In June of 2023 Bryan Huslinger installed two Andersen 400 Series Glider Doors at my home...a project total to me of $8,000.00. The following October cold air was streaming in my living area and moisture was forming inside. In the months to follow Bryan Huslinger was not willing to look at the issue, let alone remedy it. On several occasions the door supplier made some adjustments on the door without being able to remedy the issue. Andersen Corporation visited my home on three occasions, first a supervisor to assess, then two additional times, a technician to assess and then more adjustments. It was first determined that silicone was not placed under the doors, allowing cold air and moisture inside. This went on for nine months. During that time I corresponded back and forth with Bryan and he said he had health issues and could not do any physical work. I asked him to at least look at the project but he would not. In June of 2024 shortly before the installation warranty was going to expire, Bryan wanted to send a "sub" to slap some silicone around the inside of the doors, clearly to show that he made a lame effort after all of these months of doing nothing. The "sub" was someone doing Bryan a favor and was not told the doors had to be removed. The "sub" did not want to spend his time on a job that was more involved and he declined to do the work. Bryan was sarcastic throughout email correspondence. Prior to him sending his "sub" to my home I asked who the individual was, what his job title and experience was, and what his qualifications were to work on my $8,000.00 home project. I stated to Bryan that after asking him FIVE TIMES in an email, he still had not provided that information. Bryan's response was, "no I didn't he'll be there tomorrow." VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND A SMART ASS, during a time that I am dealing with the stress of a costly home project. In September of 2024, Andersen Corporation stepped in again to correct the issue. They removed the doors and frame to further discover that not only was there no silicone applied under the doors, but BRYAN HUSLINGER FAILED TO INSULATE ANYWHERE AROUND THE DOORS. ALL EMPTY SPACE ENCASED THE DOORS WHERE COLD AIR AND MOISTURE FLOWED INTO MY HOME. Huckleberry Contracting should thank their lucky stars that Andersen Corporation was gracious in remedying this issue as a good faith gesture and at no cost to me. Bryan Huslinger would otherwise have found himself in court. ONE STAR BECAUSE IT IS REQUIRED FOR POSTING REVIEW

Even with all of the tearing out of the old deck they kept a very clean work area and left the backyard very tidy at the end of each workday. We knew we wanted Trex. At first we had George work out a 50/50 project to quote. My wife and I liked George right off of the bat. Great guy and knows his stuff. His price was right in line with the others. His knowledge and pictures of previous work, sold us. Once the deck was underway, George made some suggestions. Yes, it was more money and yes, I started to get overwhelmed with cost. That was one me, not George. His price was more than fair. So, at one point, we decided to go "all in" with Trex and lights and nice railings..... George's team was awesome. They were efficient and clean. There was never garbage strewn around our yard. The entire project took a week and the end result was WAY beyond what we originally hoped for. An added bonus was the way George built the support for the decking. Our town inspector put it best.... "The support for this deck is beyond code." When we started planning, there weren't a lot of reviews for Deck Experts which worried me. I wanted to make sure to publish a review for anyone with doubts. I would recommend George and his crew to anyone looking for a deck build or redo. You will have zero regrets and as a salesman, George is informative not pushy. Trust his design and his finished work. You'll be more than pleased with the end result. -------HONEST TESTIMONIAL --- BEWARE---HONEST TESTIMONIAL--------…read moreIn my opinion, and according to the information provided to me by this businesses' answering service the owner name is Edwin Barros. This business used to go under Barros Inc. in Middletown, NY with the same owner and now goes by Barros Construction and Remodeling Inc. out of New Hampton, NY. Another consumer clue would be their website stating although it is a fairly new business, they are skilled. When I contacted the owner Edwin of Barros, Inc. for repair on a siding installation defect he advised that the business had moved and these two cities are close in distance. With this being said, I am now leaving a "real honest life" testimonial of my opinion on the company's workmanship. I hired and contracted Barros, Inc. for the work and had to spend more money for the repair of that work. The company was contracted for new siding installation, installing PVC boards, fascia soffit and new gutter installation. They failed to install flashing which is part of basic siding installation guidelines according to the NYS Vinyl Siding Institute Guidelines and Mastic Siding Manufacturer Guidelines and they left several holes in my new roof where the owner admitted his crew did not properly close after they hooked onto the house with scaffolding. At that time, his form of repairing the new roof was to have his worker lift the shingle and place a small piece of aluminum with tons of roofing glue and not replace the destroyed shingles. I then had to contract another business out to replace a total of 8 shingles. Barros, Inc. also failed to properly cut the length to the gutters and seal the gutters. I have leaking gutters that are an inch short in certain places. I have hired many contractors and this is on the lower end of workmanship. I recently called Edwin for repair and advised him of wind driven rain water being trapped behind the siding due to the lack of flashing on his installation. I asked him if his guys used flashing and he said that he did not know but he will come to the house to inspect by the end of that week. He did not show to inspect or repair. Barros, Inc. also used pictures of my home without written permission or a contract clause to advertise and market a high-end home as their primary pic on the website. The homeowner DID NOT give any business permission to use this home for advertisement and a marketing tool. This is a homeowners violation of right to publicity. This is a perfect example of what contractors with poor workmanship do in order to continue to practice and rip hard working people off. They add more title to the name of their business and change their location. This is solely my experience and I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. This is an honest review of someone who is absolutely sick of contractors with poor workmanship. Although NYS Law, says you have 6 years to take civil suit against a contractor for installation defects, I have learned that most people read reviews online rather then go to court and pay to request records. I have given the business an opportunity to fix the repairs and they failed to do so.
