We even measured the take off length by our fingers. We both agreed. She grabbed a handful of hair on the right side of my face & chopped it off ABOVE my earlobe! I stopped her right then but the damage was already done. I asked her why she did that & she said that wasn't too much & it would look beautiful when she finished. I said no! Just go ahead & make the back even. I told her to not touch the top that I would have to find someone that could try to blend or feather the rest of my hair. I was totally shocked by what she did. She said I didn't have to pay & she was glad that I was nice to her. I did get someone to help me & she did the best she could. I now need a wig. I wish I could report her.

I simply wanted an ash blonde highlight and she sent me home with this yellow hair. She told me to come back after a week to fix it for free. My hair was a virgin hair after I shaved it all off 2yrs ago. It was just yesterday and it look like it already outgrew and she said she doesn't want to fix the roots. She made me pay $140.00. When I went back for her to fix it, she made me pay again. She played with my hair but nothing I can do since all the old Filipinas ganged me up. I could have called the police or my lawyer but I did not. In my mind I just forgave her and lift her up to God/Allah. Just a bad recommendation to people planning to go here. She got bad attitude and says she knows everyone putting her higher than anyone else

The ladies of Anchorage always go above and beyond to make sure that you not only have a clean cut every time, but the experience is just as quality. This isn't a nation chain where the people working rotate on a constant basis. If you want to find a quality barbershop where you can always come out happy, check out Anchorage.

That's not so much on trend I know. Hardly anyone uses a razor anymore. She just point cut it and the layers are pretty heavy. They're not blended in very much at all. It needed at least texturizing shears if a razor wasn't in her skill set. It was cute when I left but once I got home and styled as normal my straightener revealed the blending issues. But it was cheap so no biggie. I can curl it or wear it up for awhile. Cute salon though if you're looking for something simple. EDIT: The manager reached out to me and offered me a recut. It looks so much better now! I should have just given them a call in the first place but I felt like since a week had gone by I had missed the window for a redo. No picture for the after unfortunately since I got caught in a massive downpour immediately after. But definitely so much better!

I am usually not too shy about cutting my hair to get rid of the unhealthy ends and she was not afraid to cut. I got a really nice cut where she thinned out the ends (it is pouffier and flairs out) as the top flattens from the weight, so my hair didn't look like the Liberty bell anymore. It also made it much easier to style. Thank you! Will be back.

Right when I walked in I could tell it was a very friendly and relaxed environment. Jo Ann was cutting someone's hair and there was one other gentleman waiting. Everyone was smiling and enjoying themselves. Even with one in the chair and another waiting I was still only waiting for about 15 minutes before it was my turn. Once I got in the chair I tried to convey what I was looking for (probably pretty vaguely) and Jo Ann read my mind and not my lips. She did a great job, she then did my neck line with a straight razor and ended it with a short scalp/neck massage. I was very satisfied with my new cut and really enjoyed the friendly vibe that is present in this place and will definitely recommend it to many!

For my medium length hair, I was outta there 2 hours later. I wanted to go purple but I will hold off on that idea... Something worth noting, and it is important... everyone in this particular salon rents their booth space so there is no receptionist. The stylists are their own boss, their own scheduler, their own shampooer, their own sweeper, their own cashier, their own everything, etc. Now, with that said, and I'm only speaking on behalf of Kristin, she does not confirm appointments. She will make them with you but does not confirm. I've gone to her for 13 years and not once have I ever received a confirmation call from her, here at this salon nor at when I met her at the now defunct Bubbles. Trust me when I say Kristin will be there when you make your appointment whether it be 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month in advance. The only time she contacts you is if she has to move you or reschedule for rare occasions. She is very accommodating and real with you. If she can or can't do something, she will say so, and I love that about her.

She was late getting to me and told me she had a hectic morning and that should have been my cue to reschedule! I wonder why she even bothered to come to work that morning folks?! The work was shoddy and she complained about my roots. Unprofessional. I told her to cut an inch and she took off more. I wanted a Dorothy Hamill and all I got was a chop job! I paid $90.00 and gave her a tip because she made it look decent by blow drying it but when I did my own hair and got a good look at it I could see all the mistakes! I complained and she asked me to come in so she could fix it? Aaahhh No thank you! I told her she would never come near my head again! I have made an appointment two months from now with a Master stylist and it's going to be very expensive but at least I know I will get a very professional cut. If you ever go to Avanti you will want to stay away from Linda. I'm very angry and upset! My hair was beautiful I just needed it shorter. I won't return to this place and I will never recommend it to anyone!
