That's where DCH actually differs. DCH is a trading group in HK with a huge motor division; they are the official importer for a number of brands with one of the biggest service centres. In the past they had sold their trade in vehicles through smaller dealerships but this practice has changed with the introduction of this Used Car Centre. These are all vehicles which have been either taken part-exchange or used by the DCH group, with that it comes with warranties that differs depending on the vehicle but it is their guarantee that matters. Their guarantee is that the vehicles have not been clocked and in anyway masked for problems- this is a breakthrough locally as in the past buying used always had its inherent dangers and nothing was ever guaranteed. The cars do vary in brands, so they stock not only the brands they deal with but other vehicles too. One of the apparent things that should hit you is that the cars have not been prepped in anyway, they sit there the way came in which depending on how you look at it may be a good thing or bad thing. The prices are also on the high side with no room for negotiation, but again you are buying a peace of mind that money can't buy else where. One major criticism with the place is that its a big place and its difficult to get to speak to someone if you are interested. Again, that may be a good thing in the sense that there is no one to bug you whilst you take your time. To sum up, if you are in the market for a second hand car you should go take a look here.

Keepree Pro is Japanese brand that was brought over to Hong Kong a couple of years ago, their marketing gimmick being that they offer a "no-touch" foam wash where by instead of strips of cloth turning on a roller, they have this huge foan sprayer that would "wash" or coat your car without so much as a fibre touching your car. This keeps it clean and avoid unintentional scratching by the rollers. Does it work? Hell yes. If there was a place to watch a car wash this would be the place. The shop floor isn't huge but in all honesty they keep it exceptionally clean, there is no clutter of any form in the working area and this is quite rare in Hong Kong. Moreover, they do stick to their world when it comes to giving the ultimate care not to scratch your vehicle, the foam system seems to work really well here. Judging from the other cars that were parked there waiting to be waxed (which by the way was also a miracle maker); this place must perform quite well. Aside from the machine itself, the meticulous attention they pay to every sill and corner in the vehicle is also a bonus point. Around 4 people work on your car in cleaning both the interior and drying the car. Brilliant. What are the downsides? Its not cheap- 180 HKD for a complete wash is on the high side but given the part of the town its in (middle of Wanchai) I am willing to pay the premium for the location. Apart form that, queues are often quite long and that means you either keep doing circles around the block to wait for them to take your car (they do run out of space to take your car on). If you are really into detailing your car then you might say you can do it yourself. But if you are in town and looking for a good clean wash of your car then look no further.

Well a) its a petrol station there really isn't anything to remember and b) its one that I come to most frequently. The second one demands more elaboration, I have been coming to this station for some 12 years now and there is a good reason why I come here all the time: I reckon this is one of the best filling stations in town. Its convenient: Its situated in Prince Edward on Boundary Road- this is the main thoroughfare from West Kowloon to East Kowloon so you really can't miss it. Moreover, it is very well connected to road going northbound (Shatin) and southbound (TST) so you really can go anywhere from here. Its big: Hong Kong is a small place and filling stations can sometimes be one that's been carved into the side of a building complex. This one is a proper size one, with some 4 lanes of vehicles that could fill up simultaneously. It has a proper shop that sells everything from washer liquids to bags of rice so it will feed both you and the car. It has everything: You can take your time and pump up your tires here; plenty of space to do it too and there's a tap down the back so people come and wash their cars here. Need I say more?

I had called around the area for quotes and this was better with everyone else's plus a friend had his car fixed here before so I picked this one. They immediately knew where the problem was when I explained. He explained everything he was going to do and made sure I understood and agreed with. Honest, fast, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. I appreciated that he didn't try to up sell and just said exactly whats needed to be done and nothing more. Its a family owned garage and their service was great, they came and picked up the car in the morning and returned it when I was going home after work. I didn't even need to get to their shop! I would recommend this family owned business as the place to go if you need to have some car fixing or service. Its an overdue review, so sorry for late review but better now then never.

There are a couple of factors that makes a good carpark: good access, wide spaces and good signage. This place doesn't do well in any of those factors despite the fact that this place only opened its doors around 15 years ago. The carpark is spread over some 4 levels with 1 level dedicated exclusively to monthly pass users whilst another level is now blocked off as a used car sales area. The monthly fees have been rumored to be exorbitant so much so that monthly owners have been scared away by and large; leaving this carpark largely under used. Further controversy was brought when the management company leased out the carpark as a used car sales area without permission from the Lands Department. The sales floor is quite small and it focuses on older and cheaper cars as opposed to the other used car centres in Hong Kong. The access to the carpark is through two chopstick narrow bridges which is counter-intuitive at best. On every level you will find that the first swaths of parking spaces are out of use because there simply isn't enough space for two lanes of traffic to pass. Signage is poor and you are always trying to find your way in and out of the place and the wait for elevators down is glacial at best.

Public transportation is expensive though. It is around 6 dollars from Sha Tin MTR to HKSTP by minibus. You do that two times a day and it adds up. People here are very very very shy. They do not disclose of what they are working on to you. I came from Silicon Valley and this is not the same culture we are used to. Everyone here is doing something great and should share to the world what they're doing. The staff at HKSTP are really trying to make things work for us. However, they have a misconception about the entrepreneurs. They try to do all these 'fun' events like X-mas parties, but turns out no one goes. Actually no one gives a hell because all we do is just work and go home. Decor is nice. Very techy. Even has a Tesla charging station in the carpark.

Carparks are actually quite difficult to comment on in the sense that there is very little to talk…read moreabout- they are functional buildings and rarely is there any particular flair that goes with something as bland as rows and rows of spaces. This is no different- the no.4 car park at Chep Lap Kok International Airport is, as its name suggests, a car park. So why am I writing about it? That's because this is the carpark that less people know about. Everybody usually heads to the no.1 and 2 open air ones because that's the first one you come across when you leave the highway. Its only for short term parking though and in most cases it is filled with people doing quick pick ups and on busy days its chaotic to say the least. This multistoried one is different in both sense- its covered (great for Hong Kong's rainy season), it has a lot more spaces and this is the one you have to go to if you are parking long term. I have had to do a lot of pick ups this summer because of travelling family members and the advantage of using this carpark is that on the (2) level there is a pick up point that leads you directly (via a short walk through an air conditioned passage) into the arrival hall. That spares you having to wait for the lifts which you do at no.1 & 2. Its also a much shorter walk if you have to pick someone up from arrival hall A- those who fly from CLK will know what I mean. Just remember that if you have to park long term you may have to approach the parking attendants first.
