This pharmacy wont bill your insurance, forcing you to pay for you prescriptions. They couldn't figure out how to bill my sisters Medicare prescription plan while Safeway could. Even with an appointment booked weeks in advance, I had to wait over a half hour for my booster and flu shot. What's the point of setting up an appointment? Felt like the classic Seinfeld episode where the car rental place confirms the reservation but doesn't have a car for Jerry. Clearly pharmacy is understaffed. When it was my turn, the pharmacist was wonderful. Kind & friendly. Store itself is spacious, bright and clean. I like that they have installed price scanners because there are always items without prices or that don't reflect the sale price. They have their own parking lot which is very convenient. read more

Terrible CVS. Employees are always on my butt as if I'm going to shop lift. Every single time I enter this location. Which is extremely unfortunate since I live only a few blocks away and I do not shoplift. in fact, I work extremely hard for my money. I felt 100% discriminated against. What? Because I have tattoos I'm a thief? Honestly, disgusted and embarrassed for this already desolate establishment. This is the brand new CVS Pharmacy on the corner of Tacoma and SE 17th in Sellwood. Ample parking entrance on SE 17th The pharmacist and staff are super helpful and friendly. The shelves are filled with brand new merchandise including beauty, baby, health care products, cleaning supplies, gift wrap, cards and stationery & party supplies. CVS is open until 10pm, stocked with food, drinks, ice cream, and healthy food, pet food and care. The music is pleasant and relaxing. Come check it out:) read more

Customer service is non existent, I have had issues in the past about their lack of any way to contact a living person in CVS, their phone screen is so locked down only recorded messages can be accessed. Yesterday, August 15th I went in to the 17th and Tacoma store to buy nail polish remover, the nail products, including polish remover were in a locked case so I started trying to find a store clerk; there was no one at the two registers, the only other customer was finishing up at the self-serve checkout, I walked all over the store looking for a sales person. The only other person I saw was the pharmacist, busy with a customer irritated by his long wait. I walked again through the store-not a person was around. I went home and bought remover on Amazon. read more

Very frustrating. The cvs near my home closed unexpectedly. My prescriptions were sent to this pharmacy. For some unknown reasons they will not fill a prescription even when ordered by my doctor and approved by my insurance. No explanation is given and no notice, except a cryptic entry on the app that it won't be filled. Neither I nor my doctor can reach them because they never answer their phones. read more

I went here three weeks ago to make sure I had my medication before I went on vacation and after I paid the pharmacist, he made a condescending comment about how I was picking up my meds too soon and it's not what CVS usually does. When I tried to explain the situation (my doctor said it was okay to fill the prescription five days early etc.) , I got talked over. Finally, I think he realized that I might complain about the comment and said something along the lines of "I'm sure your doctor had a good reason for giving you permission to get your medication five days early." He didn't communicate what the policy was and the way this was done felt very passive aggressive/splainy especially since I could see that he was polite to the other customers. I am doing what I can to avoid this location from now on -- even if it means getting my prescriptions 30+ minutes from my apartment. That's how bad this CVS location is right now. I've given them multiple opportunities to make things right and the situation seems to get worse each time. I have reported it to both CVS and Aetna but it doesn't seem like anything is being done to fix the situation. I really wish CVS and Aetna actually read and responded to the reviews both here and on Google because there are some real problems here that aren't being addressed. read more

There is a new Drug store in town. Great news for Sellwood residents. It's at the corner of 17th and Tacoma. There is a parking lot. Right now the parking lot seems to be ample as not a lot of people are out driving. These are strange times. People need to see normalcy and have hope. I believe this store is serving as a cornerstone of hope for the Sellwood community. It's open. It's clean the shelves are full. They even had toilet paper at the time of this review. A good selection of items from all around the needs or wants you could think of. Drinks and snacks of all kinds. If any one or any community is pulling for a store to survive I am filled with pride and enthusiasm for a retailer to come in and try to return life to a hint of existing as it did before the virus. I Wish there was a zero star rating. Never answers the phone. Terrible communication and poor customer service. The whole purpose of the pharmacy is to care for people and their medical needs and they failed. I wish this rating would actually improve customer service but they don't care. Sad to say this is the worst pharmacy I've been to. This location is in my neighborhood and I was so excited to have a pharmacy close by, but the pharmacy staff is exceptionally rude (one young femme in particular), they close without warning, and most recently I had a covid booster booked, arrived to my appointment, saw 4 people behind the plastic that closed the pharmacy, told them I had an appointment at 4:30 and was turned away. Recently moved my dying mother in to my house. She takes 12 different meds 7 times a day. I have had 5 different prescriptions filled here this month. All were 5-7 days to get filled. This isn't something I'm buying on Amazon that's back ordered these are life saving drugs that are needed in a timely manner. It's shocking that a medical need is handled so flippantly. Look for other options if your needs are urgent. On a side note today I was told the meds were back ordered and I was welcome to call other CVS to see if any of them had the drug my dying mother needed. Unbelievable! read more

It's a total mess here. I was notified twice that I needed a refill twice never getting a notification that it was ready. When I went in to pick it up that I did not pick up in time after not getting notification. Then they sent to processing to initiate the refill again and made me go to the end of the line for each individual prescription I had which was 3. I was really excited when this CVS opened and initially the store was clean, well stocked, and the service was good. However, over time, everything about the store has diminished; the service, cleanliness, quality of stock management, and attentiveness of pharmacy staff. I wondered if it was just my perception but there is now a discussion on NextDoor about the decline of this CVS and I am not alone regarding my experiences. Avoid this place like the plague, especially if you are actually ill. have not written a negative review on Yelp since 2011, I prefer to share positive experiences. But I worry about my safety and the safety of others. Over the past year and a half I have had a series of bad health issues and have needed antibiotics a few times. EVERY time I have had to pick up urgently needed meds they have tried to take more than 24 hrs to fill them. I have had permanent damage done to my body because I did not get antibiotics in time. Today I had an rx sent in at 9am. It was due to be ready by 6pm. I went in person to collect it and they said it would be ready the following day. The person behind the counter was annoyed that I have hearing loss and rolled their eyes at me when I asked them to repeat what they are saying. Everyone in the neighborhood was glad to see a drug store finally show up in the Sellwood / Moreland area, but what a disappointment. The layout is horrible, the shelves seem to be bare half the time, and finding someone to help you is impossible. Most drug stores are just fine. You don't notice them because they're perfectly serviceable--you go in, find what you're looking for, pay, and leave. Done. So it's downright weird when a drug store fails so consistently. My wife and I had an incredibly positive experience with the CVS Pharmacy and, especially, pharmacist Yvette Lazerick. We were visiting Portland from Bend for a procedure we could not get at home. Our doctor ordered a prescription sent to this pharmacy near where we were staying. Unfortunately, the prescription sent by the doctor was for an obscure medication that is carried by few pharmacies. Pharmacist Yvette made numerous, repeated calls to our doctor asking for an approval for an equivalent medication carried by the pharmacy, but our doctor couldn't be reached. When we arrived unaware that our prescription couldn't be filled due to an oversight by our doctor, the Pharmacist waited with us and continued calling until she finally reached someone at our doctor's office. She then helped us ensure we could fill the prescription, which was essential given it was time sensitive. Thank you, thank you for your customer service and persistence that kept us on track with our medication schedule. read more

so I've called this pharmacy dozens of times for the prescription I need to function just to be left on hold for 30+ minutes. So I drive twenty minutes to go check in person. im like hi I've called a couple times and have been left on hold and - she cuts me off and is like "that's what happens when we're three employees short staffed" she explains to me that she simply cannot confirm when my prescription will be ready. i work at a coffee shop. I am more apologetic to customers when I put almond milk in their drink instead of oat milk than this woman was about me being unable to do her job which in turn effects my health. i basically cannot function without it and I'm a full time employee and student. It's insanity and she was so beyond unprofessional. it would be fine if she was just like I'm sorry we can't fill it yet we're so understaffed but she gave ME attitude??? Someone needs to talk to the pharmacy staff about customer service or better yet explain how be a kind empathetic human . read more
