It is now months later and our wedding video still has me smiling from ear to ear and tearing up remembering how beautiful our wedding day was. Super delayed review, but better late than never? :) My husband and I were fortunate enough to have worked with Julian last November for our wedding. From our initial contact with his wife, Addy, through the receipt of our final video package in the mail, Julian and his team completely blew us away. Our big day took place at Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute on Oahu. It was clear from the outset that Julian and his crew had filmed there a gazillion times. They knew exactly where all the good spots were, took amazing shots of us, and also incorporated some stunning (and well-timed!) footage of our silhouettes at sunset, waves crashing against the shore, etc. The crew was also really mindful of creating symmetry in the video. When my bridesmaids and I were on our way out of the bridal suite, we were on a tight schedule and debating whether we had time to do a quick champagne toast. One of Julian's camera dudes commented that the groomsmen did a whiskey toast so it would be good if we did our champagne one. And so we did, and boy, did it look good on film when they cut the footage back to back! Their skill was especially evident when they played our same day edit (SDE) at our reception for us and our guests. Within seconds of the SDE playing, my eyes started welling up with tears. They had done such a beautiful job of capturing the many emotions we were feeling that day that I couldn't hold it in! We were already so impressed by their portfolio and knew their videos were amazing, but the end result was still so much more than we could've ever hoped for. We got countless compliments from friends and family about how much they liked our SDE, how well it captured our special day, and how they were impressed by how fast Julian and his team worked. One of my bridesmaids loved their work so much that she asked Julian to come out to San Francisco to film her wedding this year, too! Several months after our wedding, we received our final package with all the footage of the ceremony, reception, first dance, cake cutting, speeches, bouquet, and garter toss. The quality was superb and the footage well cut. One year later on our anniversary, we sat down and watched it all again. We loved going through all the videos and reliving one of the best days of our lives together. And a year later, despite having watched the SDE a whole bunch of times throughout the year, when we watched it again, I still teared up. :) In all honesty, I watch that one the most often, and it never ceases to give me the feels. We were not sure if we wanted a videographer at our wedding. You know, weddings are pricey, and we already had a photographer... LUCKILY my bridesmaid, who was recently married, convinced me to hire a videographer, and I am SO glad she did! It was one of the best investments we made! We went with the "I Love You" Package and ordered a 3-week rush turnaround so we could play the video at our open-house reception in Seattle. When my husband and I got the video in the mail, we opened it up to watch it right way. OMG, it's AMAZING. It's so professional, and the video was touching, cute, and heartfelt. The music selections and perfect, and to top it off, the packaging is so cute and fun! I am so happy I was able to see the moments that I missed, and the moments went by so fast. I was able to watch pre-wedding and processional parts that I didn't see as the bride. After the reception, I was so busy dancing that I didn't even notice our centerpieces, or even the cake (yes we cut it, but I was so in lala-land that I didn't really look it it...). But I did see these details the video, and it really meant a lot to see it all. We were also able to hear our officiant's invocation again, which was really nice. The way the video was all wrapped into a 10-minute sort of mini-movie was so special and sweet. They also have the whole ceremony on the DVD too, but the 10-minute feature is where it's at! Sure enough, we showed the feature video at the open-house reception and everyone loved it! People still email me to tell me how much were moved by the video! We were so lucky to have somehow stumbled across 10th letter when we were planning our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we've made for our wedding. My family is very photography/videograpahy oriented so the first two vendors I booked were photographers and videographers to secure the best ones for my wedding. I'm very critical when it comes to those two things so when I saw their work, I was so pleased with what I saw and I was very happy with their rate. Addy was very professional and responsive. And Julian and his team were amazing on our wedding day. They were very professional and they captured a lot of special moments without interrupting us. All of this was great for me but what blew me away was the final product. We whole heartedly trusted them with the video by letting them pick our music and everything. We only gave them an idea of what we wanted and they did a phenomenal job. The quality of their work is by far the best I've seen. And they made the video super special for us by making a main feature (over 11 minutes long) of our wedding, even though I think we were supposed to only get the highlight (only ~5 minutes long, the package changed by the time we booked them). We couldn't have been luckier to have 10th Letter Media at our wedding. Our wedding planner recommended them and I liked their sample videos so much that I decided to book them right away. We were lucky enough to land their promotion, a free same day edit on top of our wedding package! Two days before our wedding, Hurricane Lester was threatening to make landfall at our ceremony and my wedding planner (the amazing Carrie Lance) and I decided to move the wedding up by a day so that none of our guests would be hit by falling trees and flying tent poles. One of our biggest concerns was that Julian wouldn't be able to make it to the ceremony, since he was based on a neighbor island. Lucky us, he had flown in early and would still be able to shoot us! I met Julian the morning of the ceremony, and he was phenomenal. Addy has been a pleasure helping me decide what package i wanted for my wedding and was very honest with me about having just 1 videographer instead of 2 since i only had 20 guests. Had my destination wedding in Oahu on Secret Beach back in January 2011. 10th Letter Media was one of my coordinator's recommended vendors and at first glance of their work I had to book them. On the day of Julian stayed with our bridal party the entire time asking us to do little things here and there and shooting different things around our hotel room. This review is long overdue only because I have been trying to think of the right words to describe how amazing 10th Letter Media made our special day. From day 1 of contacting Addy, we had nothing but quick and friendly responses to emails. Addy was very accommodating considering our budget and what was important to us. When the time got closer to the wedding date, we called Addy and she was so nice to speak to regarding what to expect on the wedding day, and even helped with our timeline. After looking through their work on their blog online, I became obsessed with their videos. We planned a 65 guest destination wedding from California and they made it so easy to do. They were the 1st vendor that we knew we wanted and booked! Dear Bride to be's out there, watch their videos on their blogs because they helped me get more ideas for little details of my wedding. Things that I wouldn't have thought of became apparent to me after watching their work such as how to display our rings, bride and groom gifts, and picking a good place to film your wedding dress. After seeing some of their videos, I knew I wanted their drone shots, and just their style won me over. As for Julian, our videographer... What can I say?!! He was very friendly, punctual, and filmed more than I expected and even knew about. I asked for drone shots, and I got some great ones! He set up my shoes, dress and rings so that they looked perfect in the video. For not ever working with our photographer (who was also fabulous) they got along well, didn't get in each other's way and did great work together. The only thing I was a little bummed about was that I didn't get to say bye to him and thank him in person. He did email us the very next day with a teaser video that he already posted to his fb page and gave us access to it. When we saw the teaser, we knew we had absolutely made the right choice in such an important part of wedding planning. When we received our finished product, their presentation was perfect! Our thumb drive has a super cute label on it, our dvd's were so personalized and the overall creativity was over the top adorable. We had a reception at home for those who couldn't come to kauai and our video came just in time for that. Our guests were blown away by how beautifully captured our wedding day was! 4 months later, we still can't get enough of showing our friends and family how magical they helped make our day! Julian and Addy make a well organized, professional, and warm husband and wife dream team for videography. Addy is very organized and replied within the day of my emails (if not within a couple of hours). Julian is a very experienced videographer and offered us great suggestions during our video-chat in the planning stages. He and his second shooter (Derrick) came promptly on the day of my wedding and efficiently got their shots setup. The video made us and our guests look natural and like ourselves, but more polished. I was worried about looking fat in my strapless dress, but that did not happen at all. The volume was well balanced on the soundtrack and even the quieter moments were picked up flawlessly on a slightly windy, overcast day. Julian and Addy also were flexible to extend the shoot when a couple months before the wedding my mom told me that she really wanted to have the entire wedding on video. Also the video was ready sooner than expected: we told Addy and Julian that we hoped to take the video overseas when we were going to visit my husband's grandmother, who couldn't make the wedding due to her health, and they made this happen. HANDS DOWN THE BEST WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHERS OUT THERE. Initially we weren't going to do videography, because we aren't exactly "camera people"....but we learned how creative the videos can turn out. We started doing some research and we immediately fell in love with 10th Letter Media's work. I found myself on Vimeo all the time, checking out their previous wedding videos. The Planning Process/Corresponding - The entire planning process was amazing. Addy made everything so crystal clear, and when I did have questions...she was so patient with us (well, me). She was very quick to respond to emails too! They're so organized with everything, that this process was so stress-free. This is a bride-to-be's PERFECT VENDOR! The Day Of - The day of was just incredible. The main thing is to pretend the cameras are not there. We had a theme to our wedding, and they really knew how to incorporate that into our videos. Their attention to detail was just amazing. The package that we chose, included a Same Day Edit. Needless to say our guests absolutely loved it and still talk about it till this day (we got married over 6 months ago). A plus for having a SDE..... is that at the venue of our ceremony, wouldn't allow us to use microphones, so our guests weren't able to hear what we were saying. But in the SDE, they had our vows, mixed in with the music. One of the many things we appreciate, was we suggested 2 songs that we really loved. They used both in our SDE. We totally trust their choice of music (their previous videos has amazing song choices). My other half LOVED one song, and I really LOVED another song, in hopes that they would use it. They also did an amazing job on our slideshow for us. This was also included in our package, which was perfect because that was one less thing we had to worry about. Final Video - AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. Everything was absolutely amazing. I know I'm using that word a lot, but it's the truth. The packaging of the DVD and BluRays were so cute! Oh yes, another huge plus. They offer the option of adding on BluRays. For all you who love HD, the BluRay add ons are SO WORTH IT! Everything about the final video was great! The 10th Letter Media crew really know how to capture special moments. Sound quality and picture quality were both perfect. We loved it so much we ended up buying discs for our entire wedding party.
