Overall great experience through this business. To be…read morehonest, it started off not so great. I requested a quote and was told to text Don to communicate. From there, I was given a time and address but once I arrived at the house, he didn't answer and no one was there to take my dress. After a few calls and texts, I was able to get ahold of Don but not until after I left. Fortunately, he reassured me this would get taken care of and sent me the next day to his seamstress/coworker Anna. I showed up to her place the next day and everything went smoothly after that. This review is mostly for Anna but she is AMAZING! I arrived at her place and she had a small studio in the back to let me try on my dress while she made the mock adjustments for my alterations. Communication with her was clear, reliable, and she was so sweet and accommodating because I needed my dress the next day. She was timely, professional, and really friendly. I'd send everyone to her if I could!

Extremely unprofessional experience. I had texted Don to schedule an appointment for a dress…read morealteration and was told the only time slot available was 6pm that night. I arrived to the address at 5:50 (10mins prior to my appt) and noticed the store looked closed so I texted the number, as instructed, that I had arrived. No text response for a few minutes and I got a weird feeling. Called the number only for Don to say, "let me call my alteration lady and see where she is." Then he texted me a different address to go to for the alterations, across town 10+ minutes away. He sent me this only 4 minutes before our scheduled appointment, even though we were texting earlier that day at 10am. It was dinner time, I already was inconvenienced by having to come at 6pm... Then to have him no-show and give me another address far away at the time of the appointment was extremely rude and inconsiderate. Unprofessional and should not be in business for alterations. If another woman is doing the alterations and not Don, there should be a direct line to schedule and coordinate appointments with her firsthand.

I've only been to Jane's twice, but I'm a loyal fan. Both times have been to get jacket blazer…read morelengths altered. The only woman I've ever seen there (who I have to assume is THE Jane) is soft-spoken and doesn't seem to speak much English, BUT she is very kind, prompt, and does a great job! As long as you are clear & concise with what service you need (dryclean, shorten sleeve length, taking-in/taking-out alterations, etc.) you should be good to go. I only wish I remembered to pay with cash to provide tip for her excellent work. Jane's accepts card, but there's nowhere on the receipt to add tip. I know handling cash isn't ideal during COVID times, but if you want to provide tip, I encourage paying in cash.

ORIGINAL HEM (4 stars)…read more - Affordable pricing - About 1week turn around - Quality job - Pay at pick-up Over the phone I was quoted, $15 for alteration and $18 for "hem". Location is easy to find but street parking can be challenging. Upon arrival, you sign the sign-in sheet with name and number. I brought in a $110 pair of jeans needing alteration. I haven't worn baggy clothes since the 90s. But it's "in trend" again and didn't want the bottom of my pants dragging on the floor. They have a tiny corner they made into a "dressing" area and they did the measuring for me. It needed to be shortened but to keep the original bottoms in which they called "hem". Hem was vague and I had to communicate "original bottoms/hem" in the event someone re-reads "hem" incorrectly. She then puts on the receipt $15 which is regular alteration price and I had again to verify "this is for original bottoms" and she said yes and I had to re-correct her on her own pricing to $18 so there is no miscommunication of what service I need done and what I'm paying for. She couldn't log my service into the computer because it was down so she wrote me a paper order. A week later, I lost that paper order assumed they have a copy of that because I got the pink slip which is the carbon copy of the original. She didn't. They never logged my order in whenever their computer came back on. They didn't remember me. I had to explain what was altered, tried to show them I signed the log-in sheet with my name and number (seems useless, looks like they don't even archive that), and had to describe the pair of jeans. Luckily they found it but I think that was a bit disorderly. I checked the quality and it was great. Original bottoms aka hem was achieved! Will be back for more alterations on my baggy clothes. Until the next review...
