The good of this location is that it's not too far from 580, and other neighboring businesses in the Fruitvale MacArthur area. At this location you can also get your meds, even the hard to find ones as for whatever reason this location tends to have them. Aside from that, however, this location is not very good in general. Parking is almost always a nightmare. As it shares the same parking lot with farmer Joe's and another business at the end of the lot it's incredibly hard to find parking that's close to the front of the store when it's busy. Staff can also be rough. I think it typically depends on the mood or if they had to deal with rowdy customers, but more often than not you're going to run into someone that's ready to fight back in a verbal argument. The wait times to get your medication are also very overwhelming at times. In spite of this, I will give the CVS Pharmacy a 3/5. The reason I'm giving this a 3/5 is that I get it. I used to work in the area years back. I would occasionally end up coming to the store. I don't blame the staff entirely and the location itself can't be blamed for the parking situation. read more

I had an interaction with a I'm assuming store manager on February 18, 2026 at approximately 6 PM. My daughter had found an item that was expired and normally if you find an expired item and it does depend on the store they'll give you a reward or loyalty coupon which is worth about $3.00 or higher depends because you're helping them by removing those items from their shelves my daughter stood in line. There was only one line and it was a long line and when it was her turn, I was on the back of her and I'm on a Walker. I'm disabled. She explained I would like to see if I can get a loyalty coupon for this expired item. The item had expired on February 1, 2026. He proceeds to tell her what you have dyslexia and laugh, she looked at him bewildered, and then looked at me. There was another worker standing next to him and she proceeds to tell him I don't argue with them. I just go ahead and do it now I believe he was the manager because the cashier that we originally had said he didn't know anything about it, and he asked the manager and let me also say he was the only black person behind the counter. Everybody else was white or I believe Hispanic. He did not have a badge that said he was a manager, but the young man did say he was asking the manager the manager I'm assuming proceeds to stay a cuss word then ask her for her phone number she gave him the number he didn't begin talking to the coworker that's standing next to him and the coworker Snickers he laughs ask for her phone number again she gives it to him again then he asked for the third time I have yet to understand what was supposed to be funny when did having dyslexia become a norm that someone makes fun about and no she doesn't have dyslexia. My daughter is working on her bachelors degree however, her mother who is disabled and was standing on the back of her and I have several Degrees was highly insulted. When did Mangement start talking to the customers any kind of way in this manner if he did not want to participate in the program, that's all he had to say instead he tried to make everything a joke and was very rude CVS. Came here to get my passport picture taken and they did not have the staffing to provide this service. Never go to a CVS to get your pictures taken because this was my fourth or fifth CVS that said "no" to that service. read more

I tried to use their passport photo services. They charged me $35 for a photo that doesn't meet the government guidelines. They were distracted while taking the photo because it was 10:30 AM and they'd already had two robberies that morning and six robberies yesterday. Utter incompetence and lack of concern. Despite being told twice my meds were all ready for pickup, the first time only 1 (of 13) was ready. Today only 5 more. Even worse, none of the staff- not the 'customer care' person or the damn pharmacist showed the slightest bit of concern or tried to problem solve. I see now why this pharmacy is rated at only 2 stars! I usually only take the time to write positive reviews, but this negative review is warranted. I got to the pharmacy before the 7 pm closing time. The pharmacist looked up at me but didn't move. I waited for someone to come to the counter. When that didn't happen, I moved around to get his attention again. A clerk came out and when I told her I wanted buy Sudafed, she said they were closed. I told her it wasn't 7 pm yet and she acknowledged it was 6:59 pm. She then got the Pharmacy Manager (the same person who saw me previously). He said they were closed and that the register system automatically shuts down. However, he made it sound like if I had a prescription to pick up, he could have overriden the system. This is very poor customer service. Had someone come out to the counter when I arrived, the simple register transaction would have been completed before 7 pm. He acknowledged that he saw me earlier. He maintained that he couldn't do anything. I complained to the store manager on duty, who was very nice. He mentioned that they often get complaints about the Pharmacy. read more

Expect an attitude if you're picking up a package. They also take your ID to the back when they go to look for your package which isn't safe at all. If they need to remember your name they should write it down. No one should have their ID taken somewhere they can't see, completely unnecessary and I'm actually going to contact corporate about this. Secondly make sure you know how many packages you're expecting because sometimes they'll just grab the first one and that's it. Lastly how am I supposed to know what the package looks like? The pharmacy is, by far, the most incompetent, unhelpful and pathetic waste of space there is! They could turn it into a video store and it would still be more helpful than the poor excuse of a pharmacy that is there now. The beauty selection here is great, and the staff are courteous and helpful--there just aren't enough of them. After pressing the call button in the beauty section a few times and waiting 15 minutes to have someone come unlock the cabinet, I gave up and left. It's unclear to me what the thinking is behind big box retailers' current strategy of locking up half their merchandise if they aren't going to provide adequate staff to unlock a $7 bottle of shampoo. I no longer go here as much. I did when it used to be called Longs Drugs. It has been years since the name change and remodel of the store but I will forever remember it as that. Parking usually isn't an issue as there is plenty in front and side of the store. Beware of the homeless and people just roaming the lot though. Pretty good sized CVS. Somewhat of a decent selection, but they do they tend to run out of items. A lot of their items are also locked up behind the glass. If you need something, you'd have to wait for an employee to unlock it for you. And that employee is usually behind the register. Note that they mostly only have one person at the register as well. If it's a lucky day, there would be a second employee behind another register. The employees talk more with each other than getting the lines to move. There's always a long wait in line. read more

This store perpetually looks like it was robbed a few hours before you got there. Shelves are mostly empty. Steel security gates are pulled halfway down. Employees are cloistered in a corner of the store, an erie silence because absolutely nobody is in there. Pharmacy Staff over the phone : -Very rude - extremely hostile -lie to you by telling you what you want to hear so they can get you off the phone asap. -doesn't always have the appropriate staffing to actually function as a pharmacy the whole time it's open. Worst experience ever. Literally told them I'm dealing with end of life care and these meds for symptom management were very important. My Doctors office already made sure to verify and made sure to ask if they are able to fill it that day. Unfortunately they lied. Then the Leif when I had called to ensure they gotten the prescription and are able to fill it. They guy said "give the pharmacist an hour to verify and it should be all good". Basically he just told me what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone. If he had been honest, I would have had enough time to contact my doctor to get the prescription sent somewhere else! When I called back, the "pharmacist" said she wasn't able to fill it bc the managing pharmacist isn't there. "Come tomorrow and he'll figure it out" meaning there's no guarantee that I'll be able to pick them up tmrw. I called back to see if they could ask the pharmacist to send it to another cvs but the guy didn't transfer me to the pharmacist, instead I was met with the strong arm. A mean women that was very rude and hostile. "This is the third time you done called here!! We already told you everything and you need to stop calling!!" I try to defend myself but instead I get hung up on. I call back to continually get hung up on. As a patient who's gone through so much trauma from being in and out of hospitals and surgeries and at this point needing a heart transplant at 31, the last thing I need is for medical professionals to treat me so damn poorly. It's damaging and traumatizing. I'm made enough to go over there to snap photos of the employees so I can bring it up to the managing pharmacist. But the stress and anger from that would probably set my heart into a bad arrhythmia and the last thing I need is my defibrillator implant going off. read more

Yelp forces you to mark at least one star, but I'd give my last experience none. I was there to buy decongestant. I was unfamiliar with all the options so needed to read the packaging before making my choice. I walked up to the pharmacy to request a bottle of this over the counter medicine which they require, most likely to counter theft. The staff in the pharmacy were just starting to close up the pharmacy, with staff still behind the counter, but much to my dismay refused to help me even though I was visibly sick and politely asking - really poor customer service. I've authored several negative reviews about this location. However, I've recently visited 2-3 times in the past 30 days and feel compelled to document my positive experiences. First, I called to status a refill request and received a response to my voicemail within minutes. I also had two in store visits that were (dare I say,) pleasant. Finally, the medications ordered were in stock and filled timely. In truth, I've had so many negative experiences, that I'm likely understating the positive. I'm hopeful that this trend continues so that I can stop relying on online pharmacies and stores in nearby cities. Cautiously optimistic, but there have been big improvements! Wanted to grab a new shaver as my older electric combo shaver had recently died out. Was in the Dimond area and figured why not come back to my ol'neighborhood store, CVS. Which actually was my past time Long's Drugs store back in the way day. I miss the .25c soda with crushed ice at the entrance/exit door. Or the hot cocoa, coffee, the chicken or beef broth for .60c. Ah, the memories. Walked into the store and the place was very clean. Aisles were clean, floors, too. Very tidy. Walked around and recalled, I needed a new contact lenses case and contact lenses rewetting drops. Grabbed those first. FYI. They were low on regular saline solution. Only one brand was in stock. Odd! Continued to walk around and located the shavers section. After sometime of searching online on my phone, as to which shaver was better, price rise and durability, I picked the one I wanted. Pressed the customer service button just above the shavers, and a helpful lady came to assist me in opening and obtaining my new shaver. Thanked her for helping me and I walked over to the front counter to check out. Young gentleman at the front counter was polite and efficient in the checkout process. there is no excuse not to have a restroom for a customer in dire need. I just witnessed the most inhumane treatment of a customer and the most lame excuse for not having a rest room available for customers. I understand it's difficult to provide restrooms for customers but CVS should be able to afford it just like Starbucks or Target. i've been going to the store for 30 years and I've never seen a problem with the restroom and they have most items that I want but there is no excuse for this. I hate to be the bearer of bad reviews but this CVS is not the spot. Too many items are sequestered behind glass, making it unwieldy to get an item as simple as toothpaste. Toothpaste! The key to CVS is the low price and the convenience but this particular location does not provide the latter. The staff is friendly, even when trying to get irresponsible patrons to put their COVID-19 masks on but it is understaffed, meaning a sizeable wait is a guarantee. I really want to love this location but it's set up to fail, not succeed. read more
