So, it's practically two months. In my case I had conflicts and extended travel that quickly changed my ability to attend. I went a total of five times and cancelled and the total bill was $594. They refused to allow any credit for my circumstances. I reluctantly agreed to pay what was contractually due, but when I asked for my credit card information to be erased they actually became quite rude and belligerent, hanging up. I'm very disappointed and can't recommend their services.

As a WW member, it's been a while since I've really needed to start working out, but it's pretty tough. Even the Wii Fit hurts my bod--thank you to years of cheerleading and injuries for my arthritis and loosey goosey ligaments/tendons (yes, that IS the technical term that the orthopedic surgeon provided me with). So I watch Groupon for fitness deals, because I'm a deal hound like that. One day, I see a deal for True Health Studio. "Hmmm" I say to myself...let's see, shall we? Zumba? Fun! Kettlebells? COOL! Sledge hammers and giant tires? HELL YES! But wait...I can't do any of that...It will hurt. *sad face* Restoring movement? Now we're talking. Two weeks in and I'm hooked. Steve runs the class as a group personal training, where routines are personalized for each individual in a small group setting. His knowledge of the body and how we move is phenomenal. Rock. On. No pain, no gain? Not in this class. The goal is not to push too far, but to go just far enough to move more the next day. After day one, I was still a little sore, but I wasn't in pain and I was excited to return. I leave each session with a smile on my face knowing that my body is getting stronger and that one day I WILL get to play with sledge hammers and kettlebells.

I loved him so much that my whole family now trains with him. You can tell he really knows his stuff and works really hard to help you hit your goals. It wasn't the weight that bothered me. It was my inability to do various activities with my family. I choose to sign up for his 42 day program and lost 23 pounds. I kept working with David and lost another 29 pounds. The weight loss has been great; however, more important to me is how my life has changed. I'm off my blood pressure medication, I have signed up for a 5K, and can take my grandson on a 10 mile bike ride. My health and quality of life has significantly improved. I've never been hungry or felt any of the training was beyond my abilities. I have learned what it looks like to eat right and take care of myself. The small class size allows us to support one another. David made minor modifications to the exercises so I could build strength and accommodate the osteoarthritis in my knee. David has treated me with respect, demonstrated discretion, and worked with me to achieve what I felt was important. The gym here is not what you would think when you think typical gym-it's a large open space mostly concrete with some mats and rings and a couple of platforms for weights-it basically looks like what you would think of in a bad action movie where ninjas are training. The crew there is really friendly and I appreciated the effort they took to learn me and my buddy's names when we went because it seemed like everyone there was a regular but at no point did I feel left out. The warm ups got me in a sweat before even the regular workout-they focus a lot on strength and Olympic weightlifting at this Crossfit gym and it showed. A lot of the workouts are named and they were working on 'Grace' which was 30 power cleans for time. They took my and my friend aside to go over the basic movements with a PVC pipe and then moved us on to the weights-it was a tiring couple minutes but it was worth it. My friend had a few questions on how to perform a couple different moves and they took the time to go over it-even though it wasn't on the work out schedule and evaluated our form on it. Definitely a great place to work out if you're tired of treadmills and stuff.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!…read more Cross Fit is one of my favorites: it's so unbelievably down to earth. This is one place I know that I can't get away with anything. That being said: why would you want to if your plan is to come away with a great work out. You pretty much hang with the guys, as well. At CF, it doesn't matter who you are: try to best yourself. And that's what makes it tough! To be honest, I hit CF the most right before vacation time. Am I sloughing off the rest of the time? No, not at all. But, you really sweat yourself silly here; don't come to this spot with full make up and some fancy workout duds. Come to work and be grateful that the intent of these trainers is not only safety, but to help you 'up' your game. Besides, what better game in town is there than truly feeling your best and looking your best in a LWD or LBD. If you know what I mean.
