CycleBar Classen Curve is so welcoming and friendly, so if you've never been don't be scared to try it out! Your first ride is free and you'll want to show up 10-15 minutes early to get all set up. Your first ride the staff writes your name on a locker and gives you a CB water bottle to keep. They help get your bike adjusted and you clipped in. Everyone is so patient and while it's a class you can go at your own pace. The lights are dimmed so there's no feeling self conscious or embarrassed. You schedule your rides through the app and they are always doing special or fun challenges. If you're looking for a fun workout that will leave you inspired and sweaty then check out CycleBAr Classen Curve.

In the year(s) of the studio making its surge, Cyclebar has taken Oklahoma City by storm. We have many, many selections when it comes to fitness centers. Cyclebar knows how to treat the customer, from their friendly hello at the door to the fruit and water options before/after class to the stats email you receive immediately after class, this place has my heart! It has full bathrooms with towels, soap, shampoo, even disposable razors. CB provides shoes, towels and everything you need. Some classes fill up very fast but continue to check the app as space typically becomes available within 2-6 hours of the scheduled class time.

I tried out CycleBar in NoLa and didn't like it, so wasn't thrilled when I saw it was the new cycle studio going in on Classen Curve. However, I am a huge fan of spin classes so thought I'd try it out while visiting my boyfriend in OKC. It was fantastic!!! Great instructor, good music, and I love the quantitative monitoring (can you tell I'm an engineer?). Shoes provided and they even gave me a water bottle because I forgot mine. The only thing I would like to see would be to turn down the brightness setting on the TVs so it feels darker during the lights off power sessions. Very impressed! Thanks for a great workout.

Cyclebar kicks ass. I've only been once but can't wait to return. If you want to get in shape and clear you're head it's an amazing workout.

There are at least two unhoused people who use this gym for their toilet and shower needs, so often (especially early mornings) you'll come in and two of the three bathrooms will be occupied for quite some time. It's really not fair to the rest of us who are actually there to work out. Neither of the guys is overly threatening, but it is unsettling to have people come in in street clothes, usually carrying multiple bags, just wandering around or sitting in the lobby and then leaving without even exercising. Especially considering there are no lockers--only cubbies. One of the unhoused people drives a pickup full of garbage (sometimes with a travel trailer attached--which appears to be what he lives in), and will bring bags of the garbage in and out with him for no reason. He behaves extremely bizarrely, strikes up uncomfortable conversations with people who are just there to work out, walks around making strange martial arts like moves, and sometimes just hovers at the doors waiting to chat people up as they come in. I feel bad for the guy. I really do. But his behavior is unsettling, and he comes in and out multiple times per day. It makes people feel unsafe, and the owner has been notified multiple times with nothing done about it. I get that technically the guy is a paying member with a fob, but he can't be allowed to just come in and out, behaving bizarrely, and bothering people.

I recently came to the realization that I'm not a college student who gets to keep eating like crap…read more(or like a Yelper) and not have it affect things like my waist, or how my clothes fit. It took a while for me to come to terms with it. Either I have to start eating healthily, or I have to exercise. Ideally both. And since I like food too much to survive on stupid things like salads, it looks like physical exercise is the only alternative. So here's me trying. Or at least pretending to try. Anyway, "INTEGRIS PACER Fitness Center" is no longer a thing. It is now known as the "YMCA Healthy Living Center - INTEGRIS." A mouthful, yes. So call it HLC instead. Because of its cardiology-rehab focus, HLC tends to have greater numbers of elderly people than the average gym. This can be a boon for some: (1) There are few if any meat-heads grunting and throwing weights. (2) Classes when available tend to have plenty of room so you can just slide in even if you show up late (the classes are upstairs). (3) And old people tend to be much friendlier than us stuck-up young folk. (4) I also like that it's a pretty quiet gym. There's no pool, so that's certainly lacking compared to other locations. But there is a racquetball court. If you're expecting Gold's Gym, you will be disappointed. If you need to be surrounded by people going on about "all kinnnnndsss of gains" (and/or gym bunnies who don't actually work out) to feel like it's worth your time, this may not be the gym for you. Even if the equipment isn't the latest, super-techie, new hotness, they're all well-maintained and clean, and do everything you need them to do. Also, it's like... 14 laps around the track to equal one mile or something. Which is largely useless, because I always lose count at about the 7th or 8th time around. The rehab-focus is expected to continue even with the changes, so I don't expect to see too many changes in the overall feel of the gym, but we'll have to wait and see to be sure. Also... because of the greater than usual number of older folk, I have seen some very confident older men confidently strutting about in their confidently confident birthday suits. I have seen things... Wrinkled things... I hope I'm that bold when I'm older... P. S. There's this trainer named Kelly. I'm not sure if she trains at any of the other Y's or if she's only at HLC, but Mother of Pearl, she is good. Her muscle conditioning classes have been amazing. That DOMS tho... Consistently taking her (or other trainers') classes should allow you to continue being the food-obsessed Yelper that you are.

Ohhhh YMCA. My…read moreprevious membership at another gym ended, and I didn't really love it. I figured I'd start running outside and save money, but I wasn't quite as motivated to do that as I thought. I searched for gyms near me and the obvious answer (Golds, Planet Fitness) were a hard pass. I'm too old and too married for the nightclub that is Golds gym. And I loathe PF so much, I've contemplated picketing outside. Enter the Y. I don't think I'd joined before cause I was young and cheap and looking for promos that waive the joining fee and obviously matching all my workout gear and wanting to be cute). But now, bring it on. This specific location is mainly a cardio rehab center for Integris. Read: senior citizens, it's awesome. Literally no one cares what you look like or what you're doing. Most people are over the age of 50. It's so cute to watch them come in and chat and walk the track. There are also a TON of classes, just like a regular Y. The spin class is tough, and I've loved it. They're also at alllll times of day, starting at 5:40am, perfect for the commuter like me. The rest of the equipment is minimal, but just enough. There's free weights, machines, ad area and a small turf track. Bikes, ellipticals, treadmills and even a Jacobs Ladder. The front desk is nice. And there are complimentary towels. I knocked a star for equipment cleanliness. ::sigh:: I actually mentioned it to the front desk today and now I probably am going to be blackballed but it's pretty gross. They have spray so you can wipe down your machine after you use it, but it looks like that's as far as the cleaning goes. At least on the machines I've used (cardio). The guy said the staff cleans them regularly so I'm sure he thinks I'm a huge biotch (I tried to approach it nicely!) but I use the same elliptical every time. And every time there are sweat stains along the bottom, and he same stuck on brown stuff. I used my towels to wipe the back and black grime came off. It's visible to the naked eye and it really grosses me out. Not enough to quit, but I really hope they'll clean a little better!
