The proprietress was very accomadating and pleasant. The breakfasts were served in a pleasant sunroom and were delicious. A good choice for the money if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room. Location is excellent.

I liked this little hotel even though my room was quite small, I had no intention of doing anything…read morethere but sleep. I liked the mother / daughter owners because they were so 'French'. For my hotel breakfast I had croissant, baguette, a sweet roll, jellies and honey, a clementine and hot chocolate. I was served a small pot of liquid chocolate and a larger pot of steamed milk. It was delicious. The deaf, house dachshund (named Funey) stopped by for a good morning pet. When I go back to Montpellier, I will stay again.

This does not, fellow Yelpers, make it a ***** hotel or even a **** hotel, or even "palatial" (that 'du Palais' thing noteithstanding). Every room is a little different & the access to your toilet may be a little funky. Wifi fades in and out so this is probably not a place to hang out & stream movies all night. But why would you want to with Montpellier just out your door? The lesson from this review: Learn your * ratings & adjust expectations accordingly.

Hotel is a bit hard to find even with GPS but that is more the city's issue than the hotel. Area around hotel is nice and full of younger people. Not much activity on the streets surrounding the hotel but it is a saturday and almost holiday time in France, late july. Private car park is free and wonderful. Make sure you have a small car to get around the streets

I've given a 2star hotel 4 ! It deserves it…read more Clean, friendly, lovely breakfasts and they let you practise your 30 year old school French on them! It's a short walk to the old town and the helpful and knowledgable staff can tell you where/how/what to go and see. THe town itself is full of hidden alleys and corners, tempting you to diverge off your chosen path and even (it seems) deliberately taking you somewhere else! Fortunately it's a manageable town centre and you always end up somewhere you recognise! A couple of fab markets too which we used for lunch things. Downsides? None for the hotel - it's lovely except it would be nice to have an evening meal there. For the town - its expensive for coffee! And wine!! And don't bother with the walking tour. We had to give up as the guide was horrible and didn't follow the procedure of letting us know where on the map we were. She only had to say numbers in French; I wasn't expecting any special treatment but she made it perfectly clear that she didn't want 'foreigners' there! xx
