Customer service at the outset was very good. I was in from out of town, and was told that Dexter's would ship my glasses and shades for a mere $10. I was very happy with that arrangement. About a week later I received a call from their technician letting me know that my shades came in not-as-ordered and that there would be a delay of over a week. I let the technician know that I wouldn't be upset as long as I could get a discount for pain and suffering. He said he would look into it. A day or two later I got a voice mail and a couple of text messages letting me know that my glasses were ready, and could I please pick them up. I immediately called to make sure they were still planning to ship my glasses. They said they were. When I asked the person to verify my mailing address, she recited a totally incorrect address. Since I'm a firm believer that lots of little mistakes can entail a much larger one, I asked to speak with a manager (Jon) to voice my concerns over this handful of mistakes. He patiently listened to my hysterical yammering, them told me he would make sure everything went smoothly from then on. Jon handled everything personally, I got my very generous discount, and so far I'm super happy. I love my glasses, which were speedily and safely shipped, and now I await the shades. I would definitely return. Thank you, Jon & co!

I could really use some good luck today…read more First, they requested a referral from my PCP without even asking me. I have vision insurance, and I specifically told them I wanted that used. Instead, they billed my health insurance anyway. Second, they dilated my eyes again, even though they had done it just a few months earlier. It didn't seem necessary, and it felt like another way to bill my health insurance instead of my vision plan. Then, when it came time to fit my progressive lenses, the machine they normally use wasn't working. Instead of taking proper measurements, the employee just estimated everything by sight. I usually wait about four weeks for my glasses, but these came in after only one week, which immediately made me wonder if something was wrong. As soon as I put them on, I knew they weren't right. I tried wearing them for two days, hoping my eyes just needed time to adjust, but they don't. My vision is cloudy, and the glare and reflections are so bad you can barely see my eyes through the lenses. I have an appointment today so they can "see what they can do." I'm really stressed and hoping they make this right. Wish me luck!

We have been thoroughly enjoying our summer in Vermont until today when visiting this store. Our…read morerelaxed and enjoyable time was completely shattered by the ignorance and rudeness of one of their employees (Arron) and her sidekick I went in there with my two young boys and we filled up the grocery cart. When it was time to check out, Arron and her cohort saw us approaching the check out lanes. As it was my first time there, I was obviously a little confused as to where I was supposed to go as she didn't give me any indication and continued then to ignore us. When I asked, "er which side do you went us on?" she snickered at us and said I am not helping you check out, I am just checking this "computer" All the check out lanes were closed and all there was open was the corner kiosk. However, as I figured this out on my own, another customer with a large cart stacked with items approached the kiosk and it looked like it was going to be a long and drawn out time consuming process. So we patiently waited for about 5 minutes, By then several other customers had begun to form a line behind us. I was distracted by my boys who were now becoming restless and the next thing I know , the rude ignorant lady "Arron" has opened up the cash register next to us and invited all the customers standing behind us to check out! So then we are still in line while everyone else is checking out and leaving the store. We ended up being the very last people out of the store when we were the first to arrive in line! I complained to Aron and told her I thought it was very rude to have completely ignored and dismissed us and then left us there like that and I got back another rude and idignant reply, basically saying "go and pound sand" I was livid. I called the store manager when we returned home to file a complaint about this incredibly rude employee. The maanger apologized and said she hoped we would return. There is zero chance of that until they begin to come into the 21srt century on customer awareness and courtesy, and fire that awful person, Arron. Will find out her last name and post. She is an overweight and very unattractive older woman with a slightly mean and vacant look about her I am not a person to complain. I have never written a review in my life as I am generally too busy as the CEO of a corporation, But I have also never been treated so shabbily by a simply horrid and ignorant employee before and I don't think we should have to tolerate that kind of rudeness and antipathy Mark O.

I don't drink but the store appears well stocked, and when I wanted some non-alcoholic sparkly stuff for New Year's Eve, they had it. The best part has been the friendly and helpful dark-haired young woman at the register - I am quite sure it was the same one both visits. I needed a gas receipt the first time because for some reason the pump refused to make one, and she cheerfully provided it without even having to quiz me about which pump I'd used. The second time she responded most helpfully to my request for said non-alcoholic apple cider and took it to the counter for me while I used the rest room for which I'd waited as there were others ahead of me. Both times a good experience. Recommend.
