I redid the painting and window repair myself and the paint matched and the leaks stopped. I know absolutely nothing about home repair. Tim is exactly the kind of contractor every homeowner hopes to find…read more When we bought our home, the inspector found condensation in the crawl space and warned us about the risk of mold. They suggested we hire an electrician to install a dehumidifier. That's how we originally called Tim, just to put in an outlet. But when I found out it would involve cutting into the house, I wasn't comfortable with that approach. What stood out about Tim right away is that he didn't just dive into the task--he took a step back to really understand what we were trying to solve. He listened carefully, and instead of rushing to do what was asked, he gave us thoughtful advice. Tim explained that what we truly needed wasn't just an outlet or a quick fix, but French drains to properly address the moisture and drainage problem. It was clear he was an expert in many areas, not just electrical work. Tim and his team of three worked diligently for three days. They were quiet, respectful, and incredibly thorough. Honestly, we often forgot they were even there because they were so mindful of our space. The work was done steadily and with such attention to detail that the results are better than anything the house originally came with. We are so thankful to have found such an intelligent, trustworthy person. Tim will be our first call for any future projects--we couldn't be happier with his work.

I don't know how to express in words what a great experience we had with Sparks Remodeling, and…read morewith Joshua in particular. Five stars is not really enough to get across how happy we are with his work. Earlier this summer, we found ourselves in a position no one wants to be in: dealing with an unexpected family loss. Compounding this situation was the fact that it occurred in a city that was not our own. Moving forward from this experience was going to be hard enough, but it also came with some pretty substantial home repair/renovation projects that needed to be done ASAP. Doing so in a town that is not our residence, and with contractors with whom we were not familiar, made it even more challenging. Through Yelp, we took a chance on finding a contractor to do a test run with a small but time-sensitive project, and Joshua came through with a really great bid and personal touch. His communication was exceptional, and his personality stood out in both in our online communication and again when we met in person. Most importantly, the care and commitment he brought to even this small project, plus the humanity and empathy he showed us during a really difficult time, made all the difference. We relayed to him the scope of the home repairs needed going forward, and asked if they were within his comfort zone. When he responded positively, we told him he was our go-to guy for every project needed on that house, and that we trusted him implicitly to do the work independently. He didn't let us down. He sent photos of his progress and gave us honest appraisals of what could be done, and what prices would be for labor and materials. He worked on a tight timeline and got the work done on time and on budget. Moreover, the quality of the work that he did approaches the level of artisan, not just contractor, to the point where I'd employ him for our own home projects if it was at all possible (it's not, sadly). I don't know what else I can say to relay our impressions of Joshua. He's the best contractor I've ever worked with, and I wish him nothing but success in the future. If you get a chance to work with him on a home project, consider yourself fortunate.

He wasn't intrusive in regards to the conversation my husband and I were having during the time he was there. Although, he was a good listener when I asked for things to be done or my concerns around the house. In the same vein, he wasn't trying to sale me the moon. When I would say I wanted something done down the road, he wouldn't push it. Also, Tom has great ideas like when we asked for a boarding gaming table which could be covered with leaflets. He also took into account our budget with some of my bigger ideas for the house. In all things pricing, he was very fair but conscious of his quality of work. Tom provides invoices for his service via email. He soon will be accepting cards as payment (available around 1/21/2020). If you are also looking for wood work/refurnished furniture or something of that nature, he is available. Also, his wife provides great décor for a reasonable price if you are looking to spruce up your home after his remodel/handyman work.
