She was awesome and knew her stuff! The reasons that I didn't give 5 stars is because of the many encounters where I did not get a call or even a text letting me know my medications were ready for pick up when they were supposed to be ready, so after not hearing anything I would call to see what was going on. I was told well there was an issue with one of your prescriptions, insurance or the company isn't making that medication any longer. Well.... please call me and inform me of this. This has happened several times at this location for one reason or another. I have given my insurance card and Good Rx card to the employee working at drop off to make sure it's updated in the system so they know these are the only 2 valid insurance cards I have and to delete all the others. I watch the employee put them in the system but unfortunately they never delete the invalid ones and then I am back to the same problem. I'm told by pharmacy techs well..... you have 6 insurance cards in here and we didn't know which one to use, well when I come in and hand you the insurance cards and tell you several times that these are the only 2 cards that are valid please delete the invalid ones to make this an easier transaction so there's no confusion. This is so frustrating to patients. Then I have to wait on medication I've needed and then I am told to come back yet again and show you my insurance cards that I have already spent time bringing in days earlier for you to update. Please please...... I know you are busy but please be more organized. It will save you a lot of time down the road and the customer too. People can't always wait around on certain medications when they are needed and they are out. My husband always tells me I don't know why you keep going back and putting yourself through this every single month. It's always the same issue as before. When are you going to learn.

But I've had this as my regular pharmacy for several years now and never had a bad experience here! My medication is always ready within the given estimates, the prices are better than I was getting elsewhere, and the staff is always willing to help with finding discount options, if needed. In fact, it's really the staff that sets this pharmacy so far above the others. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. The pharmacists come visit me nearly every time to see whether I have any questions; in a couple instances, they've given me the heads up about potential side effects (that my prescribers hadn't mentioned) that made me feel more at ease upon taking the medication. They've also given me good advice about mitigating potential side effects, such as increasing my hydration when starting a medication that was known to have "drying" effects. They're clearly highly knowledgeable and stay up to date on new medications, as they were easily able to answer questions about a medication I was given that was extremely new to the market. Finally, they are able to explain things in a way that makes sense to a layperson like me but don't do it in a way that feels condescending. That combination of empathy and knowledge is such a relief to encounter in medicine. My only notes are that sometimes, a medication is out of stock locally (which happens a bit more frequently than it did with my previous pharmacies), but they give me an accurate availability date -- and it's always available within a day or two. And the hours are a little shorter than some other pharmacies. Not a deal breaker by any means, just requires a bit more planning. I'm glad this is my pharmacy.

When I spoke to Alison, I explained that my husband & I are new to the area and that I hadn't used this pharmacy yet. She changed my address & phone number and then told me it would be about 10 minutes... I walked around the store a little to pick up a few things, returning 9 minutes later with full arms. I got to the register and my prescription was READY!! I cannot explain to the public enough that in today's society most people do not mean what they say, but Alison meant what she said and got it done!! But it doesn't stop there! They fill prescriptions, the end. That's the only reason I took a 4th star away from them. The pharmacist and techs are really nice. They fill prescriptions fast... usually within 5 minutes. I honestly can't recall ever waiting even 10 minutes here to have a prescription filled. The office below does have a general practitioner if you happen to be sick, but it is mostly a pain management clinic. So, the majority of the prescriptions they fill here are prescription pain meds. They are able to fill the stronger meds such as Dilaudid, Fentanyl Patches, etc. If you are a person who is in need of these stronger pain meds, you know you won't find them at the larger pharmacies such as Walgreens, CVS, etc. Generally, you have to go to one of the pharmacies located within a hospital to have those filled. Even still, I know some of those pharmacies are cracking down because the pharmacies within the Baptist Hospitals will no longer fill them unless the prescription came from a doctor within Baptist Health. I am in NO WAY promoting prescription narcotics, and I'm happy to see the state of Florida has finally starting cracking down on the abuse. However, I also know there are some people who genuinely need these prescriptions. If you are on of those people and are having trouble finding a place to fill your legitimate prescription, you should be able to have it filled here. Now, let me climb up on my soap box for a moment. DO NOT begin taking these strong prescription narcotics unless you are 100% certain you absolutely need them. There are still some doctors out there who are all too willing to hand them out like candy. I absolutely detest that fact. There are also some doctors handing out these prescriptions without educating the patient on how horribly addicting they are. Coming off some of these prescriptions may as well be like coming off of crack, and they don't always tell you that. So, before you slap a Fentanyl Patch on or start popping Dilaudid four times a day, do your research, and do it well! Otherwise, you may find yourself pain free but completely addicted to these things six months down the road. Just stop and ask yourself how much pain you are truly in and if it's really worth it. If it's not chronic and isn't severe, a Lortab to dull the pain will be much better in the long run! Keep in mind you do have that choice... you can always ask your doctor for something milder. I have put off writing this review for a very long time because it's like a double-edged sword for me. On one hand, I want the people who legitimately needs these prescription medications to know where to find them. On the other hand, I don't want the druggies who are faking the pain to know. Sigh....

This is a locally owned and operated pharmacy right on Kingsley Avenue that carries a great selection of products for all of your medical care needs. It's also a full service pharmacy where you can drop off your prescriptions and relax in the adjacent waiting room while it's being filled. There is plenty of parking and the customer service is friendly and personal. It seems like they have a long standing clientele and it's conveniently located across from OPMC. It is great to see that this place is an option for those in need of their medicines and medical supplies. I will be back!

As I was looking them over I noticed his temazepam was in the 8 am pack. He takes temazepam for sleep. Not for anxiety or anything else but for sleep. Seeing this error I call the pharmacy to tell them of their error. Initially the girl tells me, "oh sorry well correct it for next month". This floors me. I ask to speak to somebody else she rudely says nothing but puts me on hold cuz music starts playing. I explain the situation to the The pharmacist and he tells me the delivery service is booked solid for the rest of the week so he can't do anything until then. Well, my friend is not well and he shouldn't have any confusion about his meds so I tell the pharmacist that and he keeps telling me there is nothing he can do. Ok fine I tell him I want to speak to the manager so he takes my number down and the manager or owner calls and seems to completely understand how wrong this situation is for my buddy and he fixes the problem that day. Phew! Thank goodness! So problem resolved? Yes but if I hadn't been there to check his meds over he'd of been screwed taking his sleep medicine first thing in the morning and not taking anything for night. What I'm telling you is be careful that medical errors don't happen to you or your loved ones.
