Thankfully though I finally discovered Spring Branch pharmacy which is the total opposite which is no doubt because it's an individually owned pharmacy that takes a great deal of personal pride in its service. It is very efficient and well organized, but it's the fantastic, stable staff which makes all the difference! They're not only super friendly, they're extremely efficient and helpful. I always get my medication immediately or if I have to wait it is never more than 5 minutes. They have a drive through window and when I have my pups they get a treat. Not only that, our feline specialist is in SA, and we were originally going to have to drive to medical center for the antibiotic (we live about 2 miles from Gruene Road Pharmacy). It was going to take about 4 days for them to make, and our cat had already went to the ER after nearly becoming septic from his UTI. I'm training to be a provider (for people) myself, so I knew that Gruene Road could compound medications, but for a cat? Now, Sir Skittles seems to be doing better than ever!! We are so thankful for Gruene Road Pharmacy!! Without them, who knows how Sir Skittles would be, or me for that matter, after driving back and forth to the medical center. The medication I get from there is supposed to be refrigerated…read more They mailed the medication after my doctor sent in the prescription---even though I didn't ask them to mail it. It arrived yesterday, the ice was melted and the medication bottles were hot. I called the pharmacy and the pharmacist/manager, Derek, told me the medication was still good. I told him that I'm not putting that in my body if it is hot and it is supposed to be refrigerated. He said he would exchange them. My mom brought them up to exchange today, and Derek gave her a hard time about exchanging them because he said the ice should've still been good. He eventually exchanged one bottle because it was closed and he is going to resell it. The other bottle he would not exchange because he said it was open so he can't resell it. I did open the other bottle to see if the medication inside was hot or if it was just the bottle. The medication itself was hot. I opened the package and called the pharmacy within 5 minutes of it being delivered. The ice was already totally melted and everything, including the medication inside the bottle, was hot. Also, I did a check on this medication and it states do not use if you forget to refrigerate it because it can cause diarrhea and vomiting. So, pharmacist lied to me to get me to keep the medication. I will be reporting them to the medical board, consumers protection agency, etc.
