Custom Movers is licensed by the Federal Highway Administration as a "household goods relocation broker," meaning that we may represent clients to many van lines without being employed by any van lines. This independence enables us to act in the best interests of the person in relocation rather than the van lines providing the services.

"Time Tested" Skip Higgins has been handling relocation services for clergy in religious denominations since 1982, now over 35 years: Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Unitarian, and others.
Meet the Business Owner: Skip H.
Skip Higgins is a 1966 graduate of LSU College of Business Administration with a BS Degree in Ecomonics and Marketing. He served during the VietNam War (1967 - 1969) as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Smith, Headquarters, Fleet Marine Pacific, Aiea, Hawaii. Skip was a Public Relations Vice-President at City National Bank in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 1970 to1974. He worked for, then owned, a retail business in Baton Rouge from 1975 to 1981. Entering the household goods moving industry in 1982, he became the 6th largest sales producer in the United States for North American Van Lines, for individuals in relocation, by 1985. Skip incorporated in 1993 as Eureka, Inc., d/b/a The Relocation Center. The company saw first year's sales at $400,000 grow to $4,000,000 by 1997. He formed yet another relocation brokerage in 2000, Higgins, LLC d/b/a Custom Movers, the nation's most trusted and successful household goods relocation broker.
