Horrible. Brought in my new bike to get a slight bend out of the derailer hanger. They ended up trying to replace the thing (one month old) citing it is worn and the chain is in terrible condition also. Neither of which is true. Absolute dishonest rip off merchants, stay away they will charge you for stuff you don't need! read more

I have used cyclestreet quite a bit for 4 of my bikes from tweeking the gears to stripping down my rear hub to find it was shot even though a bike shop in Scotland missed the problem and charged me £40 for the privilage. This is a typicle small shop where you get proper customer service. I wil be using cyclesteet for a lot longer. Kevin G read more

I recently had my 7 year old gazelle in for an overhaul service and it came back better than new! Seriously. After been ridden daily, its been languishing unloved in the shed for the past couple of years after having children,( me not the bike) and when ever I did ride it, didn't enjoy it as it was creaky and clunky. I now love my bike again! The staff were helpful and friendly - when I took the bike in the staff looked a what may need doing and advised on how much the visible replacement parts would be ( mudguards and a tyre) giving me different options with different prices to choose from. During the service they rang to advise a chain needed replacing and was it OK to go ahead. When my bike was ready I got a helpful text saying it was ready to collect . They were also helpful when I went to get a helmet for my little girl. read more

To be honest I don't really like to give bad feedback as I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I found Cycle Street's servicing skills pretty well below par. I live down the road from Cycle Street so decided to give them a try after first moving in 4 months ago, initially I had my own bike which needed work doing and another bike for my girlfriend that needed a tune up/service. Starting with my bike it had slipping gears, certain gears wouldn't go in and the brakes were rattling. It was suggested I needed a new cassette and chain, which in itself is fine if the work needs doing, that's fine, and a general tune up for the brakes. I left it with them for a week and collected the bike, but unable to ride the bike due to the very cold spell in January/February I rode it a couple of weeks or so afterwards. In my opinion the work I requested was not done correctly at all. Yes they had fitted a new cassette and chain as they recommended but the gears still do not change very quickly, occassionally slip (though a lot less than previously) and most importantly they still don't change into certain positions. Additionally I was told the brake disc needed straightening (which they apparently did) to stop the noise, but that is still present. The most laughable thing about the whole service was the fact that they didn't even fit the handle bars back in line with the wheel, so I have to point them right slightly to go straight. The privilage of this service was just under £95. Onto the second bike it just needed a general service as the brakes weren't pulling tight enough and the gears didn't change very well. I was told this would be £25 for a standard service, fair enough. But when my girlfriend collected it they charged her £45, which is absolutely disgraceful. If Cycle Street had bothered to call, and they were left contact details, to maybe mention that it required work or parts above the service they quoted for and were then proceeded to do work for that price that would be fine but they didn't. All in all I'm very unhappy with their service and would definately not recommend them, indeed at least 2 people have been disuaded from using them due to my own experience.
