Small animal wellness check. The rabbit was so calm during the visit.

Happy to learn the clinic accepts small animal wellness checks. Luckily I found this location in Boerne, TX via Yelp as opposed to driving out of town. The rabbit was so calm and the clinic staff provided excellent animal care!

Amazing staff! I took one of my pet chickens to get checked because she wasn't acting herself, she was eating and drinking less than usual so i was very concerned, they saw me the next day, tested her stool and was able to get a diagnosis for my fluffy girl, I'm extremely grateful for their care for my beautiful Diana, I know must people think is just a chicken, but they are more than that for me, they are my pets and I love them, I'm very grateful with Dr. Hamad and everyone else at the clinic, my little lady is doing better now and eating better! They have affordable prices also! I highly recommend them :)

Recovering

Vet Dr. Hamaud and staff super friendly and helpful. My dog was sick, coughing, gagging, and drooling. They took great care of him and found tonsil was enlarged. My pug was treated quickly, got in immediately, received good care, and prices were very competitive to other vets. Added bonus Cutting Edge Vet Clinic open certain weekends per the month. Great service and weekends too!! I'm a very picky pet owner and loved this clinic!! Thank you all at Cutting Edge Pet Clinic!!

This is Frijolita. She is an 11 yr old dauchshund.

Which is why we continue bringing our fuzz-mates to Boerne Veterinary Clinic. The clinic is always clean, which can be attributed to the remarkable staff at BVC. They always greet us with a warm welcome and you can tell they truly love what they do. We're keen to know what's best for our animals, and the staff has provided us with sound advice time and again to ensure the best for our pets. It's with the utmost confidence that I can recommend Boerne Veterinary Clinic to care for your animals! Thank you BVC!

Be careful how u review this vet, as sending her cards to remind of her sloppy work she did and how her staff also got the bill wrong upsets her. She must have friends in high places to have the Law enforcement drop by, when you don't even threaten someone. I personally was a victim of aggravated assault 2 years ago, both men captured the same day. Shockingly enough no special law enforcement treatment for me. No Detective knocking on their door. They don't even show for court and it's ok. So if you need someone with friends to go out in uniform with guns to say stop sending her cards you can't do that. That's postal Abuse! But if you are robbed and assaulted it's ok! Just remember it hurts her feelings to have dead animals she did not take care of brought up. Do not take your pet to this clinic I am sure they could even screw up euthanasia.

Since they were booked, we were taken on a walk-in basis. Dr. Thomas was very kind and patient, answering all my questions. I kind of run on at the mouth, yet he was so patient. Dr. Thomas explained the potential problems, and recommended some tests. He also diagnosed an eye problem that I assumed was just allergies. It's an easy fix with some eye ointment. The vet tech was a total sweetheart. She was very engaging and also a great listener. We talked about the weather differences between the Hill Country and Minnesota. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating. They were efficient and polite. The new building is fantastic! Handicapped parking is close by and there are sufficient spots. I had no trouble smoothly rolling my oxygen machine into the building. It was easy to locate seating with a nearby power outlet for my machine. I didn't mind waiting to be seen - not in such a nice environment! The coffee bar was a welcome surprise, because I didn't have a chance to get coffee before I left our house. When we were led back to the exam room we passed a playroom they have set up for human puppies (children), which I thought was very thoughtful. I would have taken a picture, but hubs gets a little embarrassed when I do that. Trust me, it looks like a lot of fun for kids!

I understand that emergencies happen, but a simple update and an apology go a long way. Unfortunately, there was very little respect shown for clients' time, and I was left wondering what was going on. Good communication is an important part of customer service, and this office needs to do a much better job in that area. I hope they improve because no one should have to experience this repeatedly.

Updated Jan 10, 2018. Still can't necessarily speak on their veterinarian skills necessarily. But…read moretwice now we've called about Mishapp Mona after hours, twice they've answered, and twice we've gotten a next day appointment. This time Mona had a swollen foot, some kind of bite or puncture in between her toes, which had gotten infected. They didn't drain it or test it, just gave us something to wash it with, antibiotics, and an anti inflammatory. She did alright the first time so I'm not overly concerned. Fast, easy, as convenient as you can expect it to be when the vet is 20 miles away, and pretty affordable. November 2017. This review may have to be modified but for right now these guys get 5 Stars. My husband and I have two mastiff mix rescues. Our first, Mona, is my husbands baby girl. She is everything to him. One weekend we had friends come in from out of town. The day before they got here my husband noticed a little lump on Mona's neck. Didn't think too much of it until 2 days later when it had grown alarmingly large. Our friend is a big fan of Vet Ranch on YouTube and told us we should go to the Fair Oaks Veterinarian, which is their clinic. We just moved and we hadn't gotten a new veterinarian yet and didn't really want to do an expensive 24 hour vet (of course this all happens on a Saturday). Our friend sends us the info that night and we wake up on Saturday and call their office before they open. They answer. They were able and willing to give us an appointment and they were super nice about it. My husband wanted to get in earlier so when they asked and he explained our lump situation they had us the details on how to be seen ASAP. My husband went, they drained and tested the lump, gave us some antibiotics and he was home before we knew it and we were back to entertaining guests. These guys were a little out of the way for us but the fact that we called before office hours, on a holiday no less (Veterans Day), someone answered, and they were willing to squeeze us in...we owe our friend Chuck a beer for finding us a pretty cool vet. I can't speak to the actual quality of the veterinarian skills, they tested the lump and told us all they saw was red blood and lymph cells. Which they told us was normal. And that cysts like Mona's are common in bigger/giant breeds. So hopefully they're right and the antibiotics clear it up and that's the end of it. We'll for sure be back.

I guess they would also do the same for your family pets. Our situation started when a stray cat decided to have her kittens underneath our deck. The deck is so low to the ground that a person can't get under it. So we fed the momma cat and her babies when they got old enough to eat cat food. She had 5 babies that survived. However, since we live in an area that has many different animals (coyote, bobcat, fox), 2 babies disappeared quickly. We knew we had to do something as the remainder didn't have much time left on earth. My wife checked with the shelters nearby, and unfortunately, they were all full. While my wife was checking where we could take them, the momma cat disappeared. Now we were left with 3 young ones. We are dog people, so we had never thought about ever having a cat(s). But they were so cute, the wife decided we should take them in. However, we did not want any more babies, so we knew we needed to fix them. That's where Hill Country comes in. My wife called them to see if they could be seen any time soon and left a message. They got back to us the next week, discussed what we could do, and set up an appointment to fix the 2 boys first. The day of the appointment, we got to the business right on time and were able to park right in front of the building. A young lady came out quickly (they don't let anybody inside) and went over everything with us, got us to sign the paperwork, and took the boys inside. Everything went well, and we were able to pick them up late the same afternoon. The only negative about the entire situation is that you are not allowed inside. You don't know anything about how clean it is or anything else. Will we return? When the female kitten gets a little older.

Yes, we drove 2 hours to San Antonio for Justin Harper to perform the surgery, and we have no regrets. There were two surgeons we were debating between in Austin, but neither one made us feel comfortable. After emailing several veterinary hospitals in central Texas, I was told to contact Dr. Zachary Dielmann at Lincoln Heights Animal Hospital in San Antonio. We were so glad to find him because he was able to answer all of our questions. We decided to go with TPLO surgery, and Dr. Dielmann explained how they work with an exceptional mobile in-house surgeon: Dr. Justin Harper. I trust Dr. Dielmann completely and decided to go ahead with the procedure, and I am so glad I did! I have seen tons of post-op pics for TPLO, and our dog's incision is much smaller than I expected it to be. He also used a lot of sutures, which helped the incision heal well. Our dog is doing wonderful, and it has only been two weeks. Some say it takes a dog a few weeks to put weight on the leg, but ours was putting weight on it immediately. This could be because Dr. Harper offers Nocita- an injectable pain medication that last 72 hours and truly helps with the post op recovery. I'm not sure. All I know is that my pup is acting like he is 100% better at two weeks post-op. I did not expect that at all and am so thankful Dr. Dielmann connected us with Dr. Harper.

The first went fine…read morewith some minor complication where the wound didn't heal due to the surgical hardware but the second surgery performed by Dr. Franklin has resulted in significant surgical complications. After the surgery when I took her from the veterinary tech and began lifting in her car, I saw that blood was streaming down her leg and the wound was wide open and no longer sutured. Days later I was told that Soleil's skin, tissue, and bone were quickly necrotizing. My dog is now in her fourth month of recovering from the surgery, and still faces the threat of possible leg amputation. Instead of directly treating the surgical complications, Dr. Franklin delegated this work to my regular vet, who did not have direct experience in this area. Not once has Dr. Harper or Dr. Franklin reached out to me to explain what happened or to go over with me possible options for my dog's future until today after I filed an online negative review of TSVS. He didn't bother contacting me even after I asked my regular vet to speak with him months ago. Dr. Harper's cold response today was that I signed a form acknowledging that the surgery had risks. Yes, like with any veterinary procedure, an owner acknowledges risks, but at the same time, I never authorized what appears to me to be veterinary malpractice. To this day TSVS cannot explain to me what happened to her and how her health suddenly deteriorated so quickly. My regular vet at Acorn Hill stated that this negative outcome is "unprecedented," but still I have no explanation of how this happened. I now know Dr. Harper's background is actually that of an equine veterinarian, and in my opinion he should not be performing surgery on smaller animals. I don't believe either surgeon is board-certified to perform surgeries on dogs. This has been by far the worst veterinary experience I've ever had. Please stay away!
