Go see Matt incredible barber!! He's mastered all haircuts and shaving. He does not miss! Funniest guy I've ver met

I'm writing to share feedback reguarding a recent appointmenmt I had at Western Branch location with George. I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment; however, George was outside smoking and another barber had to retrieve him. While that was not an ideal start , my primary concern was hygiene. Durining the service, his hands had a STRONG SMELL of CIGARETTE SMOKE, and that lingered with me for the rest of the day. Given the close personal nature of barber service, this was UNPLEASANT an UNPROFESSIONAL. I wanted to bring this to you attention, as I assume this does mnot reflect the standaards you aim to uphold. I have been to the Greinbrier location 2 times before with no Issue. Bill read more

worst hair cut I've ever gotten. been going here for a year now, and had pretty good haircuts up until now. I'm not writing this to bring shame on the other barbers. Refused to give me what I wanted (mid skin fade) because its "too difficult" so I settled for a low skin fade due to me having lack of options and needed a hair cut today. the result of over an hour hair cut was an uneven fade , literal Bald spot (explains why she never showed me the back of my head). worst part about it is either she was lying or genuinely thought it was the best haircut ever (" it looks really good I must say"). wasted $30 just to have to eventually go to a different barber to get it fixed. This is the type of standards Id expect from a great clips barber. read more

Vintage Barber - Barbers Near Me - Chesapeake, Virginia

It was nice to find a great old style barber shop. I went to the Churchland store and had little wait time. Christina took the time to listen on how I wanted my beard cleaned up/ sculpted for a corporate headset pic I needed. She did a great job in transforming the runaway beard to a good looking beard. Great experience. I have found my go to barbershop going forward. read more

A proper barbershop with a rustic and authentic feel inside. Christina gave me a haircut and beard trim and I was a fantastic experience. They can fit in walk ins as long as they don't have a scheduled appointment that will interfere. read more

They did amazing 2 weeks ago cutting my hair and my sons would recommend for all ages.

Amazing service and such a great fade would recommend. The whole vibe of the place really sets you at ease. read more

Terrific experience... yes the haircut and beard trim ... but the vibe and the conversations and Courtney!

Haircut was fine. Can't remember the name of who I had, girl in the middle chair, but she was clearly intoxicated; slurring her words and super slow to respond and I could see the dilation in her pupils. She was also pretty aggressive pulling on my hair and it seemed like she was even using me for balance a couple times. I shouldn't have to be stressed out at the barber shop because my hair is being cut by someone who's under the influence using cutting tools. read more

Great cut and loved the small atmosphere. Location is cash only so they do provide an ATM inside just in case someone forgets after checking the website. read more

Okay, as a military dude coming from San Diego, let me say my first haircut, first impressions, and overall review. I had Courtney, who just so happened to he the one who greeted me for our appointment today. Once we broke the ice o dint think we stopped laughing and conversing. Which from an old-school soul like me? I don't want a go in, get cut, and leave. I want a barber who learns about their clients and can BS and shit talk, and nobody here disappoints. As far as the haircut goes, it's what I've been getting since I joined the military 13 years ago. No complaints on fade, shave, and blend. Overall impression. Might be my new go-to barber shop, but I would like to explore all the barbers within vintage seem to be as legit as it gets. For new people/customers be aware it's a cash establishment and they have a massive array of product as well for your styling needs. Will go back. Fir sure. read more

I've had three haircuts from three different barbers and all were good. I particularly appreciate there online reservation system. The staff are always friendly and the location is super convenient read more

So, my regular barber moved and i had been looking for a barber to take her place. Well Pat at Vintage Barber is amazing. My hair is blonde and real fine which makes it hard to blend because it can show even the slightest imperfections but Pat has had no problem cutting my hair with such confidence and ease. Always a great relaxing feel to the visit. I fully recommend you visit Vintage Barber and enjoy an amazing haircut and experience. read more

Don't waste your time, they have no problem wasting yours. Book and appointment and turn you away when you get there. If the barber wanted a lunch break maybe work that into your books, not at the expense of your customers. read more

I'll start by saying I've cut my own hair for years and believed a haircut to be a waste of money because I just shave it anyways. My wife asked me to get a cut for the holidays and pictures. All I can say is Beverly at the vintage barber did an amazing job. I trusted her expertise to switch some things up beyond the usual two all the way around and I'm happy I did. The things she recommended turned out amazing and it's pretty clear she is passionate about what she does, along with the talent to back it up. I went from cutting my own hair to being a regular customer. Thank you Beverly! read more

This place is one of the best barber shops in Chesapeake. I just had my hair cut by Beverly and was very pleased with her attention to detail; she really took the time to get my haircut right and made sure that I was happy every step of the way. I highly recommend this barber shop! read more

My bf heard about this place through a friend. His beard was getting a little (a lot) grizzly looking, so we decided to check it out. He has a really full beard, and other barbers have been hesitant to cut it, but Andrea was confident, and made sure he (and I) both liked how it looked as she cut it. She was very friendly, funny, and made us feel so comfortable. The whole place has a very rustic, definitely vintage look, and their service really speaks through as well. My bf got an edge up and a beard trim, and Andrea did the works: trimmed his beard, did a little fade, straight razor to clean his edges up, hot towel, she even styled his beard with beard oil and pomade at the end! They don't skip any steps here, which we both loved! Excellent service & can't wait to come back! read more

Been several times. Had cuts from several of their different stylists and barbers. Had the pleasure of George's expertise this time and was not disappointed. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to haircuts and see it mostly as utilitarian. When George asked what we were doing I only told him that I wanted it real tight on the sides and to just make the rest of it look stylish. He knocked it out of the park. I look like one of them thair movie stars. It did not take him very long to accomplish the stunning transformation either. Nice job George! read more

I'm a retired Navy Chief. Have been getting my hair cut by May here for a couple of years now. She always does a great job. Very attentive to detail such as evening up my sideburns and minimizing my natural cowlick. I don't have a beard, but I wish I did after watching her trim and shape beards for other customers. Be sure to make an appointment as she is always in demand! read more

I've been here a few times and had some great cuts. There is a caveat however. Call first! Make an appointment or you're going to wait. Why, because they're that busy. The staff is super friendly and everyone know's what they're doing. Also you can have a drink while you wait. Easy 5 five stars. read more

Love this place and the people ! I got a drastic (for me) haircut and Lindsey was so great! She cut both mine and my husband's hair and we love it! We will keep coming back to get our haircuts by Lindsey and Vintage Barber Company! read more

This place is frustrating. I've lost count as to how many barbers have cut my son's hair. The high turnover at this place speaks volumes. The good barbers never last long at this place. Save yourself the hassle and head over to Heritage. I stumbled upon it recently and found out Ashley R. works there. She's the best barber in town. read more

I usually get super apprehensive for haircuts (which is why when I come in it's so overgrown). But today I decided to google barber shops and booked an appointment with Pat. She was so cool and I felt at ease. She also did an amazing job. This shop is also so aesthetically pleasing and I picked up some new pomade on the way out. Thanks y'all. read more

I'd like to start this saying I've been here multiple times over the years and it's been great every time. I called to get my hair cut during lunch and I guess we had a bad connection at first, so she hung up. Then I called back and they were pissed, saying they thought it was a prank call, and all this other stuff. Then said well what do you want? To make an appt? I replied ma'am why else would I be calling, of course I need to make an appt, and I don't need you being rude about something that wasn't my fault. Anyways got it made. Then her boss or someone calls back, adding in all these details about what I said. She goes, let me tell you something we take our customer service seriously and you saying that we don't is insulting. When all I said is that she was being rude over a misunderstanding. When I tried to say that she got all loud saying LET ME FINISH. So now let me actually comment on the customer service here. It's horrible, There is no professionalism, no understanding, nothing. They are rude and disrespectful. I gave 2 stars due to my previous good experiences but whoever was staffing the morning of 4/12/23 should probably consider getting a career where they don't have to interact with customers, because it was the most ridiculous interaction I've had with any establishment read more

Sarita, was awesome today. She always has a warm pleasant smile and friendly welcome. My son enjoyed talking to her and as usual our cuts were great. Plan on seeing her soon. read more

It's a decent haircut, if and only if you get one of the few male barbers. I should say I've only had a haircut from the young female barber and I'm underwhelmed. An awkward silence with 0 attempts at professionalism or even just basic polite conversation. I gave her $25 for a $24 haircut and I'm regretting my $1 tip. She didn't have the time to do a 2 minute beard trim apparently. I won't be going back. read more

This place has quickly become my favorite place to get a haircut. They all do a great job! They also keep the environment fun and inviting! They even do Asian hair well! read more

Vintage Barber - Barbers Near Me - Chesapeake, Virginia

Kathy has cut my husband's hair for over 10 years, has always done a phenomenal job, and is always professional. From what I've seen, Kathy's staff of barbers does an equally amazing job taking care of other clients, all talented in their own right. The shop itself has a really cool vibe, is inviting and not stuffy, and each station has it's own unique personality. I also like that they carry products specifically made for men so that my husband doesn't try using my stuff! His favorite is the Prospectors Coal Mine hair pomade. read more

Probably the best haircut I have ever received and my standard is your everyday military haircut I was in town for a wedding that day and I needed a good cut cause any possible single bridesmaid. This spot was close to my hotel and the reviews drew me in. Thank god for the bank across the road because I had no idea they were cash only. I almost went for a shave but read they were a weekday thing and appt only. But fo'reals ... medium fade- no skin, with a light trim on top was all I had to say and she hooked it up. I swear I didn't need a haircut for about a month afterward and that is rare with these other barbers I visit. I wish I had one of these shops in my area or atleast close by read more

Old review: Found via Yelp---based on the reviews had to check it out. My son and I both needed a cut. Joni was amazing with my son. She cut me up after. Both cuts turned out perfect. I'm originally from L.A., and have had excellent cuts that set the baseline for me. This place blows it out of the water. 5/17/18 update: Kathy, the owner, is a top master barber. When you can get her, do it! Had my son and I's haircut by Kathy, turned out great! Great listeners, exceptional stylists, good humor, music playlist is chill, and a razor neck and side burn finish! If you're willing to wait, or call ahead, (they now have online appts), this barbershop will not disappoint. I give it a perfect score, first I've ever given on Yelp! ****Cash only business, so don't forget to bring your paper**** read more

The service here wasn't very great. The stylist didn't bother to start any kind of conversation or even smile when she greeted me. Overall, I was pleased with the end product of my haircut, but my sideburns were uneven, which was very visible when I put my glasses on. read more

The name says it all "Vintage". When you walk in take a look at the decor. Kathy (owner and master barber) has done a great job with the small space that she has here. You'll only find 3 barber chairs which is occupied by Andrea (specializes in straight razor shaves) and Kathy who are the permanent residents here. The third chair is often used by Patty or Sunny depending on which day/time you are there. You'll find two wooden benches for customers to sit on, and possibly a padded chair to sit in, which is actually the chair for shampoos when needed. Due to this being vintage its cash only. You pay the ladies directly and all the ladies don't have cell phones compatible for using Square so it makes it easier to have the "Cash Only" policy. They can do a wide variety of beard styles for those who prefer having a well maintained beard that looks sharp. From my experience here, you can honestly walk in with a picture on your phone and say "I'd like this style", and the ladies can pull it off for you. Expect to pay $18 for military cuts, $27 for straight razor shaves, $20 for flat tops, and so forth. That should give you a ball park figure of the price range here. Would I be back? Yes Should I make an appointment? Yes, if you want a shave read more

Vintage Barber - Middle Chair is Kathy (Owner and Master Barber) - Barbers Near Me - Chesapeake, Virginia

Like another reviewer had mentioned in August, this is really the only haircut I've been truly embarrassed by. I went in on Tuesday this week around lunch and was accommodated as a walk in (I took the chair closest to the bathroom). The lady was very nice and I described what I would like. What resulted as a "taper on the bottom" ended up being a zero almost halfway up on the backside. Also, she tailored in about 3/4 inch from my natural hairline, something I've never had done nor asked for. She then took the 2.5 I asked for so high up and did not blend it so that I pretty much have a distinct unnatural part on both sides of my head (it looks absolutely terrible). The final kicker is the use of the straight edge at the end. She first started with NO shaving cream around my temple, resulting in four little nicks that are still there as scabs as of this morning. Working her way around, I still have several red scrapes that are visible to the point that not only my wife notices them, but also nice lady at work who asked where I got my hair cut. My neck was throbbing for the rest of the day. I will never go back to this place nor recommend it. It was the worst and most painful barbery experience I have ever had. I'm sorry, but this business needs to know about the product it delivered. read more

Best barber shop I been to. I use to be quiet when I was getting my haircut but now I'm ready to talk to my barber

May has cut my hair twice now and shes by far my favorite barber ever. She obviously takes great pride in her profession and it shows.

Wow what an awesome haircut! I have had Cheryl, Benita, May, and another barber who I can't remember. They all did an excellent job! I am one of those guys that never really know what he wants when getting a haircut, be these barbers helped me figure it out! The straight razor at the end is a nice touch. If you're looking for a great haircut for men who don't want to go to a chain cuttery, look no further! Be aware it is Cash only, which is the only draw back. read more

One of the most rushed and sloppiest haircuts I've ever gotten. I needed a haircut before a funeral and don't live in the area so decided to give this place a shot. My barber at the Greenbrier location, an African American woman, seemed like she wanted to get me out the door as quickly as possible. I don't mind a quick haircut as long as the barber shows some care and knows what they're doing. When I got in the car and looked in the mirror, I realized she had missed a big patch on my sideburn with her clippers. I went back inside and she fixed it, but that never would have happened if she hadn't been so rushed. I just checked out the back of the cut a week later and I'm only now realizing how uneven of a job she did. Take your money elsewhere. read more

My husband has been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The first was for a simple haircut, which didn't take too long itself. But at the time we were there, the shop was crowded and we ended up waiting a while. Luckily there was still a place for us to sit while we waited, but the shop is quite small. Everyone there was friendly and took their time with each of their customers. The second time, he went in for a shave. He loved his experience there and the treatment you get for a shave. He would love to visit again for another one. read more

I had tried different locations for a haircut and wasn't happy with my past two haircuts. I looked up Barber Shops on Yelp and this one had good reviews. I booked the appointment online, which is pretty convenient for the customers. Amanda took my inputs for my desired haircut and did an amazing job with my hair. She spent a good amount of time on my haircut and was open to suggestions during the cut as well, which was great. The cut is clean, detailed and easy to style. The prices for services are reasonable as well. I was looking for a permanent place to go for my haircuts and glad I found it. Thanks! read more

Excellent barber shop !!!! It's a small place and they are very popular, recommend an appointment, or if walk in try off hours early during weekdays, either way plan for a wait. Normally am not patient with waits and appointments for a barber shop but can see why so popular and it's very worth the effort / time commitment. Best haircuts have had in a long while, actually was relaxing. Great value for price given skill level, not a buzz and go place, they take time and care. Only issue make sure have cash, no credit :( but there is ATM across the parking lot. read more
