(There we're no other customers in the store). He informed me that he's they had the vaccine but they could not administer the shot on that day which was Saturday. He went on for ten minutes explaining why he couldn't administer the shot right then (because it could take up to ten minutes) and I would have to come back the following week. In the time he took to make excuses he could have given me the vaccine!!! I thought the pharmacist was there to help people and to administer a vaccine the fed government supplements them to give out!! The lack of compassion and just general lack Of customer service just has me so upset snd perplexed!! I think his behavior was inexcusable snd he should not be dealing with the general Public especially during a time of confusion and mistrust with the vaccine itself. His Job is to administer the vaccine snd assure people throughout the process of it all. Just beware of trusting people like this with your health . I would think twice about this establishment.

I also love the fact that they put a Bible verse in the bag with my medications. You don't get this kind of attention or care from the big box pharmacies and I have no plans of ever going anywhere else!

Previously, I was getting a premixed version of the medicine from Walgreens. I had been calling in her refill for over a week and she was down to just a few drops not even a full dose. They didn't seem to care and was definitely not in any hurry to fill her medicine, which I can only assume is because she's a dog. Of course, she goes into a full blown seizure, one of the worst I've ever seen. Her seizures last sometimes for 12 to 18 hours. Walgreen's couldn't transfer her medication to any other pharmacy because of the classification of the medicine. My vets office and I were both frantically calling every possible pharmacy within 3 counties. No where had the medication in stock. Finally, my vet got in touch with Moss Compounding Pharmacy aka The Pharmacy and they realized how dire our situation was but they also did not have the premixed medication in stock either but they said they could make it for her. I had no idea at the time how much of a blessing this all actually was. As soon as I administered my dog Moss's compounded elixir to her for the very first time her seizure actually stopped. Little did I know that the premixed version wasn't even helping to combat the seizures nor was it helping her when she was suffering a seizure. It was just drugging her into a daily fog that made her miserable. She would run and cry from the premixed version because the taste was so overwhelmingly bad, much worse than any terrible tasting cough syrup you can imagine. Since, Moss has been compounding her medication she doesn't even have to take it twice a day to prevent seizures. Since she is a registered support animal she is with me all the time and I know exactly what it looks like before she goes into a seizure so I am now able to just administer her the medication as needed and now since I can do it this way she has not once gone into a full seizure in almost 7 months. She isn't in a drugged hazy state all the time which allows her to do her job as my support animal. She's so much healthier and happier. She gets to run and play again and not spend her entire day sleeping. She doesn't even get upset about taking her medication because it doesn't taste bad. It barely has any taste at all except a hint of orange flavor. Moss Compounding Pharmacy showed me and her real compassion and that she was just as important and not just a dog or another prescription number. They also gave her back so much better quality of life and by her quality of life improving so has mine. Thank you Moss Compounding Pharmacy and the staff at The Pharmacy.

It is…read morethe oldest pharmacy in South Carolina as well as the oldest continuously-operating business in Summerville. It was founded by Dr. Henry Charles Guerin. The roots of the pharmacy go back decades earlier. Dr. C.F. Schwettmann owned a drugstore in Charleston, but it was damaged by cannon fire during the Civil War. He set up a new drugstore in Summerville in 1864. In 1871, Guerin (a former Confederate soldier and graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina) purchased the pharmacy and Schwettmann returned to Charleston. After Guerin passed away, the pharmacy was taken over by his son Dr. Joseph C. Guerin. The younger Guerin's colleague Dr. Herbert F. Dunning later purchased the pharmacy. Since 2014, the owner of Guerin's Pharmacy has been Dunning's grand niece Barbara A. Dunning, RPh. My family and I visited Guerin's Pharmacy this past summer while we were visiting family in town. Our cousins told us to check out a really cool old pharmacy in Hutchinson Square. We had no idea that pharmacies like this still existed; we had only seen ones like this in the movies. In addition to a pharmacy, Guerin's also essentially doubles as a general store where customers can purchase souvenirs, postcards, books, t-shirts, etc. Guerin's is also home to a soda fountain, which were popular in drugstores during the first half of the 20th century but rarely seen today. Customers can get Blue Bell brand ice cream, milkshakes, malts, floats, fountain sodas, hotdogs (with or without chili), pickles, or a number of different treats from the candy counter. My wife and I shared a cup of "Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream while our sons shared a cup of "Cookies 'n Cream". My wife also enjoyed a strawberry milkshake while I had a bottle of Cheerwine. It was so cool to step back in time at Guerin's Pharmacy! We'll definitely visit again on a future trip to Summerville.
