Fast forward to a couple days prior to the move, I texted and no response. Texted again the next day to try to get confirmation they were going to show up and again no response. Texted from a different phone number pretending to get a quote and what do you know, he texts back. Thank god they actually showed up, albeit 15 minutes late. I will say they were polite and put our stuff where we told them. However, they damaged TWO of our dressers (took an entire corner off both) and didn't reimburse for either of them. Didn't give a discount, just apologized and charged the full price. Each one of the dressers cost $300.

I told Shane from the very beginning that I needed a 20' truck. He said no, a 16' would do because the ceilings are high. Not a very good practice to not listen to a paying customer. The 16' foot truck arrived and because the truck was too small I had to get rid of a bunch of my stuff and it took 2 days because of the extra time it took to load a smaller truck. I wouldn't let them pack my groceries! Our family moved from FL to VT and between my wife, my brother and myself, we packed a 28' trailer full and everything arrived with no damaged items. We hired Daniel's Moving/NEMM to pack two 28' trailers and in the end, they caused an estimated $4k-$6k worth of damages to our belongings. It's "estimated" because we've yet to receive the final invoice for some of our belongings that are being repaired. In all, the Daniel's Moving/NEMM crew showed up to our house... We told the crew that we rented two 28' trailers and even though we were renting them by the foot, that we had no problem with them using every inch of both trailers, as long as our belongings were safe. They loaded boxes with RED arrows pointing up, upside down. Boxes with 4-6 "FRAGILE" stickers on them were packed on the bottom of stacks with boxes marked "HEAVY" on top. They packed things that we asked them repeatedly NOT to pack. A box with my Mother's ashes in it, along with her fragile electronics (iPhone and MacBook) was loaded upside down and at the bottom of a heavy stack. One crew member injured himself by accepting a bet of another crew member to lift ALL of my wife's weights at the same time, the owner (Fred Allard) called me asking why one of his guys was at the ER and then said that if my wife and I didn't write out statements, that we/our insurance could be liable. After all of this, Fred Allard told us that because we didn't hire them to drive our belongings to next destination, that they are not liable. When I requested that he just file the claim with insurance, he told me that it could take up to 6 months and that it would likely be denied. After a month, I reached out for an update and was told that he had been busy with personal things and that he would file it. A week later we asked for the claim number and that's when he began ignoring us and we haven't heard from him since.

King Movers and Storage was able to accommodate my move for the requested date and explained an estimate based on information I provided to them. The team sent to perform the move did a fantastic job dismantling, protecting (blankets, tape & plastic wrap were used) and reassembling my furniture at the new home. I hired RJ Crowley for an approximately 2.5 hour move of a one-bedroom apartment in New Hampshire…read moreto a studio apartment in Massachusetts. I was told by the RJ Crowley office staffer that the two movers would arrive at 5:15-5:30ish AM. Even though they arrived at 5:45 AM, they assured us that they were still going to meet the reserved, agreed upon 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM loading dock time in Massachusetts. After they loaded the truck, we all left New Hampshire with an estimated arrival time of 9:50 AM. Before leaving, the movers told me they needed to stop for gas. My parents and I also stopped, arriving at the studio apartment at 10:10 AM. Being that the movers still hadn't arrived, I texted them at 10:35 AM, to which they texted back at 10:37 AM stating they were going to take a bathroom break and would arrive in about 30 minutes. However, they did not arrive until approximately 11:30 AM, leaving only 30 minutes to unload. To avoid inconveniencing the next residents who had reserved the dock from noon to 2:00 PM, my parents and I stepped in to help move items from the dock area. We were able to help clear the dock by 12:05 PM only for our movers to still leave their truck in the loading dock until approximately 12:30 PM, preventing the next waiting movers from using it. We even suggested they ask the apartment staff where to move their truck to free the dock before they completed moving and reassembling furniture into my unit, but they didn't move it. In the unloading process, the movers discovered that my quality, cream colored, leather recliner (part of a matching, living room set) had been completely severed in half. Even though they moved it in New Hampshire, undamaged, they still asked was it already broken- to which we answered "of course not." The movers only offered me $50 to $100 for the damage, despite it being worth considerably more. Since they had previously agreed to dispose of both my old bed frame and mattresses for an extra $100, we asked could they also dispose the broken recliner along with the bed, and they said "absolutely- we can take it with us." However, after their departure, we discovered that they'd left the recliner in the loading dock area directly beneath a sign clearly stating "Do not dispose of mattresses or furniture" and "Do not leave unapproved items behind on loading dock." I immediately emailed RJ Crowley that same Friday afternoon regarding the abandoned, broken recliner (sending them the picture of the recliner under the sign), asking them to at least arrange/pay for its proper disposal as they initially promised. One week later, I have yet to receive any response whatsoever. The complete lack of communication after the move has been just as disappointing as the move itself. I ultimately had to arrange and pay for the disposal myself. Overall, my experience included the RJ Crowley movers: - Arriving 90 minutes late to a scheduled unloading appointment. - Destroying my leather recliner. - Promising to dispose of my recliner but abandoning it at my apartment instead, leaving me responsible for the disposal and fee. - Refusing to remove truck from loading dock past our reserved unloading time. - Failing to respond to my email or address any of these issues. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. While the movers were pleasant, the service itself ultimately cost me additional time, stress, and money. I cannot recommend RJ Crowley based on my experience.
