Good Day Caremark Customer Service, This evening, I experienced the worst customer service experience from the Dumfries VA, CVS Pharmacy. Store number #6852. Not only was I in the car full service line, prior to 8pm, the staff closed the gate as I followed the car in front of me. I look and see the folks assisting customers inside, as I thought well maybe they didn't see me. I waited in line for pickup and nd after the staff waited on the two persons ahead of me, one attendant said that they were closed. I explained that I was in line outside. They refused me service. This was not right and I didn't disrespect them, yet kept reiterating that I was now in line twice and was refused service. I even showed them my app info and barcode. They stated that this is what they do, yet this practice isn't posted anywhere. Also, note that I was the only Black person awaiting their prescription. How disappointing this is as I've been doing business with your company for over 20 years now. And please check the cameras because a pharmacy staff person said I wasn't in line at 8pm. This caused me to be off my meds for a week, as I'm traveling to care for my parent whose got dementia & Alzheimer's. Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. There could be one car in the drive through line and you'll still wait over 30 minutes. I had a prescription sent there and was told their insurance processor was down and to come back in two hours when really the only issue was that my information was entered incorrectly, which she should have caught when I gave her my birthdate. I later found out that a message was sent to this CVS to check my information when my insurance was rejected so this all could have been prevented. This was a time sensitive medication that I needed to start and they did not show any care or make any effort to find a solution. read more

THE WORST CVS PHARMACY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Dont be fooled, this is a 0 star review. Listen to this and all other reviews about the pharmacy. Pharmacy workers are unprofessional, rude, and cant actually do their job. It's almost like they are trying to kill customers with how unable they are to perform pharmacy tasks. Between improper insurance practices, time delays, and unprofessional behavior this is a terrible place. First time I went there, they ran my insurance incorrectly and said if I wanted the meds I would have to pay out of pocket. After talking with my insurance to confirm there should be no out of pocket expenses I reengaged with cvs. They said it would only take 30 minutes to fill the prescription but it took nearly two hours. While waiting in the waiting room I heard people complaining about similar experiences. At checkout they told me I still had to pay out of pocket. Exhausted, I payed it so I could have the meds I desperately needed. The second time I went to this location the exact same thing happened: insurance, delays, and saying I need to pay out of pocket. This time there was an elderly couple there who just got out of the hospital and needed meds that day. The "pharmacist" couldn't be bothered to help them so they called the hospital to transfer the prescriptions to somewhere that could actually help them. They had been waiting for almost two hours as well. In addition to this I will be contacting their pharmacy customer service. If I could give ZERO stars for Minute Clinic at this CVS location I would. I had an appt for ear ache, extremely sore throat, fever & congestion. They tested me for Strep which was negative. Said I had a virus, despite my symptoms and would not prescribe meds. I went to my primary doctor the next day who said my ears were fluid filled, sore throat so bad I couldn't eat, fever & he heard congestion in my lungs. He prescribed an antibiotic so I wouldn't get worse, especially being an Asthmatic. Avoid this place, if you're sick they just tell you it's viral & follow up in 4 or 5 days.... Atrocious service. I signed up for a rapid covid test (for a school age child). The website offered an appointment at 9:20am at this location, so I accepted it and hurried to get the kid in the car, and arrived at around 9:15. Wandered around confused by conflicting signage, we ended up at the "concierge desk" for the minute clinic, where an employee told me curtly that we will get a phone call when it is our turn. We browsed for 25 minutes, waiting. No contact from CVS. I went back to the clinic area where someone different (polite, nice) checked the computer, and told me they jave no appointment in their database. Also, there are no further available appointments. She couldn't help in any way. While we were leaving, the manager was busy trying to kick some other people out of the store. Except for the head pharmacist, the people working the pharmacy are respectful and address customer concerns when they come up. More often than not, I end up having to wait very long for my prescriptions. I understand that they're probably understaffed and very busy, so that is usually not a problem for me because I know it is not their fault. However, I will admit that it is an inconvenience on my end and that it is probably a management problem that needs to resolved at a higher level. (Again, that is something that neither I nor the workers can control.) However, my loyalty to CVS Pharmacy came to an end when I talked to the head pharmacist. On multiple occasions, he had a rude and snappy attitude with me. All I am trying to do is get my medication for the sake of my health! Why was it so hard for him to treat customers with patience, respect, and common decency like the rest of the staff does? Again, I really want to emphasize that the pharmacist here is extremely condescending and RUDE. It totally ruined my experience. I called the pharmacy with legitimate concerns, and I was belittled and disrespected. So, even though this pharmacy is the closest one to my home, I still decided to switch pharmacies solely due to the rudeness of the pharmacist. It is bad enough that prescriptions are so expensive.The CVS in Woodbridge mixed up the strength of a medication. There is no accountability. Pharmacy does not know what they are doing for vaccinations. Go to your primary Dr instead. You schedule an appointment with one group and they push you over to the minute clinic who doesn't even have a reservation for you. This is the worst CVS I have ever been to. If I could give it a -10 I would. They don't answer the phone most of the time or if they do they keep you on hold and/or hang up on you or can't help you. I have paid for prescriptions twice b/c they can't get their systems straight and I could go on and on and on. I get the same prescription monthly and every single month there is an issue - EVERY MONTH - there has not been even one where there is NOT an issue. They slammed the drive thru in my face when i got there at 735 PM and they took 25 min for the car in front of me then refused to help me when I am going on travel. I scheduled an appointment at this location a week in advance. I arrived at the location only for the minute clinic to be closed. I arrived the following morning to speak to someone about it and they said they were booked for the day and I couldn't be seen and that I would have to just schedule another appointment. I think I'm being generous by rating this location with a 2.... It's a very basic CVS. The store for the most part serves its purpose if I need to run in for something from a local drug store. However, with that said, sometimes their stock is out and the line is long for no reason. This is starting to get pretty annoying. Let's talk about the pharmacy tho.... Um, yea, I'm writing this review while I wait for my prescription. Now that I think about it, it was a hassle when I dropped it off a week ago and it's another hassle to pick it up. This seems to be the norm and I'm probably about to switch my meds to another location, to be honest. Customer service at the pharmacy is subpar and the pharmacists and technicians are always backed up and slow. These guys had a week to get this done. Good grief! I was asked if I wanted to wait because they'll go ahead and fill it. I fell for it.... I've been in this store for about 30 min. They quoted me 5 min tho... The CVS Pharmacy on Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries, Va. lacks leadership and management! They do not always have the medication needed and this delays getting meds when needed. The pharmacy staff do not check the doctor's prescription call in line on a regular basis, which causes serious problem for the patient in pain or urgent need for the meds. This has happened on 2 separate occasions for me. The patient call in line is rarely answered either. I stayed on hold for 30minutes while I ate lunch and hung up.The pharmacy is not efficient. read more

I've used this CVS many times and have never had a problem I could not solve. As far as shopping for stuff, I go in and out. Usually I can find someone who can help me if I am looking for something. As far as the pharmacy, they're usually pretty good but usually there is a long wait time. I know that the best option is to give myself extra time for everything. I have used CVS for all of my pharmacy needs for over a decade and the entire pharmacy staff at this location takes the highest rating for poor customer service, terrible system and information management (they will lose your prescriptions, your personnel information, insurance details, etc.), and fill prescriptions at an unbelievably slow timeline as if people's lives don't depend on the medication they should be filling. The Pharmacy Staff's incompetence alone should have this location closed / shut down. CVS on Jefferson Davis Hwy is where I normally have all my prescriptions filled. In April I had a prescription filled that I have been receiving from them for the past few years without issue. Unfortunately, this time the prescription was short by 15 pills. I was told that because it's a controlled substance (not a narcotic) that there was nothing they could do. The pharmacist on duty when I returned said that moving forward I should ask that the medication be counted again in front of me. He also said that he would put a note in the system allowing me to pick up the remainder of the prescription (9 tabs) earlier than normal. Of course, I return today to pick up the reminder and am denied. The pharmacist did place the note in the system but due to regulatory reasons they could not honor the note. I totally understand regulatory laws, that's not the issue - that's also why I decided to only write a yelp review expressing my disappointment. Truth is, I won't experience a bad outcome if I don't have the 15 other pills. My argument is what am I to do as a consumer when the pharmacist makes a counting error? They said that their count was correct - of course they are gonna make it correct! I'm telling them that the count for the total number of pills that I received was off by 15. My only recourse is to request that the medication be recounted in front of me at pick up or I could switch pharmacy's but that will effect me more. Before this issue, I've never had a negative experience with this local store. I hope that the pharmacist will pay greater attention to DETAILS moving forward. Respectfully submitted. read more

For the most part I like this pharmacy location... However they actually LOST one of my percriptions one time and then got smart with me when I said I would stay and wait for them to finish it really quick telling me that they were already busy... It was New Year's Eve so I totally get it BUT the mistake was theirs not mine and I needed that medication. Today however made up for any bad experiences I ever had because the pharmacist confirmed a drug interaction for one of my family members that we had been concerned about for a couple of years! Her taking the time out of her day to explain that interaction with us really made me love the location and want to continue to use it. The drive up option is so great! I was scheduled for an appointment at 5:15. I have no words for the quality of this appointment because I was never seen. While I arrived late and owned up to my error, I was less than 15 mins late due to traffic. Upon checking into the system, I was told I was 45 minutes late, which was not true (45 mins had not even passed since my appointment time). Rather than immediately tell me I would or would not be able to be seen, I was then ignored until they could tell me I was this late. It was then offered for me to wait until the next patient was seen which I agreed to. When no patient appeared I talked to the nurse and asked if I could be seen as I was the only person present in the clinic, she first agreed and then changed her mind. As she was taking me into my appointment another person walked in, also 15 mins late. This person was allowed in front of me and I was dismissed without treatment. From a place that consistently runs AT LEAST 30 mins behind and expects us to wait this amount of time, this treatment was unacceptable and I will no longer be using minute clinic services. read more

Service is terrible. Staff is rude. Lines are long most of the time. Drive through us even worse - wait time can be ten to fifteen minutes with only one car ahead of you. Not sure what the problem is - why they staff the store so poorly - I've been going there for over a year because my insurance requires it for chronic meds - so I'm stuck and experience their poor service every single month. This store's approach is to just produce and crank out Rx without any care for their customers - don't expect to get advice or any kind of decent service. And heaven forbid don't ask any questions or have a situation that doesn't fit nicely in their box and script of "how to". The store is not well kept but beyond that, since I don't eat here, this has to be the most incompetent group of people I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I've never had really a problem at a pharmacy until coming to this location. They never have any of my medication in stock first off, so when I drop something off I have to return the next day. Then they lost 3 of my prescriptions when I did return. Their pharmacists will go on break and never submit your prescription so you'll end up waiting an hour and not even know that they never even put it in the system.
