Pool was supposed to be 12 x 28. Yet they made mistake and it was 12 x 24. Rich Casa, Owner, refused to compensate for the Company error. He is a big bully. We had pool built as our house was being built and we lived out of state. Avoid this company. read more

A PAINFUL EXPERIENCE When we first met with Rich and Trena Casa to discuss our possible pool build, we brought our property survey, and a specific design idea. We knew our yard was a bit of a challenge to build a pool in, as our house is set back, leaving only a little room to build on. We told them about our ten foot easement, and after looking at the information we brought with us, Rich informed us that there's no way we have an easement that big, as it was not on the survey. He told us with certainty that we could build the pool we wanted. We figured he was the pool builder, he must know more than we do, and we set about picking options, discussing design and going to contract. While our pool was in the permitting process, the zoning portion kicked it back, because we have a ten foot easement! We discussed getting a variance so we could build what we wanted, and we asked for guidance from Custom Pools by Precision. We were given the exact opposite advice that we needed, we went to the variance pre-meeting and when we left, we thought, no way. As a team, we were not in agreement, one of us wanted to walk away because the pool design would have to change dramatically, the pool builder had already lied to us several times, creating a distrust to move forward. While the other one, wanted to move forward anyway. To make a long story short, we should have walked away and gotten our deposit back. The build with this company was so painful, the attitudes and passive aggressive texts, emails along with the horrible contractors and employees made this a nightmare. Then you add insult to injury because the pool they dug and built, was not only inside the easement we needed to avoid - THEY GAVE THE CONTRACTORS THE WRONG DRAWING! We do not have the pool we contracted for! We argued consistently with the builder to keep the pool decking out of the easement, that they kept building it in. The owner is too simple to understand that you can't build a pool inside an easement, and even if you get away with it at the build, how can you sell your home without a variance with a pool inside the easement? The lack of intelligence running this company is scary. We read the bad reviews before hiring this contract, we even asked the owners about it, and they made some excuse and said it was unfortunate. Seriously, read the reviews, and take them to heart. How many people are dissatisfied with this company and do not recommend you hire them. The reviews are real, and they're accurate. Stay away from Custom Pools with Pain! Not worth your time and money. There has to be a better pool builder out there, or even at the very least, a company who isn't rude and inconsiderate to their own clients. read more

Precision built our pool as part of new construction. We love the pool, perfect for our needs. There was however a pesky problem that my regular pool maintenance man could not understand, and we could not even tell if we were using the spa wrong or there was a bona fide issue. I want to commend Precision for standing thoroughly behind the warranty, and once they agreed there was an issue, taking care of it within 2 hours. Thank you John, who personally came over and made it right. I could not award 5 stars, because there was indeed an issue. If I could have given 4.5 stars, I would have. I just want to add my two cents: in the real world things can go wrong with construction projects. It happens. What you want are contractors who stand behind what they do and take care of you. We built with DM Dean and had the option to go with Precision or Tropical (who did not impress us). Although the pool is beautiful we have had many issues and Precision has not been responsive. We purchased the automation package and it took months for them to get it working properly. We also have had lots of major sinking pavers (our whole raised back wall had to be redone months ago and now there are many more in different areas that we need to fix). This week it's a large hole around our light which has been leaking for who knows how long. This all happened within the first 18 months. Precision basically tells you your on your own after they finish the pool. I would steer clear of this company. read more

I had a terrible time with Custom Pools by Precision Make sure you get a detailed contract! What was sold and what was delivered are not the same. I was sold a remote control to turn the spa lights on but got a switch on the wall When the pool finisher was spraying the finish on the pool they spilled a Gatorade down the side of the pool. The sugar reacted with the finish and it caused a big valley. Rich said to see if I could live it! I said no. Then they had the pool finisher come out with a SCUBA tank and grind on the pool for 2 days. Long story short, my brand new pool was refinished, I have 2 layers of finish and my returns and drains are recessed into the finish. I am not sure how many times you can finish a pool but I am sure by the time I need to really refinish the pool the drains and returns will really look bad. The blue tile around the pool is defective and is turning black. I called them and they said the manufacture would pay to have the tiles replaced. I am very concerned about having my pool hacked up again. . I had a Ecopool circulating system put in, The Sub contractor cut off the receptacles where the jet falls into the bottom of the pool causing them to not go down all the way. I called and called Custom Pools and always an excuse. Custom installed the wrong control valve for the Ecopool. Instead of replacing it with the right one they just cut off the extra pipe and capped it. I called the Manufacture and they sent a Rep to look at it, That is when I finally got them to come out and fix the problem in the floor but not the valve. I have been calling them for 3 years complaining about having to add water all the time. They always said is is "normal" Recently I noticed a lot of pavers around the skimmer were sinking in. I called Custom and they told me to have a pool leak detector company come out and check for leaks. $250.00 I finally took several pictures of the sinking pavers and finally Rich came out and looked at it. Rich told me that the pavers were sinking because I did not seal them and that my gutters were too dirty and the water was washing away the sand and shell under the pavers. I believe that the soil and shells were not compacted well enough near the pool. So if you want a nice pool with a LOT less hassles look somewhere else! read more

In 2017 we contracted with DM Dean to build our house. We only had 2 choices for a pool sub-contractor, Tropical Pools and Custom Pools by Precision. The latter is one of several pool companies under the Rich Casa Pool Conglomerate. Tropical did not impress us so we went with Precision. While we have had very positive comments about the pool's appearance, that is where it stops. The pavers keep sinking around the pool despite being on a stem wall and behind the refrigerator. This past summer (2021) the pool started leaking in several areas. In August I stopped by Precision's office to speak to Rich Casa. Since he was gone for the day I left a note with one of the office staff for him to please contact me. No response whatsoever. Despite the summer rains, the leakage got so bad I had to shut off the skimmer. It was determined by a very reputable pool repair company that there were grout issues in the skimmer, and where the water flows from the hot tub into the pool. The biggest problem was at the main drain at the bottom of the pool. After the repairs were completed during the first week of October, I took said paperwork to Precision's office in Murdock. The total cost including chemicals and refilling the pool was close to 2 Grand. I gave copies to Rich Casa and when he saw which company made the repairs the best he could do was say " Wow, they are expensive" and that "he would look into it". As of this writing, 11-23-21, I have heard nothing. I realize the pool was out of warranty, but one would think a little customer service would be in order. We have lived down here for well over 30 years and if given the choice, we would have picked one of many other well reputable pool companies to have the pool built. In no way shape or form will we ever recommend this company to anyone! read more

Once installed, you are left on your own, if you are having problems with it. Problems with the salt cell. The owner has no clue on how the system works. Had to deal with the warranty company. The warranty company made several trips out. Problem solved after a month with the help of True Blue Pools, as it was a water issue, that the others could not find. First let me say I am shocked by the other reviews posted here. We have been so very impressed by this company. Everything has been easy, seamless , and they have bent over backwards to give us a perfect installation. The design was exactly as we specified, down to the rise of the steps. They responded immediately when we asked to have a downspout moved. The staff is exceptional, responsive and polite. We enjoyed having them in our yard. installed my pool about 2 years ago. took them ALL summer. ruined my landscaping and didn't know enough to clean up their mess. also had to take down the fence to get equipment in the yard and left it open. (i have a dog that could have gotten out) Never return phone calls, and ALWAYS have an excuse handy. when a problem with the pump occurred about 1 year after install. the pump company wanted a receipt for the purchase. after many phone calls and broken promises i never did get the receipt. once you sign that contract you no longer matter to them. read more

Be careful with this company! Once the hole was dug the dirt pile was left in our yard for 6 WEEKS! After the dirt was removed they pumped ground water from the pool for 4 days straight, we had a river flowing from our backyard over the sidewalk completely covering it in sludge and sediment that I had to clean up. When I made them aware of the problem with the sidewalk and that a neighbor complained, their response was "tell her to walk the other way" and "the city won't do anything anyway". They completely destroyed our yard. Our cage was not built as quoted (Much Smaller), mosaics that were supposed to be installed were never ordered or installed. The concrete edges along the pool were never finished, they were left sharp and jagged! Oh and customer service, forget it! If they make a mistake or don't deliver as promised they'll just ignore you, or make excuses. We signed our contract May 17th and as of today August 8th the pool has not been started. We will also be filing a complaint with the division of consumer protection. Would not recommend. read more
