Back before COVID gave us all an excuse for demanding tips to supplement the wages of large corporations and slashed the hours available to both retail workers and shoppers, this location was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 360+ days a year. I know this because, not only was I alive back then, I was frequently outside. Now, it's barely staffed, there's a "self-checkout" that seems to be the only option to surrender your money in exchange for overpriced ibuprofen and gummy bears. It closes at 11pm, which, to be fair, is actually pretty late these days. The pharmacy is pretty slow but it's in my "network". It's CVS. They've basically colonized everybody's medication profile. It's them or ExpressScripts. So, we just put up with whatever schedule they have, right? Right?!? The app is clunky. The phone is always busy. But, they had my new prescription that wasn't available via mail order in stock so I guess I should just be grateful. read more

A shoutout to nurse Amy in the MinuteClinic who helped me traverse the intricacies of getting a COVID vaccine for my daughter. Due to *everything* it's hard to get a COVID vaccine, especially for kids (even though it's safe and recommended by physicians). Our pediatrician office no longer offers them, and after checking with Walgreens, Walmart, Costco and others, we found that CVS was really the only chain offering them for kids under 5 and only in Indiana. We made an appointment for her via CVS' site originally for the Sellersburg location, and after meeting with Amy -- who we also saw at our subsequent visit to the New Albany CVS -- we were told that even though the system allowed us to make the appointment, we actually need a doctor's prescription for it that says, in our case, that there's another sibling at home with a chronic condition that we need to protect by getting vaccinated. And we needed a paper prescription because prescriptions sent electronically go to the pharmacy, not the clinic, and she can't access them. Amy told me exactly what I needed to do and bring to a follow-up visit. Fast forward a few days and past a trip to the doctors office, and we met Amy once again at this location in New Albany. She was so friendly and helpful and managed to give my daughter her shot without causing any tears. This CVS also was very bright and clean. I would definitely stop here if I was in the area. Thanks so much to Amy for being so knowledgeable and helping us out! read more

I transferred all my prescriptions here because they're cheaper than where I was getting them. Rethinking that now. Poor customer service in the pharmacy. They're not friendly at all, less than helpful and rush you along they don't have time for you. read more

The lady who answers the phone is very rude and acted like I was an inconvenience by asking her questions. She abruptly slammed the phone down, ending the call like I personally offended her by calling. read more

this pharmacy provides the worst service I've ever experienced. they suddenly reduced the quantity of my medication despite it being fully in stock. I failed to notice it for 3 months and was told that they would not correct their error and said it was my fault for not noticing. They refused to follow the prescription my doctor wrote and then filled a partial prescription this month that I didn't request and refused to correct their error. I am transferring all of my business to another pharmacy and will never do business with them again. read more

I visit this location quite often. The employees are always helpful. They speak when you enter the store and they're easily accessible if/when their assistance is needed. I can usually find products I'm looking for. But it seems the rare products, ones not sold at many pharmacies, I have to go to Walgreens. This store is always clean and organized. And the pharmacy employees are helpful when health related questions need answering. Their sales are always welcomed that normally consist of buy one and get the second item 50% off. The other cool thing about CVS is that your printed receipt comes with coupons to be used on future visits. The only drawback is that the expiration date is usually a few days or weeks out not giving you adequate time to take advantage. Overall, I like shopping at CVS and would recommend. read more

CVS Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - New Albany, Indiana

See all

A large part of me has a soft spot for Walgreens because many years ago they employed me as an intern and probably paid me more than I was worth at the time. So I frequent that store more regularly. But this place is great for those small needs you didn't anticipate or for 24 hour rx needs. read more

I have officially given up on this pharmacy. My family and I have been using this CVS pharmacy for the past 10+ years. This used to be a decent establishment, but these past couple years have been horrible. They have shut down the pharmacy for the day a countless number of times due to their staffing issues. Today we needed to pick up our medications before we took the kids on spring break, but they had shut down once again after 1pm because of their staffing problems. I'm sure I am not the only one who had this major problem as they have single-handedly ruined a day and a half of our vacation! When they do decide to show up they always are very rude and short with the customers and rarely your prescription is ready...I can guarantee at minimum a 1-2hr wait on prescriptions that I've submitted for refill the day before, and they expect you to be ok with it. "Well why don't you call first" you say? That would solve the few hours I would have to waste to pick them up, but they don't pick up their phones! I've called numerous times and been on hold 30+ minutes just for the me to hear a "click" and see that my call was ended...sooo very frustrating!!! Another issue my wife has had is when they have closed the pharmacy hours early in order to count their drawers! She would be running errands in the evening and go to pick up a prescription around 8:30-9:00pm...only to find their in-store metal security doors shut but see the drive-thru window still open. So like anyone would, she drove around to the window to ask why the pharmacy was closed and they would tell her that they had to close down in order to count the drawers. Anyone who has ever been in retail knows that you don't close down your store early to count the drawers, you wait until your actual closing time to do so! So after dealing with this for the past couple years and hoping things would eventually turn around and get their act together...this was the last straw. I hope this review will find others that have had these same problems and something will be done about it...my family and I won't be around to find out. read more

If I could give this joke of a location 0 stars I would. Three separate times, I have given them extra days to get my prescriptions filled and it doesn't happen. If you go in an hour and a half or later before they close, they won't fill your prescription (that had been sitting in the queue all day). I had them tell me just last month to come back a day later and "my insurance would pay for it." I came back, and they said it was out of stock and was going to be on the truck the next day. Forget it!!! 5 people just standing around in the pharmacy every time I go in. I had all my prescriptions transferred to the Jeffersonville location and they are amazing!! One day I had state street tranfer a script over that my wife had been waiting on for 2 days and by the time I made the drive (10 minutes), it was ready! That place is amazing and they do it with a lot less people! The pharmacist usually is at the window or working the counter. The State Street location should shut down or clean house!! read more

This is absolutely the worst pharmacy I've ever had to deal with and the employees are stand-offish and rude, never willing to help. Shelby, the lead technician, I've had numerous problems with trying to get any information on refills or even answers to simple questions about the medicine in general. I have also been hung up on while on the phone and had the drive thru window shut in my face. I understand pharmacies are understaffed and overworked, but to hang up on a customer asking for information on an important medicine is simply uncalled for. On top of everything else, Shelby has specifically told me two wrong days in a row to pick up a medication then denied she told me those dates and blamed me for her not pushing my medicine through to be filled when she said she would. If you can go to literally any other pharmacy I would highly recommend it, and if you must deal with Shelby, the lead technician, good luck, because she will make it as difficult as possible and be rude the whole time. read more

I've had multiple issues with this pharmacy - from being on hold for over 35 minutes with no answer to long wait times in store. The staff seem genuinely disinterested with the job and with customer service. read more
