She came highly recommended by Morgan Childs of Moana Events, and having known Michelle personally for many years, hiring her was an easy choice. To be honest, I was skeptical about needing a videographer, but after seeing just our highlight video alone, I couldn't imagine not having had Michelle there (in fact, I wish we had her stay longer!). Capturing the words of our ceremony, the cocktail reception, our guests reactions when we entered the tent for the first time, the surprise hula I did for my husband, our first dance, and all of the other sounds and words of happiness was so important to me. But the magic really happens during the editing process, and Michelle did a superior job. She blended wonderful moments, words and music together seamlessly, creating a beautiful story of our special day. Not only was the video she produced top-notch, Michelle was on time, professional, and completely inconspicuous (most of our guests saw the video and responded by saying, first, that it brought tears to their eyes and second, that they didn't even realize that we had a videographer there!). No small feat considering all of the cameras etc. that Michelle had with her that day. She was easy to communicate with both before and after the event, and finished our video quickly. When we received our hard-copy video in the mail, it was beautifully and thoughtfully wrapped with a hand-written note from Michelle and stunning still photos she took out from the video that were framed in the leather CD case the disc was in. From beginning to end, it was such a pleasure working with her. We watch our video all the time and it is truly something that we will treasure for a lifetime. When my wife and I decided to do a destination wedding in Hawaii, we had no clue where to start. I started out researching photographers and ministers, when I contacted Aloha Ever After and spoke with Timory, I just knew this was the right company and the right people to make our wedding the best it could be. We set our wedding date for Dec.9,2018. (I know, I unintentionally procrastinated with my review.) But our experience was phenomenal and the memory stays with us every day. Timory did an incredible job helping us with information to get the marriage license, flowers, suggested accommodations in the area and even provided great options for the ceremony. after seeing Shipwrecks Beach, we chose that as the place to start our new life. We arranged to have her partner/Husband Joel perform the ceremony and Timory on photography. They were both awesome to work with, in tune with our wishes and exceptional with assisting us the whole way. The ceremony was beautiful, we did a sand ceremony as well and all of the photos were absolutely breathtaking! One of my outstanding memories during the ceremony was Timory asking us to pause briefly to look into the ocean, there was a Manta Ray lingering just off the beach, in front of our location, she said that was a rare occurance at that beach, in fact, she said she hadn't seen that in 20 years of performing weddings at that beach, the locals at the Tidepools restaurant all concurred and didn't believe it until I showed them the photo. we chalked it up as the spirit of our lost loved ones joining our special moment. that was super cool to experience. I truly can't say enough about Aloha Ever After, The prices were more than reasonable, the help with planning was priceless, the team of Timory and Joel and the overall experience is something I'll never forget. We've returned once to revisit for our anniversary and to reflect on the memories. We hope to go again someday to renew our vows and you know my first call will be to Aloha Ever After! When my husband and I began planning our wedding we thought we could do everything ourselves. Afterall, my husband grew up on Kauai and I'd been there to visit several times. We'd both visited the venue we'd selected before. What was left to do? We wanted a really simple wedding. Why would we pay someone to plan things when we could do it ourselves? Well, I found out really quickly that trying to sort everything out and get things coordinated was more difficult than we'd anticipated. After attending a friend's wedding, and after talking to the bride the next day about the stresses of getting everything done, my husband was really convinced we should hire someone to help us out. I'd seen Marlene's site and was really impressed. I just had a good feeling about it, compared to the other stuff I'd seen out there. And? She was from Waimea, my husband's home town. I gave Marlene a call and from the very beginning I knew we'd done the right thing. When we contacted Marlene we already had our venue, photographer and our officiant but we didn't have anything fully sorted out. We were having a wedding with over 100 guests in attendance.. not your typical "destination wedding." To make things worse, our venue owner was on "Hawaii time." a lot, which made planning difficult. Marlene was very professional and knew just what needed to be done. She was always very responsive to us and always had great, cost-effective suggestions. It was so nice to have her "on the ground" in Kauai. She helped us plan everything ahead of time, coordinated the rentals, suggested a ceremony/cocktail hour musician and the hair/makeup stylist, and helped us figure out our custom food and drink menus (all local cuisine and beers). Marlene worked tirelessly at setting up a very detailed budget and event plan for us beforehand so we knew exactly what was going to happen in the days leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day, minute-by-minute and exactly how much it was going to cost. All of her recommendations turned out to be spot on. And, Marlene and her staff were at the venue all day on the wedding day working with all of our vendors and setting things up. All we had to do was show up and have a great time! We could not have pulled off this wedding without Marlene and we cannot recommend her enough!

We just received our photo CD a little less than 4 weeks after our ceremony and they are just gorgeous! Kent was very hands on from the start, when I contacted him about the vow renewal while in Kauai (to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary). Our set-up was really simple - just the two of us, a minister, lei's, bouquet and the photography (I think it was the barefoot package + additional with the bouquet). We had a few check-in calls and e-mails to finalize details and then we talked the morning of the ceremony. Kent was really great to work with, easy going and attentive. Our minister (Hawaiian Spiritual) was equally great and made the ceremony extra special. Overall, things could not have gone any better - it was a day that we'll never forget. I still can't get over how amazing the photos were. Our ceremony was at Shipwrecks beach :) I think overall as long as you give all the details to Kent and tell him what you're looking for everything will be great! He has a lot of information and takes pride in what he does, and it shows. I would highly recommend Coconut Coast Weddings!

I will keep this as brief and objective as possible. I was hesitant to trust a man with my ceremony (you just always feel that a woman will be more in touch with these things) but not wanting to be sexist, I was happy to give him a shot. Throughout the summer, we had significant difficulty receiving responses from Kent, repeatedly having to follow up via phone on emails that we had placed. He was always cordial, but never apologetic. He repeatedly forgot details of the ceremony, so much that I ensured that I kept my own file on all communications to ensure that I had proof of the messages. Again...no apologies. Friendly and very true to his Hawaiian culture, but the antithesis of professionalism. Concerned about the actual conduct, we agreed to meet with him to review logistics once we were on the island. However, we never got that far. With just 12 days to the ceremony, he had the audacity to email us and 'suggest' that we change the location of the ceremony because 'he didn't realize that we were staying at the resort that we were staying and felt that it was not convenient.' Needless to say, with no confidence of his abilities to execute our wedding the way that we wanted, we let him go with only a week to replace him. You can only IMAGINE the anxiety! Shentel at Hanalei Colony Resort stepped in and, in just two days, replaced all vendors and conducted the PERFECT ceremony for my fiance' and me. She was FLAWLESS! Not once throughout this entire experience did he apologize for his ineptitude. This man relies on the reputation of a coordination business that he has only recently assumed responsibility for. He is a photographer by trade and I would highly recommend that he relinquish his coordination hat and stick to photography.

Living in the Bay Area, we did not have the time or money to make repeated trips to Hawaii while planning the wedding. We needed a coordinator who could take our ideas and turn them into reality. Jill is very well-connected to the island community in Kauai - when we needed something, she could get it. It didn't matter if we were looking for a place to eat, a projector or something completely random. Once we selected our vendors, Jill acted as our single point of contact, greatly simplifying the planning process. Jill is also extremely accessible, both by e-mail and telephone. She maintains a spreadsheet with a breakdown of the ceremony and reception details, including price, so it is easy for couples to figure out what tasks remain unfinished (or unaffordable). I don't think any wedding is stress-free, but Wedding in Paradise made our wedding as low-stress as possible.

We were on a tight budget and never once did she make me feel like we were any less important. There was no funny business or attempts at upselling us, she only made adjustments when requested by us. We planned the entire thing via email and phone calls from the Bay Area and after the experience I felt like I knew her and she was a friend. One week prior to the wedding, my husbands father passed away unexpectedly. I reached out to Jill and let her know the situation and that we would like to do something special to remember him. On the day of our wedding, Jill came with a beautiful memorial lei for his father and added a small memorial ceremony into the plans. She did this all complimentary and without a single added fee, we were shocked to discover that and will be forever grateful to her. I would recommend Jill Kosen and Wedding in Paradise to anyone that told me that they are getting married on the island of Kauai, she made our dream a reality and she is the BEST at what she does.
