxes. Please read the past reviews. Irene I believe is the owner, she is always busy with somebody else and always complaining about her staff. We requested to assisted to completed the taxes from 2020 and she always responds with an attitude about the request. When it comes to taxes it is something a bit delicate and to feel that you give annoyance to your accountant that apart from giving you the attitude you are paying for it, I think it is not fair. Irene is terrible. Stay away from this woman. I run a nonprofit organization and she told me that she filed my taxes only to get a notice from the IRS that my nonprofit status was revoked. That's because she never filed my taxes for 3 years. When I went to talk to her she just blew me off and now she never returns my phone calls. The foundation I run is in memory of my son who passed away but she couldn't care less. It cost me about $2000 to get reinstated. She should not be in business, I sat with her in February 2023 to go over some tax amendments, I gave her all of my paperwork and never heard back from her again. Like all the other reviews Irene Czarnecki should not be preparing clients taxes. She was referred by a friend and I took this at face value and didn't do my Do diligence. I have filled a complaint hopefully people read these reviews and save yourself some serious time. Below is what I am dealing with, Irene text me today 4.25.2023 with more of her pathetic excuses. I will continue to Hold Irene Accountable Czarnecki Accounting prepared my 2021 and 2022 taxes. I reside in NY and work in NJ & file taxes for both states. I completed the 2022 taxes 2.2023,as of April 2023 I had not received either refund. I found an automated number to call for both states, they had not received my filing of taxes for 2022. I went to Czarnecki office,  her daughter resent 2022 taxes 4.14.2023 originally filling were not sent, many excuses given. I have a conformation number, never received this "acceptance number" before. I have been dealing with 2021 NY taxes refund for 14 months, unrelated to Czarnecki. With pandemic apparently there was a great deal of fraud with unemployment claims, well our NY taxes were effected. Took a great deal of time to work through this, still dealing with it. As I understand the unemployment fraud is satisfied with documents we sent in a few times, what a pain. April 14,2023 I spent 7 + hours with NY state taxation, I spoke with a man that put the dots together why my refund is held up for NY. The NY & NJ W2 numbers were inverter for 2021. This is directly because Irene transposed them incorrectly. He couldn't see 2022 taxes, because there were just sent that day and not in the system yet. The same numbers are inverted for 2022.Seem to be a simply fix with an amended filed. I went yo Czarnecki Monday 4.17,2023,day before taxes are due. Irene Czarnecki Accounting prepared my 2021 and 2022 taxes. I called Czarnecki Accounting, no answer. Monday 4.17,2023 I went to Czarnecki office, she was in her office ,spoke with daughter for the second time. Ask for my simple fix to be addressed today. Of course I was blasted with many excuses, this is their MO. The daughter wrote my situation in a book and said "we would be in 4.20.2023 and back 4.25.2023" I called 4.20.2023 left a message. Today 4.25 2023,I went to Czarnecki 11.30 am, the office door was unlocked, no one was there. I left a note with all my information, text and voice mail too. I don't anticipate I'll receive a response. I need to resolve my 2021 & 2022 taxes. A tax preparer is paid to do a rather simple job ( in my case) of preparing taxes for two years. Both year taxes were completed incorrectly. This matter has not been addressed. At the very least this is unprofessional and borderline incompetent. I was audited by the IRS for my 2021 taxes. turns out she filed my social security wrong and instead of getting money back I now owe $3k. I have called over and over again with no call back. I will be filing a complaint against her formally. stay away!!! read more

Please stay away from this lady. She filed our taxes for 2019 and made a crucial error that costs us over $4k. I called and called the office and she doesn't answer nor returns emails. When I finally do get a hold of her, she's promises to send the IRS paperwork and swears its just a clerical error but they keep adding interest to my bill. I ask her to send me a copy of what she send them and she says sure...never received anything, call and ask her to email me what she sent them, she says sure....never sends the email. I had to pay another cpa who looked over her work and said yeah she made a mistake and added your wife's name on your W2. Now I owe the IRS over $4k. 2018 was great, this year no. We spoke twice in July and I was told it's in my drawer call me in a week. August was crazy and so I called again in September. I was told all returns had been finished in June. We agreed I would pick up at a specific date and time. I left my family and father on hospice care to drive an hour. Door was locked when I got there. Supposedly her daughters couldn't find my return on her desk that was there the day before. Another lie? Who cares if I'm a care giver for my dying father other people have things going on too. Not a nice person, talked over me and then called me rude when I had to assert myself. Never again!!! Irene did my taxes for the year 2017 and I had no issues. She even filed an extension because the deadline had come. We had a seamless phone call afterwards to review our taxes that year and everything went great. This year, I contacted her to complete my taxes again. I was emailed to say that due to the upcoming deadline, she would have to complete another extension and we'd complete it afterwards. I called the office several times to arrange an appointment and was given a phone appointment to review our taxes. I was called by irene the day before the meeting to call her office on the following monday because her daughter had prom. I agreed. I called several times afterwards. I finally received a call back from Irene herself who confirmed an appointment . The day came for the appointment and she never called. I continued to call the office, call her cell/text cell number and I never received a response. However her voicemail was either full or a message of the office was closed for vacation. However, obviously they were receiving messages because the away messages kept being changed. She is not reliable! Yeah she will do your taxes for cheap but at what cost? Now it is September and I had to find another tax preparer. If I could report her to a tax preparer board I will. Use her at your own risk!! read more

Not only does she make mistakes on your returns but does NOT return phone calls or address any issues that you may have. My husband and I were referred to her by a friend of ours. She is extremely lazy, RUDE, useless, and sloppy; it truly shows when trying to get any type of answers/help from her. She filed our taxes March 26th and we were told that we should have our refunds within two weeks - needless to say, it is now the middle of June and still NO refunds. After trying to contact her consistently for over a week during the second week of April with no answer, response or call back even after leaving messages, FINALLY she got back to us saying that she would look into it and to text her all of our information. After sending her a text, she notified us that she typed my husband's social security number wrong. She went ahead to have his social security number corrected, and told us that we would have our taxes in two weeks. AGAIN, two weeks came and went, STILL no refund. Constantly reaching out to her to find out where our taxes are or any updates, she continues to say that she is out of the office and will find out the next day. She has no urgency to find out what happened or where our money is. Any mention of her actually calling the IRS, she claims that she is on hold all day and unable to speak to someone (I find that extremely hard to believe!!!!) Finally two days before Memorial Day weekend, she claims she had to drive to Parsippany IRS to hand our taxes in and that we should receive them two weeks from 5/31/2016. It is now 6/16/2016, we still have no refunds, no answers, and no idea where our money is!!! When I try to find out our refund status online or on the phone, I am told there is no record! How much longer do we have to annoy her, constantly call/hang up, send multiple texts and receive no answers!!!!!! Needless to say, DO NOT USE HER FOR ANY REASON - unless you love to nag someone constantly all day every day only to receive no answers, help or guidance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the 2nd year we've used Irene to prepare our taxes and we're very pleased with the outcome. Our return has both self employed income and W-2 income and is on the complicated side. Irene has done an amazing job with our return (she is also amending old returns because she found errors in them), she always asks a million questions so we get all possible write offs. The first year I met her at her office and walked out with our return. This year it was done virtually and it was seamless. I will agree with other reviews, it does take a few calls to reach her, she's legitimately a busy woman but she always calls, emails or text's me back. I call her through out the year with questions and she's always available and gives me great advice. She's very good at what she does and she's busy because of it. I'd rather have someone with her experience and hustle working on my taxes than someone that has plenty of time to call me back and chit-chat. I like Irene because she doesn't sugar coat anything, she tells me straight up how it is, she's direct, gets right to the point and doesn't waste my time. If you want "fluff and fancy office experience" go elsewhere, if you want your taxes done with skill, knowledge and expertise you call Irene. Her prices are very reasonable, in the past I paid 3 times as much and did not get half the competency I get with Irene. I'd give her 10 stars if I could -she's always done right by us. read more

I had my taxes done and electronically filed on 2/12/19. I had my Federal within 2 weeks. After waiting just over 3 months for my NJ refund, I contacted the state directly. I was advised that there was an error on the return, and that instead of receiving over $700, I actually owed over $300. The gentleman Mike explained the problem, and advise me to contact Irene. I called as soon as I hung up with the state, and the secretary stated, "I will tell her now." I never heard back from them, and over the past 11 days I had contacted the office 17 times, yes 17 times. I never received a call back, a text message, or email. Upon speaking with the state again, Mike advised me that he had spoken to Irene and that she was going to send the paperwork that he needed that afternoon. The paperwork was never sent! Today I contacted Mike yet again, and was advised of the documents he needed. I then faxed the said documents the problem was corrected. I am dissatisfied with the service, because when there was an issue she failed to rectify it. I paid for a service, and ended up having to correct it myself. During the 17 calls to the office, I left messages and at times the voicemail was full. However when I called again, I was able to leave the message... Clearly indicating that someone had in fact been checking the messages. If I were able two rate less than one star I would have! I will now have to pay someone else to have my federal return double-checked!! read more
