CVS Pharmacy WENTZVILLE, MO HATES DOGS. Long read, but you won't believe how ridiculous this is.
I went to drop a prescription off for Pepper and they wouldn't accept it because it had a white sticker on it reading her name, breed, DOB, address etc. I was a little annoyed because she's gotten several prescriptions like this and no one has ever had a problem accepting it. I tell the pharmacist I'm going to have to make a 2.5 hour round trip drive with my babies to Columbia to pick up a new prescription and she was like "oh darn. Well, once you get the new prescription we can order it." (It's a controlled substance to manage her cough and they can't just call it in.)
Fast forward to today. I got a new prescription for her cough medication with no sticker. I load my infant twins up in the car, make the 1 hour round trip drive to CVS while they're screaming in the back seat the whole time. I drag them back into this same pharmacy for a 2nd time with my brand new sticker free prescription. I hand it to the tech and tell her "they always have to order this one and I don't mind waiting for it." Ironically, it's the same tech that was working the first time I was there. She leaves the register and goes to talk to the pharmacist. She comes back and says "we'll have to order it and it won't be in until next Wednesday or Friday." I reply "yes, no problem!" She then states the pharmacist says he's not ordering it because it's not a very popular prescription and they just had to expire a bunch of it out." I said "well, I'll be back for it once it comes in." Then I said "so the pharmacist can just decide whether or not they feel like ordering prescriptions for people?" She said "yes."
I would not have gone to CVS, but this is an extremely expensive prescription and they have it at the best price with GoodRX.
I hope that mean man that didn't feel like doing his job today never has to experience the stress and heartache of watching his beloved companion die of cancer and then get the run around on trying to get literally the only cough medication that makes her feel better.
Also, she's been on this medicine since March. I have not one single time encountered an issue getting it from any Walgreens. They've always been kind and helpful with ordering it. Before moving, we would get it at CVS in Columbia, MO. They were also compassionate and wonderful. However, CVS in Wentzville are a bunch of dog hating grinches. read more
