First read about Jojo Clapson 2 years ago in Allure magazine, as they'd named her best hair cut in the city - well that was it, I had to go. I fell in love. She's amazing - she spent twenty minutes just playing with my hair and talking with me about it for even discussing what we'd do with it, and even then she was able to gauge my comfort level but push just enough for me to try something new. I left never having felt sexier and more beautiful, and I never knew I had such great hair! I also remember feeling like she didn't push me to buy any of the salon's products (they carry bumble and bumble) which was a nice change from previous salons. I saw Jojo for the rest of the year that I moved to Philly - she does complimentary bang trims, but she is VERY busy so make appointments as far in advance as possible. The receptionists and hair washers (can't be the correct term!) are also so cool and friendly. I always felt like I was stepping into a newyork city salon in Philly. When I actually DID move to newyork, Jojo recomended a previous colleague (at Cutler) who I now see most of the time - but sometimes I still need a HeadAreA fix!

She also insisted to cut it with a middle part even though I told her I never part my hair in the middle. When I tried to style it myself there were only two layers in my hair and it was a four inch difference. It looked awful. I called and told them I was unhappy and I went for an appointment with someone new. It came out even worse. I have attached a picture of when it's straight to show how awful it is. My hair is super long and thick, and the way she did the blowout was by leaving some portions undone. Having said that, the blow out did not even last an hour.
