They have in the span of 8 months; lied about what they have in stock to avoid filling my prescription while I am there, lost my paper prescription and refused to do anything about getting me my meds, taken multiple days to unload boxes that had my prescription and otherwise have been inaccessible and unhelpfull. I've been a regular CVS customer and am generally pleased with their service. I've been using this CVS lately but I've had service issues 3 out of the last 4 times. Today, after learning that a single prescription was called in 9am, I checked the status through the app and was told it would be ready after 4pm. Shortly after 4, the app stated there's been a delay. I called and left message explaining that I needed the prescription and to transfer it to the CVS on N.Highland if there's a problem because I needed to pick it up today. At 4:30, I rec'd a call back and was told "we have it, give me 30 minutes." I went there at 6:30, 90 mins after the updated time it would be ready, only to be told it wasn't ready and would take 30 minutes to fill. Frustrated, I explained what happened. I was told they would expedite it but it if it wasn't ready by 7pm, I would need to wait until tomorrow, which I said was not acceptable. Thankfully, it was ready at 6:55. The person checking me out made no comment about my delay, inconvenience or their service failure. I told her it would be appropriate to at least say I'm sorry for your delay. That would be good service as delays happen and they only had one pharmacist filling prescriptions. Her response was that she wasn't the person who told me the prescription would be ready at 5pm. This was the final straw. I should've stopped using this CVS--as my wife had done 2 yrs ago--but stuck with them because I kept thinking they'd get better. A simple "sorry for your inconvenience" goes a long way and seems like an easy response to a service failure, but that didn't even happen. read more

I've been to this CVS Pharmacy at Emory Village a couple times. It's a suburban-sized CVS that's open 24 hours. Free parking can be hard to come by in Emory Village because of all the restaurants (and retail businesses) and limited parking lots in the immediate area. Luckily, if you're a customer of this CVS, you can park in their free and relatively spacious lot directly outside. Just don't walk off the property after shopping here or you'll get booted or towed. I last stopped by this CVS to pick up a tube of "After Bite" ($4.99 for 20 grams) for a mysterious bug bite/sting I sustained earlier in the day. The cream really didn't help much. It was disappointing. So much for the "Instant Relief!" advertised on the box. I think perhaps my bite/sting was too severe for the cream to help. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't have bought it. The store was clean, brightly lit, well-stocked, and compactly and efficiently organized. The staff was friendly and they greeted customers as they walked in. When you're ready to pay, you can have an employee ring you up or you can use one of multiple self-checkout stations. I went with the latter and had no problems. In the end, I think this CVS is A-OK (3 stars), but I'm bumping it up to 4 stars because it's open 24/7 and the staff was nice. read more

Unorganized. No communication. I will not be going back. Impossible to get a Covid shot even with an appointment. . Should be so simple.

First let me say the cashiers in the front of the store are always very nice and helpful. There are some nice people in the pharmacy and many times they have more staff than it looks like they should. But the pharmacy is so disorganized it takes over an hour to pick up prescriptions ordered days prior. Avoid the pharmacy at all costs. I ordered an item 3 days ago online and went to pick it up today but it was not ready. They told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. After 45 minutes I went up to the cashier and she said again it would be ready in 20 minutes. The item is an electronic device in a sealed box. No pill counting, no special permissions. Just print out the order, put it in the box, put it in the bag. that's it. I left without it. maybe I'll go back tomorrow. read more

I mistakenly switched prescription service to N. Decatur store from Ponce de Leon store and the service is very poor. This location is severely understaffed and the non-pharmacist staff does not use common sense when requesting refills, nor do the people there make any effort to notify patients of any changes. Also, I was once on hold for 48 minutes and hung up after that after being on hold for 35 mins before and calling back. I never get push notifications. Of course, I took the complaint to the manager last month and she said it was a training issue but the same things happened today with the same staff members there today. They have lost my business and I highly recommend considering other locations. read more

I left 2 prescription to be filled with a pharmacy technician. She said it would be a hour and that she would text me. I never got a text on that day. The next day I called after noon to get the prescription. The lead text told me in a rude manner to get a new prescription from the provider. I asked what happened to the paper copies that I left with you. She told me rudely that she didn't know! I asked for the pharmacist and she hung up. After calling back, the pharmacist answered, apologize and told me they had recovered the prescription. If this is representation of "CVS", I will never use them again. The Emory Village CVS is super fancypants now that the renovations inside the store have been completed in the last month. In many respects, this CVS is like any other: the same selection of items in the same basic layout. Now that it has been updated, there are also three self-checkout lines, which will greatly aid the getting in-and-out during busy times. A great feature of this store is that it is open 24/7. Another is that no one ever looks at me or my running gang funny when we dash in to use the bathroom (straight back, to the left). Also, their selection of alcohol is KILLER for a franchise convenience store. Whenever I go to CVSs that don't sell alcohol (say, the CVS on North Decatur Rd across from DeKalb Medical), I remember how fabulous the Emory Village CVS is. The check-out people who work here tend to be really nice and the pharmacy folk do their job well, too. So why does this CVS only get three stars, you ask? Because of the dude who stands in the parking lot during the school year who checks to make sure that if you park in the CVS lot, you do not go anywhere other than CVS. He will boot your car and you will pay $75 to get it off. He shows no mercy. I do not have personal experience of this, but I speak to the experience of many a friend who has. Seriously: don't even walk across the street to get a hot bev at Starbucks. And don't try to sneak behind the fro-yo place and the Center for Science Education building: he will see you, even if you think he won't, and your car will be booted. Even though I only park here when I'm honest to God going only to CVS, this dude makes me want to shake my fist at him on behalf of other folks. read more

Best flu shot EVER! This review is for the Minute Clinic in this particular CVS. It rocks. I arrived at 8:30am midweek, and there were two women waiting with a child. I used the handy-dandy kiosk (secretrobot) to sign in and enter my personal data (address, allergies, etc.). As soon as I sat down, they called my name. Hooray. Originally I planned to go the wimpy "no-needle flu mist" route, but they didn't have any more, so I sucked it up and took the shot like a man. The guy attending to me said he was the best shot giver, which I assumed was friendly banter, BUT HE ACTUALLY WAS. I was chatting and did not realize that I received my shot!!!!!!! That's how awesome-ninja-stealthy he was. I'm all, "blah blah blah jibber jabber." He's all, "Blam, you're done." Thirty bucks. All of that transpired in no more than 15 minutes. During my 20-minute post-vaccination walk-around, I purchased some orange LED Halloween lights. I'll be back for the swine flu vaccine. Bonus: You can log into your account online and upload your data to Google Health, where you can track/organize/nerdify your health records. I love that shit. read more

The pharmacy is just HORRIBLE. I waited at the counter to drop off a prescription for my boyfriend who had an unexpected and serious medical procedure. While waiting, a never ending line of people kept checking out. I was the only person at the drop off counter. The cashier was taking people who clearly came in after me. After about 10 minutes, I got really frustrated and went to the pick up line in hopes that I could get some help. The cashier informed me that he saw me standing at the drop off counter and he would help me soon. He told me to go back to the drop off counter. I waited for about 10 minutes for him to help me. Eventually, the pharmacist helped me instead. He told me that it would take about an hour to fill the prescription. I went home and waited for over two hours. Fortunately, this CVS is only 2.5 miles from my home. After waiting for a very long time in line to pick the prescription up, I learned that the credit card machine wasn't working and that they were only taking cash. I went to get cash and returned and waited in the never ending line again. When it was my turn, I was told that there weren't any orders in the system. The pharmacist heard him and told him that he was in the process of entering the prescription information into their system. I waited for about 20 minutes and the prescription wasn't ready. I left and went to the grocery store. I took my dear sweet time shopping and then I returned to CVS to pick up the prescription. I was told that the prescription still wasn't ready. I was frustrated and told the cashier that I had made three attempts to pick up the prescription and that it was supposed to have been ready hours before. The pharmacist heard me and said "I'm working on that order now." I waited for about 15 minutes, then I called my boyfriend to complain loudly in a crowd of people. This usually works for me. I told my boyfriend that I would have to come home and return for a fourth time, since I had fresh fish in the car. At that moment, the pharmacist loudly announced my boyfriend's name. The store employees (not the pharmacy employees) deserve 5 stars. They are so helpful and nice. They will go out of their way to help people. The only option to check out was through the self checkout machines. These machines are ridiculously complicated. Someone came over and helped me. I told her that the machine was very confusing and she told me that they were ridiculous and people always had problems. read more

As someone who worked for two years as a medical dispatcher for patient services nationwide during the pandemic, I completely understand taking high-stakes, high-volume calls all day can be exhausting. That being said, I have called this pharmacy 5-6 times over the course of two days during different times of the day to get some prescriptions transferred. I have been out of my medication for two days (my fault for bad planning I suppose), and I have been put on terminal hold for 15+ minutes on each call and then hung up on. I understand having a bad day, but every call everyday is a bit much. read more

As a recent grad with no health insurance this place is life saver. The Minute Clinic will get you set up with the right prescription with minimal delay. The crazies in line with you will keep you entertained. I try to not go to these places all the much but when I do I am down with this one for sure. I actually came to this location because of the minute clinic. Didn't know how they worked and I came in asking about a pulled shoulder muscle. The doctor told me they only really deal with flu and allergy related problems, but pointed me to a few nearby doctor's offices he highly recommended. He didn't have to do that but I appreciate it all the same. read more

The pharmacy is slow and even with 4 or 5 people working in the pharmacy, there is only one person checking the multitude of people out. I will keep going here because it's really convenient to my house. Also, others have talked about how they boot you if you even look at another business and while I didn't face this myself, I did see 2 cars with boots on them so don't risk parking there unless you are just going to CVS. read more

When I needed a passport photo done, I had to wait over an hour for someone else to assist me because the photo person never came back from lunch. When I used their Minute Clinic for a TB test, I had to again wait over an hour beyond my scheduled appointment time because they knew one of the providers wouldn't be on site that day and failed to notify their customers of delays. I also found out they no longer do TB blood tests, only TB skin tests... but not until I waited over an hour. If you get a TB skin test done, check that an appointment will be available to read the test BEFORE you initiate it because there might not be any available. Overall, I've never had good service at any CVS location, but this is by far the worst location I've ever been to. read more

It's an average CVS staffed with dumb people that don't know about how to get a money order. And don't know that money order cannot exceed 1000 so the machine keeps getting turned down from the bank. I would prefer to deal with a machine rather than talk to these people in real life. I don't really care about being greeted every day since I don't wanna talk to people in a store like this. Also, the pharmacy lady had me waited like 10 mins in front of her while she was on her phone. After asking me everything she told me to move to the other side for pick up. And the pick up person just went through all the questions again. What a waste of time and energy! read more

Why all the awful reviews? I stopped in recently to get passport photos taken. The CVS employee (manager?) was the only person working but she made the time to take my photo (while advising on smoothing out my hair to make sure I looked good!), get it printed and cut, and get me checked out in the self checkout registers. She evenly complimented me on how the photo turned out so well...maybe it was kind of complimenting her own photo taking skills, but still...it's nice to not have an awful passport photo that I'm stuck with for 10 years. There are 15 minute parking spots in front of the store for quick shopping trips. read more

However, if you value your time and sanity just go to the CVS Emory Point. The staff here at the N. I confirmed that this was the CVS in Emory Village, I didn't need to make an appointment, and the pharmacy closed at 9 p.m. I JUST exited the store (that I drove 20 minutes to get to) after being told that the only flu shots they had were for seniors. COULD THE CVS EMPLOYEE HAVE MENTIONED THAT ON THE PHONE??? So now I'll drive 20 minutes back home. What a HUGE waste of time. And I also don't appreciate the two jerks working there who acted like I was inconveniencing them by expressing 1 minute of confusion before moving away from the counter. This is a good store. They have a good selection of products and the store is clean. The employees are helpful and friendly. The parking lot next to the store is large. We have enjoyed using the pharmacy and the self checkout. I have been to one CVS store in Maryland where the store was worn, and people stood outside the store asking for money. This CVS is completely different. We will continue to shop at this store. read more

They've enacted a horrible policy where you MUST use their stupid self checkout machines. Apparently the staff here can not handle the 2 customers they get at a time. The only reason to go to a local, overpriced CVS is for customer service and convenience, they don't get that anymore. read more

So this is just a normal CVS, nothing special. The reason it gets only one star is because of the parking policy. If you park in the lot and leave the premises at ALL (whether it's to run across the street, make a Starbucks trip, etc.), your car will get booted and you will have to pay a $75 fee. The booting guy, Frederick, does not listen to reason and WILL make you pay, unless you want to have your car towed. Trying to reason with the businesses, the property management, or Alpha Booting Company will not get you anywhere either. My advice: whatever you need from CVS, you can get elsewhere. If you're walking here, then good for you. If you're driving, I'd suggest going to the CVS or Kroger on North Druid Hills Road instead. The traffic around this area is horrible too. read more

The pharmacy staff are nice but my prescriptions have been messed up four times in six months - either they ordered and gave me the wrong Rx (diabetes supplies, not drugs) or they didn't have something in stock but failed to let me know that it would be five more days until it would be in. I've stopped using this pharmacy, though I'll still come here for OTC and other stuff if need-be. I recommend the CVS nearby at Emory Point. read more

Update: more recently, pharmacy staff has been more efficient and friendly towards customers. They also had my automatic renewal without me asking or requesting. Pharmacy never has my prescription when they are supposed to, they say they automatically refill (when you opt for that) but they never refill it, it usually takes half an hour or more to get something that I was just supposed to pick up, and the phone call I just had with the pharmacy was rude and unhelpful. Getting really tired of this pharmacy, even though it's one of the more convenient places to go. read more

So remember, shopping at this CVS store may cost a lot, unless you don't care $75 charges to remove boot off.
