I do not get CVS. For the life of me I cannot understand the layout of CVS. I have been to many of their locations and they all seem very oddly designed. The shelves are too low and I can't figure it out. If you are one of the folks who does get the layout, feel free to call me a moron and enjoy your shelves designed for little people. This location has all the quirks of a typical CVS, but it also seems incredibly run down. I am not sure how long it has been there, but it feels old, has a dirty parking lot, and doesn't feel like a place I want to shop. I stopped in here to get some hand sanitizer and some snacks. I was successful in getting these things, but it was not a very pleasant experience. If you're in Destrehan and need a drug store, I would probably seek out a Walgreens. I haven't found one yet, but surely it is better than this CVS. read more

Thank you to the lady that gave me my medication and check me out I appreciate everything done The store is great but I can no longer use the pharmacy after yesterday I'm a diabetic I received my machine from CVS Destrehan I asked the pharmacist if she could help me because it was showing a code I never saw she never looked at it she put on mask and gloves and ask if I changed the batteries and said I'm sure it's the batteries She was reluctant in doing that much I felt like had done something wrong I went to another CVS where they help me. read more

This used to be my least favorite drug store, but in the last 3 years it has steadily improved merchandise. I still do not get my prescriptions here, but my significant other loves the pharmacy. They would not stop calling me to refill mine so I went back to Destrehan Discount, which has other problems that I had to call Silver Script to straighten out. Its merchandise is a poor second, so I'll continue to split my business. read more

0 Stars would be more appropriate. I have been a customer of this store for 15+ years and now I'm done. Today I made the mistake of questioning a managers knowledge of their policy, as stated on the CVS website. I was ignored, walked away from, infantilized and gaslit. When I had finally had enough and raised my voice (as people who are ignored tend to do) I was told I could be escorted out of the store! I was also told if I didn't like the policy or her attitude, I shouldn't shop there. This was the most horrible experience I have ever had at a retail store. I am a slow learner. I travel a lot due to work, I have used CVS all over the US, in probably 30 different states, they are always by far the worst pharmacies in the "pharm chain" range. I don't "choose to use" CVS, it is more a matter of it was the closest place to my home, thus making it the most convenient. I thought I had seen the worst in Berwick, PA. Wrong, this one on Airline Hi-way in Destrehan is by far the worst of the worst. Again, chose it because it was close to my home. I'll be moving my scripts to Winn Dixie across the street or driving to Sam's in Kenner. Their lack of ability to take care of customers in proper order, pay attention to customers who have been waiting, as they were told to, to only be ignored, the rudeness of the majority of the pharm staff and overall apathetic attitude is horrendous. (Two customers who had been waiting longer then I had walked out, they gave up, as did I, but guess what, we had no choice, we had to go back, they had us as a hostage of sorts, they had the meds we needed or we needed to have the script back to go to another pharmacy!) The fact that it is this way overall nationally... makes me wonder if they seek/strive to only hire poor management and employees for the pharmacy. The sad part is, if I don't have to deal with the pharmacy personal, shopping ion the store is great, get away from the pharm department and the rest of the staff is friendly and helpful AND ALERT. I am no longer a slow learner, after two years of trying to tolerate overall horrid service, I'm done. I won't spend another dime in a CVS anywhere. This will cost them about $17,000.00 a year in revenue. I plan to tell everyone I know to stop using CVS....and I suggest anyone reading the reviews here, take them to heart! The people at corporate need to get on the ball and take a good long hard look at how bad these pharmacies are operated! read more

Worst customer service ever. Majority of the people there look like they hate their job and act unprofessional. On the phone they are rude and short. I called the pharmacy twice. The first time the tech wouldn't help me and made me come in. The second time they hung up on me. read more

I shop here all the time. I avoid the big W place like the plague. The prices are high the service is not up to par with the prices, but something about being able to run in and out and avoid screaming brats and the flip flop and pajama crowd appeals to me. read more

Absolute worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I've put up with them for years, but yesterday I finally transferred all of prescriptions to a different pharmacy. Nobody working at this CVS knows how to do their job, are the rudest customer service employees I've ever seen, and they don't care about lying right to your face. I was told on a Wednesday that my prescription would be ready for pick-up two days later (Friday) at 10 am. I go at noon and it isn't ready, they tell me to go back in line at the drop-off counter. I wait 15 minutes and finally speak to a short black woman wearing glasses and a crew-cut style of hair (anyone who goes there knows exactly who I'm talking about, I want everyone to be aware of which one she is). I told her that I spoke with someone two days prior and was told that it would be ready today. She looked at me said, "no you didn't". She called me a liar to my face and went on to say that it wouldn't be ready for two more days. I asked why and she said because it can't be filled until 28 days after the prior refill; that day was the 28th day. I explained to her that December has 31 days, and today is the 28th day. She told me I was wrong and to have a nice day. Absolute worst, rudest service imaginable. This is just one of the many things wrong with this place. They're messing with people's prescribed medication and not doing it right because they're too lazy and incompetent to do it correctly. read more

This is absolutely the worst pharmacy I've ever seen. There are only 2 people out of the entire staff that are helpful and they are very helpful. The rest are rude, impersonal, indignant, arrogant and could care less if you ever use their pharmacy again. I have read other reviews and talked to others in the community and cannot understand how they continue to operate in the manner they do. I have moved all my business to Destrehan Pharmacy and you should too. read more

Person #1: helped me in the drive thru when I dropped off my prescription: "we're closing soon; if you want your prescription today you have to come inside." Later in the conversation: "It will be ready in 5-10 minutes." Me: "Ok great. So come inside?" Her: "We'll text you." Ok. I go to Winn-Dixie to kill time and pick up a few things. Waiting on text. And waiting. And waiting. 40 minutes later I get the bright idea to call and check on the prescription status. The lady on the other end looks me up and then says: "Oh yeah it's ready. I told you it would be ready right away." Me: "Well you told me to wait for the text." Her: "Well I don't know why it wasn't sent out. Your number is in there." Ok great. Whatever. Check out at WD then head back over, and the drive thru service is super slow even tho I'm the first one in line. I would give them the benefit of the doubt but it seems like other reviewers have had similar experiences. Not coming back here unless I have no other choice. Let me start by saying that 9 out of 10 times, this pharmacy is UNBELIEVABLY slow. I have attempted to fill the same prescriptions through the drive thru 4 times in the last week, but I did not have time to wait more than 10 minutes to drop them off, so I wound up pulling away each time. Today at 4:30pm, I could not put it off any longer, so I waited... when the woman at the window found time to greet me, I let her know I needed to drop off my prescriptions. She sent me the tube. Inside of the tube was someone else's insurance card with all of their personal information on it. I added my prescriptions, sent everything back, then called her again. She asked what I wanted and I let her know that she had sent me someone's insurance card, to be sure to remove it. She sounded extremely confused and asked when I wanted to pick up my prescriptions. I asked her how soon they could have them ready. She let out a big sigh and said, "maybe 6:30"... ok thank you. My husband went to pick them up, which took approximately an hour, and they only gave him two of three prescriptions. We will be receiving medicines and shopping elsewhere from now on. read more
