Given that all of my physicians including my dermatologist are in this general area, I utilize this pharmacy to fill my prescription medications. The staff members are very pleasant with a few exceptions. I find it incredibly frustrating to have medications prescribed and have to delay pickup for at least two days to allow time for the order to be filled. Sometimes even allowing this extra time doesn't ensure that medications are ready. I've been back since this visit to drop off a prescription this past Thursday for ibuprofen 800, which is commonly prescribed. I was told they had to order it and there wasn't enough on hand to fill my prescription. I went in yesterday and was told that it the order still has not been filled due to staffing issues. Like others have said For Pharmacy services, overall, not a good customer experience, avoid this cvs location if you looking for a reliable place to refill a prescription. They do not fill prescriptions timely, they do not answer their phone. Even physicians offices need to wait on hold for 40 minutes or more. I had a prescription that was sent to this location, but supposedly was never in stock, despite me having a virtual appointment with my doctor where he sent it out a week before I first visited this cvs location. I stopped in early February, wasn't available. I stopped in about two weeks later, wasn't available. The man who worked in the pharmacy questioned me, as if I came to the pharmacy to soon, even though I had told him I had less than 10 capsules left. I've never been to a CVS where you as a customer are questioned for why you're even there in the first place. I'm trying to figure out when this CVS opened because I've probably been shopping here that long. It's at least close to 20 years I've been coming here, and it's funny I've overlooked doing a Yelp review for probably close to a decade. This place is solid if not spectacular, a conveniently located store to pop into to pick up a few staples. The guy who said he only comes here late at night is like my spirit animal. It's a bit of a chore shopping here during the day, I preferred the now defunct CVS on Woodward just north of East Grand for that, but when the moon is out this place is easy peezy. No crowds, self checkout, chill and friendly employees, what's not to love? Sure, there may be a homeless person begging for change outside, but how am I gonna hate on someone who has nothing? I might give them a few coins, I might not, but I can only think of one time in close to two decades here a beggar has gotten belligerent with me. I see the cops up here a lot, too, and believe me those Wayne State police show up with a quickness. DPD, well, they might have bigger fish to fry... As far as the pharmacy itself that everyone is dogging on, I think I've only used it once or twice, for painkillers after root canals and/or extractions (teeth are such a bitch!) and I think it was kind of a long wait but I honestly don't remember much one way or another. Maybe I was still foggy from the local anesthesia or something. I've shopped this place for housewares, supplemental groceries, snacks, cat food and litter, office supplies, vitamins, last minute gifts, one hour photo and more. The 24 hour convenience is what really seals the deal, especially when I forgot to get cat food from Marcus and I'm already imagining Jackie meowing in famished indignation. And sure, the receipts are ridiculously long with all those coupons that expire after like two days that I always forget to use but I found a good use for them, too. This pharmacy is a mess when I tell you it's so draining dealing with them. They misplaced your prescription let you wait for 30min to 1hr when your medication is supposedly ready. I have so many problems with this CVS. It takes an hour every time I am able to successfully pick up my prescription, and I have numerous visits where I "give up" because it takes too long. Where to start? CVS auto-dials me that my prescription is ready for pick up when it is not, and I have to wait in the store. There is usually a huge line at the counter and 5 people behind the counter - four of which are doing nothing (one pharmacist who pokes slowly at a computer the entire time, two employees talking to each other and ignoring customers, one wandering around the aisles and not helping anyone) - and then one frantic employee trying to help the entire line in the store as well as the drive thru while discovering that no one's prescription is actually ready. There are two check-out machines but one is perpetually down. On my previous visit the one functioning machine shut-down in the middle of my transaction as the frantic employee punched desperately at the buttons. In resignation he said he would have to restart the machine and it would take 20 minutes - what!? It didn't take 20 minutes - it took 45 minutes, and the line grew all the way through the store. The employee told me to complete my other purchases at the front while I waited and then come back but when I returned the rest of the line began yelling at me to get in line! The 5 employees behind the counter did nothing to quell the unrest. I understand their frustration... but no way in hell am I waiting in line for 25 minutes to get to the counter, 45 min for the machine to reboot, and then in line again! On my LAST visit I attempted to fill a prescription via the drive-thru window during standard OPEN hours (with my 3 young kids in the car) and came to a handwritten "Close" sign with no explanation. As many other reviewers have said, the pharmacy is utterly ridiculous. Just wanted to get my flu shot. Had an appointment. I have a nationally recognized PPO that I have used all over the country with no issues. Somehow I left without getting a flu shot. Those were among the most annoying 9 minutes I've spent on my life. Glad those dodos couldn't figure out my insurance, I wouldn't want them coming anywhere near me with a needle. Avoid at all costs. read more

If I could give this location zero stars I would. They did not enter my prescription into the system so when I tried to get it transferred to two other locations neither cvs locations could find a prescription. They don't answer the phone and when they do it's to hang up. I called 3 times and was on hold for about 12 minutes just for someone to pick up the phone and hang up. When I finally got through to someone they said they couldn't fill my prescription because their refrigerator was down, and to try a different location. Well I did try in fact two locations who stated that they couldn't find my prescription which is how I know it wasn't entered into the system after my doctor sent it over. This has left a nasty taste in my mouth and will now have everything sent to rite aid up the street. read more

I have never once called in a prescription here and had it be ready at the time promised. This last time, I called one in for a Friday pickup and decided to wait til Saturday thinking they'd definitely have it ready with an extra 24 hours to prepare. Nope. The girl at the register asked me to wait while they get it together. I asked if they were going to do it before they closed in 10 minutes, and she said she wasn't sure. Did you just ask me to wait around to see if you may or may not do your jobs?! The other girl who works the register is even more daft. She frequently forgets my name as she's going back to get my prescription and wanders aimlessly. One time, a guy behind me in line was recording on his phone. I told her that's a privacy violation and that she should do something about it. She was so confused about why that's an issue, and her solution was to turn the screen toward me (and the camera) so I could type in my info instead of saying it. Instead of enforcing HIPAA laws as I'm sure her job requires, I guess she was hoping he was doing a podcast instead of a video? Now I have to look for a new pharmacy. Open to suggestions, literally any place that can fill a prescription when asked is an improvement. read more

A scary neighborhood, and slow service, long lines and bad parking spots makes it a real dangerous place to be. Have used their pharmacy service and took forever to get the drug. The area isn't clean and you can see trash just outside the door. Have seen homeless lurking around as well, which makes it unsafe during night hours. All said and done, this is still the closest pharmacy for many on campus (reasonable than the on campus pharmacy). Students will feel better to come here once some better establishments come up next to it. Good part, you can save using CVS rewards program. Kiosk machines make it much easier than the long queues and isles having enough description makes it easier to find stuff. I will definitely not be using the drug prescription and refill service thanks to my own experience and several reviews mentioned here. read more

CVS is my go to for Green Dot money card fill ups as well as my tissue and bath items needs. CVS is also my pharmacy. I am a breast cancer survivor and am still on medication which I receive monthly. If my doctor forgets to give me a prescription CVS calls my doctor for me so I am never without my meds. The rewards program is helpful and I save a lot of money for my family. CVS no longer sales cigarettes because of their commitment to the health of their customers. I am highly thankful for this. I buy everything from my bath items no candles, lotions, allergy and cold medicine, etc. I do so knowing my family is getting good deals. Thanks Cvs. read more

This is the worst drugstore I've had the displeasure of visiting: the pharmacist lie for convenience purposes or are rude due to the large demand for business their. No one ever answers the phone and when they do their rude or not knowledgeable. The amount of work you as the client have to put in to ensure you get your medication on time is seriously exhausting, and what's even worse is we spend so much money on many of the drugs we purchase despite insurance coverage. Today I waited an entire hour in their store first until they returned from lunch: though this did not upset me even when they were a little late getting back from lunch. What upset me was returning today after being told 24 hours ahead of time by their head pharmacy to come back today after 12:00: upon arriving and waiting for lunch to be over I was informed he told many people to come back today. When I arrived today (the following day), I was instructed to come back in an hour, I could not leave and come back in another hour as gas is expensive and my time is an invaluable resource. Today was and will forever be the last trip I make to cvs for now I have switched to Walgreens and cvs based on the many negative and traumatizing experiences have lost me indefinitely. I wish you all do a better job to aid the staff or enrich the pharmacist you hire to be leaders who take charge of the work and team to which they employ. Cvs is a fortune 15 company who has failed to live up to the expectations set forth by its originators. I wish this establishment was closed to be quite honest not simply because I'm always inconvenienced but because it's no order and no care at this location ever: just because you're busy and do a large volume of business doesn't mean we as clients should be forced to suffer the blunt of work. I have been a long-time CVS fan and always have pleasant experiences up until I used this CVS. My dog was not feeling well, so my vet called in a prescription and told me to check within an hour. I called this store to check on the status of the prescription only to be placed on hold for 25 minutes. Every so often, someone would pick up the phone and go, "hello?" And then immediately put me on hold. I was transferred to 3 different people, asked to repeat my personal information to every one, and was told to just make up a birthday for my dog when I couldn't give them a date. I was yelled at for interrupting them when they got my dog's name wrong, and all in all this experience took 40 minutes. Horrible time, I will be asking for the pharmacy district leader's contact info and they will be hearing from me. read more

Great location. Always a guy at the entrance asking for change. They usually have sale items in stock but a lot of their items are locked up...like body wash!?! It takes them forever to get someone to come unlock it and then It's kind of annoying to have someone breathing over your shoulder while you're looking at stuff. I've sat on hold trying to transfer a prescription to my new location for a good 10 minutes just to be hung up on. After calling back (3 times in the same hour to be put on hold yet again, and "disconnected") I ask if it's better to come in person to get scripts filled and info transferred. When I arrived, I waited 20 minutes and the staff lazily walked around with a line of 8 people waiting until someone who looked like they knew what they were doing told the other coworkers people were waiting. The pharmacy is the hands down worst that I've ever encountered. There is usually a line with only one cashier at the pharmacy counter. They constantly miscounted my pills on a number of occasions. Three times back to back. Pharmacist has very poor customer service skills. There is no point asking him any questions. The workers are behind the counter eating. Very unprofessional. I almost missed a refill for a life critical recurring medication due to this store. I came in with 5 days remaining on my prescription and was told by the pharmacist that they needed to order more of the pills. I returned the next day to find out they hadn't ordered the pills and the pharmacist asked me to return the following day. I tried to call the CVS on Thursday but was on hold for over 5 minutes. Then I tried to call again but was put on hold for over five minutes again. Finally I called another CVS and asked them to transfer my prescription. That pharmacist called the CVS on Warren who informed them my pills would be ready the following day. On Friday, I went to the CVS again and was told that the pills were on backorder and I needed to wait until Monday. So I switched my prescription. I will never shop at this store for pharmacy again and will switch to another company for my pharmacy needs. read more
