I was happy to find Speedway Clock Repair not too far from my house and when I called, Mark was able to confirm that he and his daughter did work on the type of clock I had. I dropped it off on August 12, 2019, and was given an estimate of 12-16 months until it would be done (gulp!). Yes, this is pretty standard for clock repair. There are so few people still doing it, and it is time consuming work (no pun intended!). I felt better seeing all the really amazing clocks in the shop, and Mark pointed out a few that were over 100 years old. He and his daughter repair grandfather clocks, wall clocks like mine, amazing intricate cuckoo clocks and mantle clocks. I picked up my finished clock on October 2, 2020 and Mark took the time to make sure I knew how to maintain it and helped me pack it safely into my car to take it home. They test all clocks for quite some time before sending them home which is much appreciated. They have a side building just for hanging almost finished clocks to make sure they're keeping good time and running smoothly, and I could then see that my clock was indeed running and chiming again! There is easy parking in an adjacent lot. The cost of the service was incredibly reasonable ($125 for cleaning and lubricating plus all the time testing and adjusting).

He did, but not to his satisfaction...but to mine. Lastly I asked if he could resize my wedding ring. It's a "story ring" that has several pictures around it. After several measurements and examination he explained what could be done and how it would effect the ring. I elected not to have that done. The price for all this work? No charge! Obviously I can't say enough about the customer service. I highly recommend this local shop!

I talked to the jeweler it came from 20 plus years ago and they said it couldn't be resized because of the style. So it sat longer in the drawer. I recently found out about ring globes. Tiny little pieces of gold attached to the inside of the ring. I saw Robert Goodman was a sponsor of Zionsville Pride and sent them a Facebook message. They did do the ring globes. I took my ring in and talked to Bob he called his jeweler and described my ring on the phone. The jeweler decided the small strips inside my ring would work better then globes. It took a couple weeks to get the work done. I picked it up a few days ago. The little gold strips / bars work perfectly. It is loose enough to take off and on and tight enough that I'm not going to just loose it off my finger. Service was excellent. Bob is very personable. The shop is located at the end of Main Street where parking isn't quite as bad as other areas. I totally recommend going to Robert Goodmans of your jewelry needs and repairs.

I had every reason to not stop in Kirles Jewelers. I'd had an early morning running some errands…read morerelated to my father's estate - I was tired, I was super casually dressed, and I was honestly pretty dirty. I'd always been kind of curious about Kirles, but I'd never really had the chance to stop in. Since I was in this strip center for a couple other businesses, I opted to wheel by Kirles. Then, I started to wheel away. Then, Shirley came to the door and asked if I wanted to come in. I hesitated, but she assured me she didn't care how I was dressed. For those of you who've heard my story about wheeling through Saks Fifth Avenue prepared to spend quite a bit only to be completely ignored because of how I was dressed, you'll know that this really piqued my interest. So, I went in. Now then, have you ever gone to a business and instantly thought to yourself "I really like this place?" That's what happened here. I really liked this place. First off, Shirley is a delight. She's warm and welcoming. She's helpful without being high pressure. I'm not sure I had any intent to buy anything to do, though I very nearly did so (amazing candles). I was drawn to the fact that there are a number of photos around the store related to racing and a corner exhibit related to the Vukovich family. Of course, I asked. Kirles is in its third generation in the same family - the current owner's father is passionate about the Indy 500 and some of the photos are his and others are simply photos he acquired. It's an amazing touch with great photos. I met that current owner. She enthusiastically introduced herself and told the story of her father. I shared my own 500 story - when I was eight, I wasn't expected to live long and got a "wish" - not so much in the contemporary meaning as that organization didn't exist yet, but in the same concept. My wish involved meeting Mario Andretti - and I did. I still consider it a life highlight (though I always wonder if I should feel guilty because I actually survived). Anyway, Kirles offers jewelry, watches, candles, jewelry repair, custom jewelry design, Waterford crystal, appraisals, watch repair, and a variety of other items. It's a really cool, really welcoming, and pretty awesome store that has been in its current location for 45 years and has existed since 1951. And yes, it's locally owned and there's still only one location (which I actually find kind of refreshing). Kirles is wonderfully accessible (though I'll admit I was being super careful in my wheelchair). They even have an accessibility statement on their website. What can I say? I instantly fell in love with the place. The people were so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere feels like a place where you can "belong." Amidst the finer nature of the jewelry and such, there's a tremendous heart both in the types of items and in those delightful photos. While I didn't buy anything this time, I'd be stunned if I don't return to get a candle and maybe even more. While I'm not much for jewelry, this was just such a cool place that I saw several things where I thought "Hm. Maybe." So yeah, I can't say enough about getting that sense of welcome even on a day when I was super tired and looking rather ratty. Bravo, Kirles. I'll be back.

I have also come here to have a ring resized, and they did an amazing job with the ring. This is a family owned business that has been around for many years, and they definitely know their stuff when it comes to jewelry. The prices are reasonable, and they give you a year warranty on your jewelry in case something happens and you need something fixed again. They are very secure and cautious as well with the store because the front door is locked at all times and someone has to let you into the store, which shows they take their items very seriously. I am impressed with the service and value of the jewelry at Kirles Jewelers, and highly recommend people come here for jewelry repairs or jewelry because it is worth the experience.
