The staff at this location go above and beyond each time we visit. Prescriptions are filled quickly, the team is friendly and communicate clearly, and if something is amiss, they reach out to us. Ive been shopping at Meijer stores for quite sometime and I tell you, the past two years the location on Kalamazoo and 28th is by far the saddest representation of a pharmacy that I have ever seen. Everything from denying my prescription that had just been called in by my physician, to telling me to bring the old one that I paid for into the store to get the new one.....because...... why??? You totally go against an MD's prescribed medication by what authority? Oh because the floating pharmacist said "just in case, hold it for another day.....in case of what?? Also......." YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO MAKE THAT DECISION.... As you soon found out!! You do not answer the phones, you dont send out the computer automated messages to commmunicate with your customers about their medication status, oh and did I mention you DONT ANSWER THE PHONES?? I have been waiting 3 days for a medication that I never knew there was a problem about becasue no one bothered to let me know and I tried to check but a NATIONWIDE PHARMACY CHAIN DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONES.... This location is convenient because of gas prices but now I have to deal with that and go to a new pharmacy of a different origin because a multi-billion dollar corporation get can't get its services right. The people that work there are spot on doing the best they can, but whomever is running this location........well. I was on hold for over 20 minutes at this Michigan location.......Twenty Minutes! Never spoke to a soul......

Shelf item prices range from competitive to high but the convenience is nice as I can get in and out fast. I rarely have to wait long to check out and that alone is sometimes well worth the extra buck. Staff, for the most part, are pretty friendly. In fact, this is why I switched to Bunte's as my pharmacy. A simple smile goes a long ways. :) A solid 4 stars for the store and 5 gold stars for the pharmacy! Tips: - In case you are not aware, Bunte's is also a UPS drop-off site. YIPPEE! - Park in back if you're not comfortable with Main St. - They do prescription deliveries! This was super nice when I had a surgery and couldn't drive for awhile.

They are willing to go the extra mile for you should there be an issue with insurance, etc... This is something a larger pharmacy like Walmart, Meijer, or even CVS or Walgreens often times won't do for you. Despite being a hometown pharmacy, they, surprisingly, carry a good selection of prescription medication. So far, they've always had my prescription medication in stock. They also have a decent selection of hygiene and other home health products. Overall, in my opinion, Bunte's runs a good business.

Hometown Pharmacy just swooped in and took over four local pharmacies in our area -- including in…read moreSuttons Bay and Traverse City, MI. What's happening now is heartbreaking. Longtime employees -- including beloved pharmacists -- were let go and lost their benefits. These were people who had worked at those pharmacies for years and were part of the fabric of our small towns. Now? It's a mess. I went to pick up a prescription I had called in two days earlier -- it wasn't filled. And I wasn't alone. Three other people in line had the exact same problem. The friendliness we were used to is completely gone. Instead of calling and talking to someone I knew and who knew me, I get a robotic voice system. Locals here in Suttons Bay have been voicing a lot of frustration. Bayshore Pharmacy used to be loved -- now it feels like a place no one likes, staffed by people who seem overwhelmed or totally untrained. It's a damn shame what's happened to these once-great community pharmacies.

I explained my problem very politley to the woman and she just gave me a blank stare like and said "well what do YOU suggest i do?" (WHATTT??) then She gave me a screwdriver and told me to try that. she said it could break the hatch and I was genuinely terrified. I didn't want to break my Car!! after a while with the Screwdriver, nothing was working so I went back in to tell her and she just gave me a blank stare and i was seriously holding back tears. I had to leave and she wasn't helping! she told me to try AGAIN so I went back OUT to try again and finally got it open. not once did this woman go out to help me. when I told her I got it Open, she just shrugged and didn't seem too Happy. I'm not sure if she was just having a bad morning or what but she was very mean and un-helpful. It's not that hard to just help a customer, it is your JOB, but this woman clearly didn't want to. I really hope managment sees this because from now on, I will be getting my gas elsewhere, not here. Thank you.
