It started when I took my 1 1/2-year-old Genesis to the Sarasota dealership for routine maintenance. While I was there, someone from At Home Auto Glass inspected my vehicle and told me I had nine chips in my windshield and should have it replaced. In hindsight, I wish I had never agreed to the replacement. What followed was FOUR windshield installations between March and August. The first three windshields were either installed incorrectly or were not the correct fit for my vehicle. Ultimately, the fourth and final windshield had to be a manufacturer windshield obtained directly from the dealership because the windshields used for the first three installations were not acceptable. There was also tar/adhesive and grease left on the headliner of my nearly new vehicle. I was told they would have my car professionally detailed to address the damage and mess, but despite being told I would receive a call to arrange it, that still has not happened. The fourth and final windshield installation in August was by far my best experience, and I appreciate the technician who finally got the windshield installed properly. Unfortunately, even after four windshields and nearly five months, there is still a section of the headliner that was not properly tucked into the glass, as well as tar/adhesive remaining on the headliner. Replacing a windshield should not turn into months of repeat installations, damage to the interior of your vehicle, broken components, and promises that aren't followed through on. Based on my experience, I would not use At Home Auto Glass again. I would also strongly recommend getting a second opinion before replacing a windshield--especially on a newer vehicle--unless replacement is truly necessary.

Read the reviews of Sarasota Auto Glass and liked what I read so I gave them a call. They took me the next day after the call and fixed the mirror in less than 30 minutes at a great price! Matt was easy to talk to and quite proficient and informative, as he told me the mirror had been repaired in the past. The mirror is back on the windshield and looks as good as new. I highly recommend them as they do professional work.

YOU WANT TO READ THIS…read more I edited my review after learning that we could request an OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer glass, otherwise they wouldn't bother to offer it. Mine was installed today, the brand name is Fuyao. I wish I could get original Toyota one. I even mentioned to them that I almost installed at Toyota dealership. Had my windshield damaged by a rock on the highway and replacement was handled through my insurance. The reservation process couldn't have been easier--everything was set up in minutes without me having to do much at all. When I arrived, check-in was fast and smooth. The staff was ready for me, and they got started on the repair right away. The whole process was quicker than I expected, and the quality of work looks great. Please note that I choose morning appointment. And it gets busier around 9 am. The waiting area was clean, comfortable, and had just what I needed to pass the time--nothing fancy, but definitely decent. They have a couple tables, where I can do my work while waiting. They also provide coffee. I anticipate about 3hrs (that's what they told me) since they need to recalibrate the windshield as well BUT it's ended up quicker than expected. Overall, a smooth and efficient experience from start to finish. Since I am covered by my insurance, I can only guess that they have a reasonable pricing. Would recommend!

Zero stars would be more appropriate…read more I made a claim through USAA for a minor windshield ding in the driver's field of view while I was out of town for one week for a funeral. This should have been a simple repair. The Safelite technician came out, left, and Safelite charged USAA $90. I then discovered that the damage had not actually been repaired. The spot was still visibly there, the exterior surface was still rough to the touch, and there appeared to be no resin applied to the ding. What followed was multiple phone calls, hours of wasted time, and a second 12-5 p.m. appointment window that required me to rearrange an entire day during an already difficult family trip. Then Safelite attempted to send someone who couldn't even perform the repair--only a windshield replacement. So after waiting around again, their solution was apparently for me to schedule a THIRD appointment for one minor windshield ding and sacrifice yet another half-day. The alternative they offered was for me to drive more than an hour (each way) to their shop. This is an astonishing level of incompetence for what should have been one of the simplest services Safelite performs. One tiny windshield ding: two appointments, hours of phone calls, a $90 insurance charge for a repair that wasn't completed, and they still couldn't manage to send someone capable of fixing it. I would avoid this Safelite like the plague. I'm giving up on this location and will have the repair done when I return home, where my previous experiences with Safelite have thankfully been far more professional and competent.
