Popped in to KingCuts for a head shave and beard line up. I made appointment online. I arrived a little early. The vibe was cool. I was greeted by staff. I was informed my stylist was enroute there. Once he arrived things went fairly well. The head shave with hot towel was good. I just wanted my beard lined back but I recieved more of a trim. The over all experience was good. The shop was fine. Been searching for a barbershop to take my son to. The chain spots around my area are not good at all. I checked out this location after going thru some reviews on Yelp and found my go to spot. I made an appt online so that was convenient. When we got there my son was immediately seated to start his cut. We had an appt with Kim and she was excellent!! Super friendly and she cut his hair really good. I was able to show her some pictures being that it was his first appt and told her what he typically gets. Just left a last min appointment with Sarah for my 10yr old son, she did great work trim and taper fade with clean line up. This was after attempting another spot down the road that has posted open hours for 9am but was still closed at 10:30am. (?) Scheduled the appointment online, short wait but is to be expected and greeted warmly by Yolanda. Very simple but clean space, had sanitizer and masks worn. Went inside, sat down before this other man came in and got his haircut before we walked in. The lady said he called before hand, but we called beforehand and nobody answered the phone. In a walk in business type of environment. It should be whoever got in first. Not who presumably "called in" first. Plus the lady knew we walked inside as she was in the back. Been trying to find a new barber for my boyfriend. Scheduled a 4:30 appt online for a meeting and a King Cut. We arrived at the General Booth location. Was told we have to go to the other location. No problem. Went to the other location and the barber checked my boyfriend in at the car. However, we were told I must've only scheduled for a meeting because they didn't have him down for a haircut. Even after I explained the confirmation I received had the meeting and haircut. I swear I selected those two services. My boyfriend went in and came out saying, "That was the worst haircut I've ever had." The product in his hair was an odd smell. The cut was choppy. He didn't get any of the lines he was hoping for because he was told by the barber that he can't do the lines. Reason unknown. It was our first time at King Cuts, but I think we may keep looking elsewhere. I appreciate them honoring the online bookings. read more

Ok, long story short. Look no further this is the best place in Virginia Beach. Mrs.Bre did an amazing job on my son hair cut. Roy is very professional and patience over the phone, and he can cut hair. It was another guy cutting hair, I cant think of his name. He can cut hair very well. Oh, and he's hilarious, wait the whole shop was! The staff is very professional which is a must for me. The shop is family oriented which is hard to find! I didn't have to hear loud inappropriate music or see it on the television. If you haven't been here and doing your research like I had to, it's ok that's smart. I don't play when it comes to my children. I am their voice, all parents should , yes even over a hair cut . If you choice this shop it will become your last stop. King Cuts is the the best Barber shop in VA Beach. My boy Vell is great at getting your hair right before any event or life experience that you may have. He also is the owner and has a couple mother barbers in his shop that can cut very good as well. It's nice because most barbers here go by appointments but they also do walk in as well. Honestly just called the about an hour ago , spoke with one of the owners mangers idk , told me they can cut hair cool I show up 15 mins , after that I show up they told me they take walkins, waited 20mins . Just to sit down and be told they can't cut beards ... but they can cut hair , they took my temperature and everything ... I honestly don't see a reason , one of the barbers wasn't wearing a mask so it can't be that reason . Literally terrible management and customer service .... TRASH. Ross Miller was my barber and he did a excellent job cutting my hair, I always have trouble finding someone to take time and do it right but with Ross there was no issues.
