I just moved to Victoria and was looking to buy a new commuter bike - a friend recommended…read moreFairfield. I couldn't be happier with my experience. The staff aren't pushy or pretentious. They aren't in a rush or on commission. I got a great new bike and returned a couple weeks later with a vintage bike that needed some repairs. They're just as happy replacing a jockey wheel on a 40 year-old 5-speed as they are selling a new bike. And they have a crazy inventory of hard-to-find parts. There are some strict protocols in place to protect staff and customers during the pandemic but their easy-going attitude crushes any annoyance that they create. Top shelf. Highly recommend.

Fairfield sold me a Terra Trike Tandem Pro. with a motor assist four years ago…read more THIS BIKE WILL NOT RUN WITH A MOTOR ASSIST THE WAY IT COMES FROM THE MANUFACTURER! I've replaced the whole drivetrain, = IPS, back wheel, bottom Bracket, chain, + all gears/cogs/cassette  + I've added a backup battery. I went from 30 gears down to two, one for flat out and one for hills (there isn't a hill this bike won't climb!!) It will travel at 16,20,30 km hr. (depending on the motor setting, 1st 2nd 3rd) from 10 to 12 hours a day with or without pedaling, TWO PEOPLE!! I did all this, WITH NO HELP WHAT SO EVER FROM FAIRFIELD!!! Bottom line: From my first (and last) experience with Fairfield's service department, It is of my opinion that, they (Fairfield) are running a make work program, either that or their mechanic is not a real mechanic! (stop me on the trail! I'll show you my proof!) Ray Make Note: I had to give them one star to post this.

The guy who works there is extremely knowledgeable and will help answer all your questions and find a bike that's right for you and your needs. They also let you put your kids in the bike and ride it around the block, which is really nice, given these bikes can get expensive, being able to try it out is so key. I don't know of another place even close to these guys in BC in terms of the breadth of different brands/bicycles stocked in this particular market segment. If you've even toyed with the idea of getting a bike like this, just swing by this place. You won't regret it. They also have a store in Victoria and I'm sure it's just as great because it's the same guy who commutes up and back between the 2 stores with half the week in Vancouver and half in Victoria.
