Quite cheap for the quality and the amount of food you get. Staff is very friendly. You should try the pizza once as well next to the typical mezze dishes. They are different from the traditional Italian pizzas and quite tasty! read more

One sandwich will cost you around €4.50 and you have so many options - my favorite is the bresaola on focaccia with olive oil and lemon juice and my husband always orders the vitello tonnato. If I'm not in the mood for sandwiches I'll order a slice of fresh pizza which goes for €2.50 for a quarter slice. Dinner: Where to begin! So many pastas and other dishes that you can take home to enjoy later for dinner. Often I will come by on a Friday and just buy a lot of meat, cheese, and olives to enjoy with a fresh loaf of ciabatta. With the leftovers I like to use them as toppings for homemade pizza the next evening. Il Pastaiola also boasts a great Italian wine offering to compliment your meal. Everything I've tried had been delicious! Don't forget that Fridays and Saturdays are super busy and you need to take a number. You also can find the menu online and call ahead if you're short on time!

You really have no feeling that you are in a pizzeria, what so ever. Since I'm by myself I'm having no trouble sitting at the bar (YES! Finally a Belgian restaurant where you can sit at the bar). I received the menu quickly and got presented the specials for the evening. They have great wines by the glass so I order a white 6 Mura and pizza with rucola, Parmesan and Italian ham. When they bring my 7.5 EUR glass of wine, I'm a bit disappointed. The glass was barely filled. I understand when you serve special wines by the glass they are a tad more expensive but this is just to little. But OK, I won't bother myself and as a good Yelper, I check in. FYI: Asked for the WIFI-password! They will be happy to give it to you! Immediately a friend (Bart D) responds if he can join me with friend (Myriam G). Off course they can join so I ask the waitress if it's OK if they join me for a glass. That won't be a problem but they have to within the hour because they are fully booked which we understand off course. When Bart sees my pizza, he just can't let it pass by and orders one for himself too. The staff didn't really bother that and took his order. We had a couple drinks more and the staff never really asked us to leave until 2 hours later. Which is a big plus knowing that they at first wanted us out within the hour. When the bill arrived... I was thinking on faking a heart attack... Although I guess i had a small one when i saw it. 2 wines, 1 pizza and 1 Montenegro liquor (AMAZING taste) has cost me 40 EUR! And i wasn't even drunk. But i had a great time, the pizza was great and the wines where very tasteful nonetheless there wasn't much in the glass.

Fresh, so fresh!…read more That is the best way I can describe the food you get on your plate. Besides the fact that it has an open kitchen so you can see how they are preparing your dish, you can taste the freshness of their ingredients that are visible in the counter. The pasta itself is cooked as it should. If you bite it, it feels tender in the mouth, yet with a little bite to it. Just how it supposed to be. (Instead of that mushy pasta most places serve.) Every week there are new pasta suggestions. And the pizza's? they stick to the basics, that way you'll also taste the toppings AND the pizza itself. You can surely taste the difference with other pizza places. Deffinitely a must go! The price range of pizzas & pastas is between €13 - €18 (give or take..)

They have an amazing wood oven (394C by the temperature reader! ) and the pizzas were very tasty. I strongly recommend their pesto sauce with mozzarella and the toppings of your choice (mushrooms, peppers, & arugula for me). The only reason I wouldn't give a 5th star is due to my feeling that the marinara sauce is spread a bit thin on the crust and doesn't quite give the flavor impact I would like but it's a minor criticism for an otherwise great little pizza shop. The wait staff were incredibly helpful and made several suggestions but I ended up with the Flemish Stew because that's what I came in for. Being from the US all that extra gravy would have been great with mashed potatoes but their standard side is an order of French fries.
